This reminds me of the argument I got into over Duke Nukem, Sonic, and Crash Bandicoot over at KMC. And they were being bashed for being "cliche". And I had to remind them, constantly, that these characters came out in the mid 90s. They've been ripped off or borrowed from so much, that you lose sight of them being the forefathers, in many ways. Same goes for Ryu, Morrigan, and others.
