I think it will still do serious damage to their souls, sense the power of the attack is driven by the sins of the victim. The SGS is pretty haxx, it allows almost any character to fall victim to it, if connected, no matter their power level.

The SGS is pretty haxx, it allows almost any character to fall victim to it, if connected, no matter their power level. It can be avoided and deflected though. I would think DS upper tier characters have faced worse moves. Although SGS is extremely powerful. |

I think even the upper tier would be in serious trouble if it connected, and I think Pyron would actually lose if he were hit. Although the technique would be reduced to utter uselessness if properly armed with the right knowledge and skill to defend against it.

Although the technique would be reduced to utter uselessness if properly armed with the right knowledge and skill to defend against it. Possibly, but I think there's a limit. I don't see it beating Galactus and the Phoenix for instance. |

Why wouldn't it? The move is basically designed to kill anyone. The only limit is your past sins. Now would it kill someone like Ghost Rider or Black Heart? No. I think Pyron would be phucked, too and he can crush galaxies in his hand and that's not even close to the limits of his destructive output. The move is designed to kill anything with a soul.
Do Galactus or Phoenix Force have feats of soul regeneration? I don't think Akuma could hit them with it, but if he did, their souls would be violated unless they empty their minds and soul. Would they know how to defend, if hit, without being told?

Vega survived because his soul jumped ship and Gill WAS killed, he just Resurrected. It wasn't as if the SGS was too weak to kill them. Then you consider Gouki now has an SSGS, as well. Pile on to that, an Oni form, too. It's a pretty haxx move. Surprised people don't bring it up more, I know I'm going to start. Phoenix can resurrect and has a more powerful mind, body, and spirit than anything Gouki has faced, and has faced numerous attacks like that before. Galactus is just a cosmic entity. A mass, nothing more or less. Saying Gouki would raging demon them when they've survived other "instant death" spells is a stretch seeing as he hasn't killed much weaker characters with it. Gouki's power is gauged by it because if he isn't strong enough he can be destroyed too. Also S. Akuma and the more powerful characters have stronger versions of the move. That would be like Zatanaa destroying anybody by saying "I win" backwards. It may sound like so on paper, but it doesn't work in practice. |
