The game stars the powerful Yaiba Kamikaze, an antagonistic ninja who once belonged to a clan whom he massacred, viewing them as cowardly.At some point Yaiba engages in battle with franchise protagonist Ryu Hayabusa, losing his left eye and arm, along with his "life". He was resurrected as a cyborg by a mysterious organization, having to quell a zombie plague in exchange for the power he needs to take his revenge on Ryu
