I did both. When I DMed though I completely remade the games background remaking all the deities to be more like the Greek Gods

Sure why not. What D&D books do you have? I had the three basic ones. Then class based ones for Fighters and Magic Users Anything else I needed I just borrowed from my friends. Remember tough I only played for about 2 years

Hmm monster has to be Vampire.. But other that that unicorns and dragons ooo and faeries. Did you ever look into getting faeries landing? Awesome book.

I like pretty much every 'Mythical Creature'.
Except for things like Giant spiders, and Giant snakes. Those are just stupid to me, more annoying then fascinating. Its like the writer couldnt use his imagination.

Giants are an original idea, I think. But then every writer and his mother decided to use the idea of enlarging something and pass it off as their own creation. Ridiculous.
