I am totally wrong about the people from England. I had previously thought they were just uneducated fools, and that they just talked out of their asses on various topics. It seems that Prince Charles has found the cause and cure of diabetes. www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/27/europe/EU-GEN-Britain-Charles-vs-McDonalds.php"Have you got anywhere with McDonald's? Have you tried getting it banned? That's the key," Charles was quoted as asking one of the center's nutritionists.Prince Charles has narrowed down the cause of diabetes to McDonalds. I just want to commend Chuck on a job well done. He has single handedly figured out the key cause of Diabetes. He has thrown out every knowledgeable scientist's previous studies, and told them that they are all assholes. McDonalds is the Key.Now mind you all, that the first McDonalds opened in United Arab Emirates sometime in 1994 (I think). The United Arab Emirates has the world's second highest number of diabetes cases per capita, with more than 20 percent of those aged 20 to 79 already diagnosed with the illness. So from 1994 till now, McDonald's has afflicted over 20% of their population, aged 20-79, with diabetes. Fucking McDonalds. It is a good thing we have people with Chuck's overwhelming intelligence looking out for us all. What does everyone else think about this monumental finding by the world's smartest man?

I doubt very highly that he actually goes to Iraq. Whoops then. But from an African American who has diabetes on both sides of his family, I can say that fast food is a part of it. We used to work on the field as slaves, that stuff was unheard of. But when we got access to more money, and therefore more comfort time, we got lazier. That with fast food, and people are blowing up left and right, and black people are getting diabetes more than more, which can be simply countered if people just exercised sometimes.

McDonald's doesn't cause diabetes though. If you ate McDonald's but lead an active lifestyle you would have the same chance of having diabetes as anyone else. It's not like the secret ingredient to McDonald's food is diabetes. Being overweight does increase the risk of diabetes, but being overweight is usually do to someone's lack of exercising. They are taking in far to many calories than they are burning. People that are heavier do to hereditary reasons should avoid fast food and candy anyways, as they are already a risk candidate for many health complications. To place the blame on McDonalds is really just a cop-out for the schools not teaching about the benefits of healthy food and exercise. Just a thought. How would he like it if I made a suggestion. I am sure that people in the UK would enjoy some sort of tax relief. Everyone can always use more money in their pocket right? Lets suggest that to help relieve some of the burden on UK taxpayers, they no longer support the Royal Family. The money that they have collected over the years is theirs, we wouldnt take that from them. But from this moment on, they are on their own. No more tax-free living, no more money coming in from the peasants. The countless land that the Queen owns that she rents out for Government use, should be donated to the Government. Just a thought. <edit> I misread part of your post. I agree that food plays a part, but only because the people arent being taught proper nutrition. Its not McDonald's fault that people enjoy their food. I guess its just the Brits then.

No I don't believe McDonalds causes it, but I do feel that the increased lax style and the increased amount of fast food restaraunts. Which is not the restaruant's fault itself of course, but Americans are fatter on average than Europeans in general, but the increase of fast food and the widening of streets (that allow for more driving and less walking) are making them like us. You should suggest the second part though.

Maybe the UKanians dont understand about nutrition either then? money.cnn.com/2003/01/22/news/companies/mcdonalds/index.htmAs can be seen there, our government realizes that it isnt McDonald's doesnt cause people to get fat. It is really a shame- Bradley's father, Israel, said he never saw anything in the Bronx restaurants that informed him of the food's ingredients. "I always believed McDonald's was healthy for my children," he said in an affidavit. That a parent can say that. He must be from the UK. I can almost understand that people from 3rd world countries don't understand about health and nutrition. Although I think that the major countries should help educate them. But I don't condone pointing a finger at a corporation and singling them out, like they somehow invented the disease. And then expect the nobel peace prize or something.

I agree that people shouldn't pick on a corporation just because it's big and they know they can get something out of it. McDonalds and places like that ARE a big reason that people are like they are, but it's not their fault for having a business. Just like guns cause violence, but you can't blame the person who sells them what the person who bought the gun should do with them.

I agree that people shouldn't pick on a corporation just because it's big and they know they can get something out of it. agreed No one forces anyone to eat there, except for parents bringing their kids. But that is a case of the parents either indulging the kids want of McDonalds, or the parents are looking for a quick meal. Or both. The parents have the option of providing a nutritious meal. But McDonald's is successful because of the convenience factor. And McDonald's doesn't prevent people from regularly exercising. Last time I went to the gym, I didn't have to try to slip past Ronald McDonald to get in the place. lol Guns don't cause violence, it's people that cause the violence while using guns. People need to just accept responsibility for their own actions.

Well all things should be in moderation, there's nothing wrong with eating there, but you shouldn't eat there all the time anyways, especially no more than 2x a week AT MOST. Once a week usually is more understandable. In my case at least as I'm always busy, but I don't eat at places like that, I eat where they have real food. Say Zaxby's.
I should have quoted that in quotations. There would be alot less killing without guns, but ultimately it's the man behind the trigger. Guns themselves have no other purpose. Violence doesn't have to be right or wrong, it's still violence.
But you know what I meant.

Well that brightened my day immensely. I eat at McDonald's maybe once every other month. I get a Big Mac and fries. That's it. I can't understand these people who take their family there four times a week, then sue because their kid isn't going to live past thirty. Then use their eighty gajillion dollar out-of-court settlement to take their kid to Burger King four days a week. Speaking of Burger King, try the BK™ Stacker, stacks of meat and cheese on a bun, no veggies allowed. Burger King®, have it your way!

I really don't like McDonalds, I eat there when I'm going out of town or something. BK is sloppy to me. And nowadays they'll change ANY order, and not just there, take the word of a man who has to work the registers and listen to Salad with no lettuce, and Taco's with no shells.

Well funny thing is, one of the meat pies that Charle's own company produce, contains more fat, salt and sugar than anything that is on the Mcdonalds menu.
Oh and Hi by the way!

Well funny thing is, one of the meat pies that Charle's own company produce, contains more fat, salt and sugar than anything that is on the Mcdonalds menu. Oh and Hi by the way! Hi Herc. Good point. linkThat is a link to an article that talks about the very thing that Herc just mentioned. <edit> fucking proboards blows. They are cutting the link off, so I cant link to it. Well here is the table from the article. Taken from the article- "In visiting the diabetes centre today, he was keen to draw attention to this very important issue, particularly the need for children to enjoy the widest possible variety of food and not eat any particular food to excess."
But the spokesman declined to discuss claims that a Big Mac was, in fact, healthier than one of the Prince's own Cornish pasties, saying that the Duchy Originals brand openly recorded the nutritional content of its products. "It is up to consumers to decide whether to buy them," he said. Hmmmmm. Seems like a bit of a hypocrite if you ask me. Lets look at both paragraphs. "In visiting the diabetes centre today, he was keen to draw attention to this very important issue, particularly the need for children to enjoy the widest possible variety of food and not eat any particular food to excess."This I agree with whole heartedly. Children need to be shown that healthy food is better for them. There are choices out there, and they shouldn't just pick what they think tastes better. There are many fruits and vegetables that I enjoy snacking on rather than eating something from McDonalds. They don't need to be forced, just shown that there are more choices out there. But the spokesman declined to discuss claims that a Big Mac was, in fact, healthier than one of the Prince's own Cornish pasties, saying that the Duchy Originals brand openly recorded the nutritional content of its products. "It is up to consumers to decide whether to buy them," he said. This I have a problem with. Is Chuck really all for the Children's well being? Why wouldn't the spokesman comment on something that Chuck was more than willing to voice his opinion on? If he is all for children's health, wouldn't he want them to avoid something that was even LESS healthy than one of McDonald's Big Mac? I mean, since McDonald's is the problem and all wouldn't he want the children to avoid something that was even worse? Or does that not really matter since this is Chuck's own product in discussion. And that would be taking money out of his pockets. "It is up to consumers to decide whether to buy them," he said. Lets hope that the consumers decide not to.
