I agree we are searching for an answer, I just don't believe there is "an" answer, or "the" answer, I simply think that within human reasoning we can come to agreements or express our thoughts in a generalized sense and that's what makes it what it is, the fact that it doesn't have just the general answer like many things we use in society to relate to one another. It's free talk.
I'm sober, how about you?

Ah, yeah, that's a good point. But in philosophy, you don't just ask one question and try to answer to. You ask the first question, but to answer the first you find that you have to answer another question, and to find the answer to that, you have to find the answer another question, so on and so forth. Notice I'm not saying ad infinitum, but the point is, to answer broad questions you find it's necessary to narrow things down, and dissect them into more specific questions. So yeah you have to answer questions correctly, but that's only half the battle. You have to know what to ask too. Yeah, I'm for sober philosophy, but I still want to try my hand at arguing the other end.

I do drink (I'm something of a wine connis... conis... French word for guy who tries a lot of stuff) but I've never been drunk. I was merely using it for humerous purposes. Having never been drunk myself I couldn't say with any validity whether philosophy is better drunk or sober. However I would put it to you that if being drunk incapacitates your ability to think clearly then wouldn't that suggest that philosophy requires oneself to not think clearly? I don't think so. The only philosphy that a drunk man feels is that all things are beautiful throught the eyes of an empty glass.

Well maybe it makes you more spontaneous, and you're more likely to come up with new things. Psyquis, would you be our guinea pig? It's for science... I mean philosophy... or the science of philosophy. You'd just have to get drunk once and freewrite your inquiries while your intoxicated. I'm just kidding btw . I'll see if I can coax some college drunk into going along with me.

Don't bother. I'll just take my brother to a bar and try to get him to talk seriously without getting into a fight.

The question is, would they make any sense? Or at least just enough sense to derive some philosophical value from it. I know! The best philosophy is done with a drunk dude and a sober dude: for spontaneity and good inquiry respectively.

No. The brother test didn't go so well. All he wanted to talk about was how the Cubs haven't won a world series in a long time and he thinks it's his fault.
You guys got anything?

Like they figure somehow that there are exactly 30 inalienable human rights. 30 is a peculiarly flat number. That and one of the rights is to have fun. Oh and most of them are laws not rights.
