I almost fell out of my seat when I heard someone actually say. "Huge reversal windows and input leniency makes SF4 deeper!"
WHAT!?!?
If this isn't an indicator to what audience this game attracts and how it plays I don't know what is. People think mashing is deep.
There should be a balanced risk/reward to what you do. A DP is a powerful move and should be balanced accordingly. FADC on it is already enough but throwing the mashing and the huge reward on it is too much. It penalizes the attacker too much for random gameplay. It won't change at all I imagine though.

Well, if you remember I was one of the first people to be against SF4 back when the bandwagon just formed around this game. Even though I play it my general opinion is that this is a weak SF game and it's also why I'm no longer a Capcom fan.

I mean the game really needs an engine overhaul. I've tried hard to get into it, but there are just too many games that don't have these abundance of problems. Even pro players are complaining about it. It has some of the basics in there but the way it's put together is just bleh. Plus a lot of their decrease in quality and milking is just bleh. I didn't know you were no longer a Capcom fan though.

I didn't know you were no longer a Capcom fan though. They're not the same company I grew up with in the 90's. I still play some of their games, but it's not a priority. I still like Resident Evil for example.

Yea people have been complaining about those games, but they have some good things about them left Like most Japanese game developers. They're stuck in the past. It almost seems like they're dumbing things down for the "new age" so to speak. The new DMC game, SF4, etc. People have even complained about Resident Evil.

They're trying to make their games more modern. The complaint with Resident Evil was that it focused too much on action. I don't really mind, the games are still good and Revelations was a throw back Resident Evil Game. DMC was Boooooooooring. I couldn't even hate it so much as it just put me to sleep. This is another problem with Capcom and other Japanese developers. Too much outsourcing to the west. They don't make enough games in house. SF4 was over-hyped from day one. KOF is ma much better game for example. Capcom fighters in general have become formulaic.

Lol, people are going to hate that reboot. I'm not sure what they were aiming with on that. SF4 did help get fighters back in the limelight again, but it isn't that great of a game. The problem is they've dumbed down the game. The same thing you see in CoD and other games. The end of the golden years. I hate SRK but these posters say it best when they talk about SF4 vs the Classics. forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/comment/8356768#Comment_8356768Read that for a few pages and look how he brings up modern cartoons to classics. Very enlightening IMO. Not bad for SRk stuff.

A post from someone called JaggaToof:
"You're an example of ignorant fvcktards that need to have their teeth kicked in when they think they're preaching common sense to people, you people that saying that you're a scrub, and just not good enough, to be using shortcuts. Tourney scenes popularity and coverage have made you mediocrities start behaving like enormous f@ggots. In the name of trying to reach this bar in your mind of playing like Daigo, or Poongko, or somebody, you just say this crap to puff up your chests, and makes yourselves look like great joystick athletes that you're not, and never can be.
FVCK. THAT. NOISE.
You know holding every player to tourneyf@g standards, saying, 'WULL IF U R HAVIN TRUBBLE TEHN U SUCK GET BETTER SCRUB' - THAT... is PURE... HORSE... SH!T. YOU are not even as good as you act like everyone should be, and YOU and many others never will be. You're probably intermediate like me. The demand of timing for links in this game, is unbelievably ridiculous. Combos are extremely difficult to do, and require RIDICULOUS amounts of practice, and natural skill. But yeah, go ahead, let's make a game where only a very, very small amount of people are able to play it. I'm sure that makes you cvnts feel all elitist and speshul. There needs to be a certain level of reason in the combo system. That is all I ask for. Not links that 99% of people drop, and combos that takes a year straight of playing time to perfect. Anyway, those are the only "shortcuts" that I use, if those are indeed "shortcuts."
and shortcuts are as natural as cross-ups. Take shortcuts OUT? Well take cross-ups out, f@ggots. Unless I'm mistaken about what shortcuts are, aren't they like when you're holding down/forward and then you do a slight forward, down, forward motion to do a Dragon Punch? That is the only way I am even able to those combos involving DP notations with Ryu and Dan that involve a crouching normal into a DP. Aren't using shortcuts about the only way you can do Juri's instant Shikusen, and Zangief's ground SPD?"
SF4 has too hard of execution? I agree that 1f links are a bit of fake difficulty but even then there are easier combos. This is the new mentality out there thanks to this game.

Typical entitled behavior. I'm glad I stopped following the English speaking fighting game scene.

People want the game to carry them, and you know that the easy mode stuff they put in there was largely catered to westerners. No doubt about it. It's not so much the game is dumbed that gets to me. It's that people act the way they do about it. As long as it's not artificial difficulty, a video game should be challenging. I remember playing Ninja Gaiden on X-Box for the first time and how that game served me hard. It was very frustrating at first. But, I discovered the main reason I was doing so bad was because I kept doing unsafe shit, mashing and generally not blocking or memorizing my best combos. Even though it's not a fighting game, since it was made by Tomonobu Itagaki it had alot of Fighting game concepts: Recovery Time, Hit-stuns, safe and unsafe, etc. My point is that people want instant gratification instead of delayed gratification that comes from putting alot of time into a hobby. They want to be the best now instead of later. It's the same thing with poseurs. Anime scene for example of filled with poseurs. People who've been watching at best for 3-5 years and have only seen less than 100 different shows. Then they go on sites like MAL and show off how much anime they've seen. It's because it became so easy to get into due to the explosion of digital fansubs. Now it's a massive bandwagon and It's gotten to the point where I refuse to talk about anime with anyone. It's the same with Fighting Games, I used to love talking about them before SF4.

It's the same with Fighting Games, I used to love talking about them before SF4. Well that's what happens when you try to make it super mainstream, it will be dumbed down and people will jump the bandwagon without actually knowing anything. Look at how bad music has gotten. Nobody wants to learn fundamentals, nobody wants to actually improve; they just want to win. Even Juicebox was saying this, particularly about Western players. People just wanted handed to them without actually working for it. Modern games are like this in general. Back in the day you might have had some cheap difficulty in some cases but you still get better and learn how to play other games better. Kof xiii would teach you skills that carry over to other fighters, because you're learning it "legit". Same with Virtua Fighter. SF4 lets you take a shortcut and feel "accomplished". Just nonsense all around.

Lol, that website is just ugly and hard to look at.
But those people are morons. It doesn't have anything to do with equality in living standards. I was talking to Peter Schiff the other day and we were discussing that.
People in a communist society are equal- equally poor. The only people who are rich in those societies are government thieves.
Capitalism had millionaires and billionaires, but you also had a higher standard of living compared to anywhere else. We were much richer in our prime than other socialist societies, even the poor and middle class were.
And the statement about how the wealth grows from the bottom up is just nonsense. People really don't understand how an economy grows. You don't spend your way into prosperity.

I'm so sick and tired of marxist class warfare rhetoric in American culture. People can't utter a word without: "Evil corporations this" or "Fair share". These people are disgusting.

That's what annoys me, and you have to listen to it, but when you call them Marxists they deny they are just like they did at the MGTOW forum. You say blatantly socialist stuff but I can't call you out on it? Whatever. It would be one thing if they could intellectually argue their point, but they can't. It's just. "Evil Greedy Businessmen enslaving us all, etc etc etc. Stupid.
