As fair of an answer as any. Religion is ultimately faith based after all.

You could force people to follow, but not believe. I guess you could have a religion and not believe it. Not sure, you could have the organized part of it.

By coercion I mean by shaming or threats: You're going to hell or God will punish you, etc.

By coercion I mean by shaming or threats: You're going to hell or God will punish you, etc. Oh you mean mental force or whatever. Well then yea, no point of "believing" in something if it is forced.

I mean they have to say there's something in it for you if they follow their principles. I haven't heard a church say " Just do what you want, it doesn't matter."

I think he tries to guide all of us, his miracles are a way of showing us that he indeed does exist since they can't be duplicated. I don't think he wants any of us to be lost. If you are calling your pet dog to you and he decides to run away and you don't stop him, it doesn't mean that you don't love the dog, but you are still giving it that choice, along with calling it all the way. Do you still feel this way?

Do you still feel this way? Nope not even close. I find it great I can look at old threads and see how I've changed when it comes to religion. When I went to church I was still a free thinker in terms of personal responsibility and all that, but I had faith. Then I saw what people did with it and I woke up and don't believe in it anymore. I used to have religious discussions here and hated when people used "because the Bible says so" logic.

Well like I said, lack of proof and the fact that it's not necessary to believe in any of it to lead a happy, productive, and responsible life. Not only that but the behaviors of group think. I don't need it and I don't agree with what they say and also the collectivist ideals that they preach.

More of I believe in freedom and being in control of my life. I don't think he really does and I think it's make believe, but I'm not worried about that. I just focus on believing in myself over some outside force be it government or religion.

But, what I'm asking is ultimately what do you believe your goal is in life is? Why are you here to do in your opinion?

I just serve what I want, which is personally complete freedom and creating and doing things that I want. I believe that the greatest good is serving my free will. I guess I could immortalize myself by going above and beyond in that area, but I don't think it's anything magical.

That's what I'm inquiring about. What it is you want to do, I wasn't implying you need a magical purpose of some sort. But, what you believe about your life? You just want to be free, but free to do what?...Is what I'm asking?

So I'd like to basically accumulate as much wealth as possible, get out of the country and travel. From there on I want to push myself as far as I can go in several fields. Don't think I'm having kids, and even if I did it wouldn't be anytime soon. Not until I did everything else I wanted.

Yeah, that's what I mean't. So, basically: Travel, try new things out, build some wealth and enjoy life? I gotcha, that sounds pretty neat, just enjoy life basically.
