Oh ok what're the exact dimensions? 800X600? 1024X(I forget what)? Mine is on 1024x768, the widescreen is on 640x480. I believe anyways, I'll check downstairs later.

If you're on a computer running a res at 640x480 (with a widescreen nonetheless), you DESERVE to have your screen stretched.

Oh yeah, I'll be staying at school btw. I have finals fairly evenly spread out. One on Monday, another Thursday, and the last one Saturday.

Kay, so does break start when you're done with finals?
Edit: Forgot to mention I saw Death Note, the first twelve episodes anyway. It's pretty good so far, but I can't help but predict that they're starting to run out of steam at this point with the addition of that girl. How far are you in the series?

Yeah, break will start when I get back Saturday evening.
I watched the whole thing. But the girl plays an important role. I'd say the show has its slow points from time to time, but I don't think it ever loses that peculiar suspense feel. One thing I like about it is I never felt the need to know who the good guy or the bad guy was; I'd just enjoy it.

I'm a little bit farther than you and I have to agree. There is a significant change in pace with the girl's inclusion. Anime producers need to seriously watch their sense of pace. Most ignore it and move on but pacing is incredibly important. It was the pacing of Cowboy Bebop that kept it from getting a 5/5 in my reveiws.

But Death Note still had me hooked from beginning. But I have a very basic standard on telling whether an anime is good or not. You ask: "Is it still good without all the chicks?" If it is, then it is a good anime. With a few exceptions of course.

Huh, never really felt Bebop had pacing issues myself. I might be biased since it's a personal favorite, but I found that since most of the episodes could be taken as stand-alone, the pacing of the overall arc would be a bit low on priority; there's a few exceptions though (near the beginning and end of the series mostly, plus there's the movie which is best viewed between #23 and 24). I suppose if one were to watch the series in one or two sittings, I could see your point, but otherwise I can't say I agree.

Both of those shows are excellent. Seriously. And that, "No chick" rule is one I've used myself more than once. Applying the "No chick" rule to Love Hina nearly kills the show.
You might be biased on the Cowboy Bebop thing, or I might be looking into it too much. I didn't think the show was quite deserving of a 5/5 for various reasons but I did think the flow was quite off. Perhaps that's due to the many stand-alone episodes. I'll have to look back on that one because I also might have had my expectations set too high for that show. I don't know, maybe I should rate these guys based on a following as well. It's confusing. On one hand I've got Cowboy Bebop that doesn't pay enough attention to flow and a perfect ending to boot. (possibly the best ending in anime) And on the other I've got Neon Genesis Evangelion that has great timing and plot material but quite possibly the worst ending in anime. Both have huge followings.
As far as favorites go one of my favorite animes is Gungrave and it got a lower score in my reviews than either of those shows will get.
Also - the Cowboy Bebop movie is absolutely spectacular!
I must be tired because I feel like I'm jumping all over the place.

"Is it still good without all the chicks?"
Dja Majista brought it up a little earlier. Good rule. You can actually apply it to a lot of things Is it still good without all the violence, special effects, yadda - yadda - yadda.

I think I just aced my Philosophy exam. I can't recall though. It seems like just a blur now. All I remember was writing six pages in two hours, which was probably more than my professor wanted but what the hell...

Just a reminder for all of you scumbags: thacmaster.proboards50.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=suggesting&thread=832And since I didn't get to this particular aspect of my response there, I'll note it here (see, another way you fiends can be off-topic: this thread!) How any of you could think that the new Strongbad game will suck is completely beyond me. Have you all not played the games available on the Homestar Runner website? And comparing it to the ATHF game, tsk tsk. The Strongbad game will be a very serious attempt at entertainment, whereas the ATHF game appeared to be nothing more than a homosexual cash-in like most things related to Adult Swim. Don't you see how completely right I am?

My thoughts exactly. If they pack this thing with minigames and stuff like they have on the website, it's gonna be awesome. I want to see a trogdor game remade for the wii.
