Me, being a fan of the classics have been watching many of the movies made several decades ago. I must say they really did feel like masterpieces compared to what you often see now, movies aimed at the masses with fanservice in one way or another. What are some movies you like that you would consider classic?

I'm not a movie buff but, I agree modern movies tend to skew to much into: Sequels, PRequels, Reboots, Nostalgaia baiting, etc. Not as bad as modern music, but still.

I never considered myself a "movie buff", I guess I just like a little of everything. I have watched movies over the years, and I just like a lot of what they put out then.
Basically how you see games is what you'll notice in movies. Movies in the past tended to have more of an artistic merit about it. Better substance and plot. Instead of just the mainstream celeb stuff you see now. There's a reason they keep rebooting old stuff. The older movies made you think instead of the movies thinking for you like they do now.

I've read somewhere that movies and video games. Because they're so expensive to make. Companies want more stability. So, they rely more on established franchises. I think that's overall true, big budget leads to less risk and creativity.

Hence less art and more flash.
