It appears a new Shadow Warrior game is coming from developer Flying Wild Hog (Hard Reset) and publisher Devolver Digital (Hotline Miami, Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition). Flying Wild Hogs has officially revealed the game through its Facebook page along with the game's website, which proclaims the project to be a "total reimagining of Shadow Warrior."

Described as a “bold new vision,” the game takes the “classic” original title and brings it into the current century with “modern design, inventive combat mechanics, and a contemporary retelling of Lo Wang’s comical rise to legend.

Designed entirely as a solo experience (there won't be multiplayer), Shadow Warrior aims to preserve the katana-based violence and dodgy humor of the original game. However, the company wants to avoid doing a "Duke Nukem Forever" and claims it wants to reinvent the series, rather than simply retread old groun

They didn't tread old ground with Duke Forever. Similar enemies and weapons, but the game didn't play like the old one at all.

As long as they remember what made Shadow Warrior fun in the first place

i read somewhere some humor won't be coming back such as the more negative things

"We're keeping the humor and sharp wit," Lowrie said. "But we've removed the more negative things that have no place in our game."

only thing i can think of when they mean "But we've removed the more negative things", Which the other game had was the naked anime style girls.

They'll likely make it more "mainstream" like they do everything else.

Seen some of the gameplay for this, They're going for a Painkiller style not that i'm complaining Painkiller is a good old school style shooter



what i don't get is why can't they do something like those old FPS games from the 90's, Looking for keys throughout the level while updating it.
