To change the subject, Lana. What do you think of her? I've known he before she was a mod, she's a cool person when she doesn't get arrogant with her powers.

She is an alright person, but she lacks debating skills and thinks she's always right(even if it is just her opinion). I remember one time I pwned her and outright proved the Star Wars EU is canon, and she just got mad and said,"EU is not canon, deal with it."

She seems to have a hard time distinguishing between her "opinions" and her "facts".

I was strolling through the sports forum when I stumbled upon this gem- 'By dominance, Wilt. But his era was less Center-heavy, so he didn't have it as hard.' ~ DigimarkThis post was in the "who is the second greatest player in NBA history?" thread. Now I saw this and just laughed. Take a look at some of the centers that Wilt had to play against- * Bill Russell * Kareem Abdul Jabbar * Willis Reed * Wes Unseld * Elvin Hayes * Dolph Schayes * Nate Thurmond * Bob Lanier If any one of those guys played today, they would dominate like we wouldn't believe. Defenses and offenses would be hard pressed to play against any of them. Just something to think about. The mods on KMC are only human, and have very small narrow minds it seems. Dude needs to watch some basketball film from pre-Jordan era.

I remember seeing Tron and thinking most mods would be like that when it came to knowledge. But you have guys like WD running around...

Oh man. I could have a field day with this guy's ignorance. lol
I am going to go through his posts one by one.
Here is another in the sports forum-
'Everyone's answer seem rather logical and good, though I'd argue against Montana being top 5...you can make arguments for other quarterbacks being as dominant as him, let alone other sports. And I'd honestly have Jerry Rice as my top-ranked football player. No one else is as clear of a "best player ever at his position" than Rice (at football at least). Jim Brown would probably be next in terms of sheer dominance.' ~Digimark
This was a thread about the top 5 players in everyone's opinion.
So I agree with his comment about Montana, but what is up with the Jim Brown ignorance? Jim Brown ran around, through and over guys. Now I am not taking anything away from Rice, but Brown owned almost every running record. (psst) He only played 9 years, and then retired. He retired cuz he was out there killing himself for peanuts. If he got payed like they do today? The guy would put every record in his pocket and make it so no one could ever touch them.
Its funny how people are instant sports historians. But it seems like all the best stars are only from the time that these people watched sports. lol

Ok, so I delve a little further and we have even more ignorance. This time he is trying to do some research, but he doesnt really understand it.
Same thread as my last post-
'Josh Gibson. (Do a google search. Kid was playing in the baseball Negro Leagues at the same time that Babe Ruth lived. And he was better. Lots better (see: 900+ home runs in a comparable span of time)....and by all accounts his league was every bit as good as the major leagues during that era. The physical stats that could be kept were similar, and they'd win the majority of cross-league all-star games, where Gibson had a 400+ batting average against the best pitchers of the regular league.) ~Digimark
Ok, lets start off with who Josh Gibson is. He was a Negro League player that played catcher for the Pittsburgh Crawfords from 1930 to 1937, and then for the Homestead Grays from 1937 to 1946.
Babe Ruth lived until the year 1948. So his first point is valid, although not very important.
The next point is that Josh was better, lots better. This is an opinion, that I assume he came upon by watching the movie Soul of the Game. We will get to his stats now-
Josh Gibson hit 900+ home runs in a comparable span of time.- Unfortunately most of the Negro League stats were never kept. So this is just a guess, albeit a pretty poor one. There are a lot of legends surrounding Josh Gibson. There is the one about him hitting a homerun in Yankee Stadium that struck two feet from the top of the wall circling the center field bleachers, about 580 feet from home plate. I can't verify that is 100% true, but it might be. Most historians credit Gibson with less than 800 homeruns. A bit short of Digi's claimed 900. The homeruns also werent against the same caliber of pitchers as the Major League pitchers. No matter what Digi says to the contrary. Josh played a plentiful amount of barnstorming games, where he would bat against local homegrown pitchers.
I don't know what physical stats that he is referring too, but if he has some he should send them to the Hall of Fame. The only thing available are a few newspaper clippings here and there spread throughout the United states.
they'd win the majority of cross-league all-star games, where Gibson had a 400+ batting average against the best pitchers of the regular league.
They did win, I am not sure about the majority or not. I think the consensus of Gibson's average in the cross league all stars was about .375. Not bad, but again a little short of the hype.
All this being said. There are legends and there are records. Unfortunately Babe Ruth had records, and all Josh had was legends. Baseball historians have Josh Gibson with 224 homeruns against the top black teams. The rest of his homers most likely came from his barnstorming days. Some of the same historians have him listed 2nd on the all time negro league homerun leaderboard. They have George Suttles listed as no. 1.
I truly wish that better records were kept back then, but they werent. We are left with a lot of legends, and I am fine with that. I like to hear the old stories of the monstrous homeruns. But to me they are just stories, unless someone comes forward with actual proof.
