Supergirl was a big miss back in the day, but that movie made no sense. Poor Kara. Female leads and movies seldom do well though, particularly in comics. Yea, many Superhero movies were hit and miss, Avengers did it without Spidey, so hopefully DC can do it as well. Movies that get too crowded often have bad results. I was thinking of Supergirl when I typed it. As well as Red Sonja and Elektra. If we look at other superheroine movies, not necessarily comic book based, some movies with female leads have been successful. Lara Croft and Underworld come to mind. I hope the movie does well. I enjoy the genre and hope to see more of this type of movie. Yea. Lara Croft did decent compared to most movies with female leads, though it took quite a bit of fanservice. That said this won't be an issue since it'll be a team movie like Avengers. Let's hope for the best. |

I personally think this movie rides on Affleck's shoulders. Not that he is going to carry the movie, just that he can make or break this film. His track record is... meh at best. Hopefully the character appeal can help. |

Henry Caville is solid, but Affleck is what will make or break this film. Even though Jason Momoa's Aquaman has a bad pallet, I think he will be good. I'm just more worried about Batman.

I can't really imagine a world where the best candidate to play a character that combines Sherlock Holmes with a ninja playboy billionaire that creates futuristic tech, is Ben Affleck.
Especially when we have already seen his fight sequences in Daredevil. He just doesn't come off as the physical type. Nor has he shown the acting ability to really pull it off.
I hope that I am wrong though.

I saw Argo which is the last thing I know he did. It was a pretty good movie. But he has quite a few turds under his belt.

When I was young I liked the art better. As well as the stories. I guess it just stuck.
I have since gone back and reread the DC stories and I have enjoyed them years later, but I still prefer Marvel.

I have since gone back and reread the DC stories and I have enjoyed them years later, but I still prefer Marvel. It seems like Marvel has a more colorful "modern" appeal. DC has more of a classic style, some say they like DC writers better though. |
