Honestly, if feminist want the gaming community. Then they can gave it. Really, not worth much anyway outside of being filled with morons and poseurs. Well I don't want it to become too vaginified and turn out like TV and movies. Too much "You go girl!" garbage and double standards in there.

If it does then I just will watch something else from somewhere else. Samething happened to me with Rap. They kept pushing garbage songs. So, I stopped listening and replaced it with Japanese Rap. Same rule applies here.

That's what I'm getting at.

SF is done in Japan, they even sold the rights of SF to Capcom of America a while back. SF4 was made for Western fans in particular. www.capcom-unity.com/street_fighter/go/thread/view/7411/20045613/66_of_Capcom_doesnt_think_continuing_SF_is_a_good_idea__Ono_Interview

Yea, from what I heard it was supposed to be a beta for SF3 revamped or something, but what they ended up doing was making it completely for casuals. Fighting games were dead at the time so it makes sense they were concerned.

Capcom wasn't planning on making SF4 because they felt [ and I agree] that they had created the ultimate Street Fighter with third strike [my favorite game]. SRK hates SF3 series and bashes it all the time, there were some strange rumors going around that SF3 killed SF popularity and bombed in Japan because the characters were to weird. In reality, Japan loved Third Strike and kept the game alive for a decade. Westerners suck at Third Strike and while they were busy writing long essays as to why the game was bad [Theory Fighter]. Japanese were busy actually playing the game and bodying westerners. It's why I left SRK and the English speaking fighting game community.

Japanese were busy actually playing the game and bodying westerners. It's why I left SRK and the English speaking fighting game community. I can't remember but I thought you were arguing long ago that there were many things you didn't like about the game (I'll have to look that up though). I'm more or less convinced that a business makes their decision based on money. I mean some would argue that SF2 was the ultimate SF too. They all play so differently. Third Strike has it's fanbase on SRK, I find many people say it's the greatest because it's 3rd Strike, and then you have the ones who try to sound smart by bashing it which always ends up going back and forth. Capcom did lose money with SF3 over the years because it did have less popular characters hence why they added more later. I'd say it became way more popular to the mainstream due to that Evo event generating hype and the fact that it was released on consoles. It is a good game though. I always found that they were all so different. SF2 was more fundamental based, Alpha was more offensive based, and SF3 had the parry system so they're all good. I'd be willing to bet any of their decisions are made more or less on profit. They intentionally dumbed down SF3 anyways so it doesn't seem they were trying to improve on it and I know Ono said the goal was to make the game as accessible to a general audience. You know what that means.

SF3 didn't do well in the west. If that's what you mean by losing money. It did good in Japan, but in the west fighters were on a decline and the game had to compete with other in-house fighters like mvc2 which is popular in the west. SF2 can be argued as the ultimate Street Fighter as well same with CVS2 despite being underrated. My point was that Capcom felt the series had reached it's peak and there was no point in making it. With SF4 they dumbed it down like you said and tried to appeal to the nostalgia morons that loved SF2 in the 90's since nostalgia baiting is huge in the west now.
I don't have a problem [anymore at least] with SF4, it is what it is: Cash cow game made to appeal to nostalgia. When I was criticizing the game when it first came out and took on alot of flack. These days I don't care, because I realised that: 1]the game is a 7 at best 2] The English fandom is crap tier anyway just like the rest of the gaming community
So, I'm not mad anymore.
You mean they intentionally dumbed down sf4, right?

I just thought you were arguing with Coolest Thing Alive on this forum about SF3 being overrated and he was disagreeing with you. It seems now he thinks it's overrated and you think it's the ultimate SF game. So maybe I just have you two reversed lol. I agree with CvS2 being underrated. Sure wish they released that with online for PC and console.

Actually, we were arguing about SF4 being overrated. Which it is, but at the time despite not liking the game I understand now why people are so crazy about it. Yeah, CVS 2 man that game had one of the best meta-games. People slept on it like they always do. I think I'm gonna start following it again. Too many people get on bandwagons, imo. It's why I'm clocking out, getting too old for that nonsense.

He and Frisky are some major SF fanboys. Which is odd because they were always complaining about Capcom (mainly because of Darkstalkers). Any criticism I even made of the game and they went nuts. We argued ages about it on like two threads. Frisky got mad and left, and CTA soon after. I thought it was absurd how they just worshipied the game yet at the same time talked so much about hating Capcom lol. I'll link it to you in a minute. CvS2 had TONS of depth, and yea arguing with fools is pointless. People were hyped because it's the new SF.

I played Darkstalkers back in the day and loved it, but it was just an obscure fighting game. Now that ono says he wants to revive it, everyone is crazy about the game. It's whatever. CVS2 is crazy good.

CVS2 is crazy good. You have two types of fanboys. The hardcore ones of big bases, and the ones of small bases that thinks that being a fan makes them "special". thacmaster.proboards.com/thread/1445/street-fighter-4-compareThere's the thread. He even said Kofxiii had balance issues and that SFIV has more thinking. I don't agree at all.

I couldn't read that thread. I'm trying, but it's just wow. You can mash in KOF? Ugh, just ugh. They're too fanboyish. You get away with mashing far more in SF than Kof, I don't know where SF fanboys get off saying that. You have a large reversal window with less block stun, lenient inputs, and a way to make reversals safe. Kof has none of that. Even if you *did* manage to mash out a DP you'd get like what 100 damage max. If you leave yourself open you will eat like 800-1000 and die against a competent player.

Yeah, I can't be bothered to argue someone like that. I'd rather just let them believe what they want.

Yeah, I can't be bothered to argue someone like that. I'd rather just let them believe what they want. They even said it's easier to mash in the OLD SF than in the new one. Wow, just reading that again.... After playing both for years now and having an even deeper opinion on it I would have ripped it apart even more. They've always been fanboys though, even at KMC. And the ones that say Kof is just mindless rushdown haven't even played it. You can play each character in a variety of more ways then you ever could in SF. Defense is smart defense and not dumb "down/back" defense. Offense is smart offense and not just mindless 50/50's and unblockables. Street Fighter 4 encourages the dumb and none of the smart.

Kof 98 for example had solid zoning like SF2 did. Yeah, it's absurd and it's obvious they don't play KOF. Like I said, I'm glad I left the "gaming community".

Kof zoning defense is strong but more dynamic.
For instance if I throw a fireball with Saiki I don't just wait and DP, I can run behind it and pressure or hopbackwards and do an air to air attack. They also have more ways around the fireball which makes it a more dynamic experience.
Defense is done by utilizing your jumps and rolls while faking your opponent out. Not just down+back mash crouch tech.
These fanboys have no idea what they're talking about.
