Street Fighter 5's CFN update now available for pre-download - trials vol. 2, balance changes added and already playable Street Fighter 5's servers are currently down for maintenance in preparation for the game's next large update. The CFN improvements, next DLC character, new stages, and more are set to drop once the servers come back online around 9 p.m. PDT tonight, but you don't have to wait until then to begin getting ready. Right now, the patch is available for pre-download on PlayStation 4. This update comes in at a 11.175 GB file size and brings Street Fighter 5 up to version 1.10. As with typical pre-downloads, the new content will not be available until the servers are back. This is simply a measure that allows fans to bypass the waiting process later, so be sure to kick off your pre-download now. More combo trials have been added to Street Fighter 5. Now, players can access "vol. 2" which gives 10 new combo missions for each character on the roster and incorporates their Season 2 changes. You can access these trails as soon as your pre-download is finished. Check out the image gallery above to see what the trials menu looks like with the new addition. Additionally, Street Fighter 5 Season 2's upcoming balance changes are live now. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/silverimmaculateasianpiedstarlingSource: eventhubs

First footage of the new Flamenco Tavern stage in Street Fighter 5 plus commands for performing Vega's new 'Bloody Garden' cage dives Flamenco Tavern is on its way this evening along with Street Fighter 5's Season 2.5 update, and we've got some early footage of the game's third Shadaloo boss stage for you right now. As per Street Fighter 2, Vega is actually able to jump up onto the cage for his stage-specific "Bloody Garden" dive attacks. You'll note that the character uses a bar of EX meter to jump up, and though he flashes yellow a second time, he is not charged with another bar when performing the second half of the sequences: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Listen to the new Temple Hideout and Flamenco Tavern stage themes for Street Fighter V Bison’s hangout gets its new tunes, and we get our first listen to Vega’s stage theme as well. As the big Street Fighter V update is in progress today, we’re naturally getting some sneak peeks at what will go live later tonight. One of the things on the patch list is the revised theme for M. Bison’s classic Thailand stage, the Temple Hideout–originally removed due to concerns about religious references in the background music. It’s coming back tonight, and VesperArcade has already provided an extended version of the music to check out: You can compare it to the original here. Xuses has also uploaded the theme for Vega’s incoming classic Spain stage, the Flamenco Tavern. Have a listen to it here: Source: eventhubs & shoryuken

Heres an article from eventhubs: X-Kira shows off the 'Extra Battle' mode gameplay and options which Capcom teased in previous post So we've been hearing about the datamining surrounding the "Extra Battle" mode that will, supposedly, allow players to fight against the NPC characters we saw during SFV's story mode. X-Kira has posted a video showcasing some of the features of this mode. Being that the background is completely black while X-Kira is selecting options for the mode, we can assume that this is still heavily a work in progress. Interestingly enough, a lot of the options are similar to what you would see in training mode like dummy settings. If the game allows you to set the dummy to being human controlled, then could allow players to play as the NPC characters. We see Decapre, an unplayable character in SFV currently, as the dummy in this case. As pointed out by X-Kira in a Facebook post, this mode has already been confirmed by Capcom in a previous update from nearly a year ago. "New single player modes including Extra Battle and Versus CPU are also in the works," according to Harrison of Capcom-Unity. "We’ll share more details on these modes and features as soon as we can." Since then, we haven't gotten anymore official details about the mode aside from it's confirmed existence.

Street Fighter V is getting another School Uniform Written by: NyuNozomiHyuga Last time we gotten some school uniforms which was only limited to Ryu, Chun-Li, & Juri. But as of recently during Capcom's Unity E3 Broadcast has recently shown that Nash, Ibuki, & R. Mika are getting school uniforms which are continuation according to Harrison. There is currently no word on they're going to be released, but they will cost $3.99/400 Yen/3.99 Euro. The Street Fighter 5 segment begins at around 1:28:30 in the stream archive. xhttps://www.twitch.tv/videos/151616537 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Street Fighter V also getting an Offline Ranking System? Besides the game has mentioned more costumes for E3, in other news something was spotted in E3 Build's Versus Mode. Which there looks like an empty rank symbol which is under the health bars during matches. These photos were taken by BurnoutFighter to give us a better view of the icons. There might be more stuff coming for SFV besides the costumes. Source: eventhubs

Capcom enters into cross-licensing agreement with Bandai Namco to improve online experience for properties such as Street Fighter Capcom has announced a new partnership with Bandai Namco, but it's not exactly for the reason you might think. According to a press release this morning, the company aims to improve "online matching" in properties such as the Street Fighter. "The purpose of this agreement is to improve the user experience while accelerating the production of titles and reducing development costs for both parties," the press release states. This cross-licensing agreement will also allow Capcom to bring more exciting content to Street Fighter and future titles. Capcom will use this partnership as a way to gauge future collaborations. This may lead to even better user experiences and a healthier game industry down the road. Though the press release doesn't directly state it, this is very likely referencing Street Fighter 5. If that's the case, this is quite interesting for the game's future. It is no secret that one of Street Fighter 5's largest issues is its online experience. From constant server maintenance to slow matchmaking (which was addressed in the recent update), the game has struggled with connectivity since launch. With assistance from Bandai Namco, we could potentially see a stronger experience overall. Not only that, but the acceleration of title production may also lead to faster release times for new content and game updates. Generally speaking, when two companies partner up it is usually for some sort of IP crossover. We've seen Capcom and Bandai Namco come together in the past to create Street Fighter X Tekken, and most recently witnessed Street Fighter's Akuma make a guest appearance as a playable character in Tekken 7. While this press release is centered around online matching and not on future projects, it could potentially open the door for more crossovers. We'll just have to wait and see. This is certainly an interesting development for Capcom fans. It will be fascinating to see what kind of improvements this partnership will garner down the road. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Possible Leak of Super Street Fighter V Written By: NyuNozomiHyuga There is an alleged leak about a Super Street Fighter V that was seen from reddit which he also leaked a Marvel vs Capcom Infinite: www.reddit.com/r/Kappa/comments/6eqnpt/because_incompetence_has_consequences_heres_mvci/Which SSFV is going to offer new game modes from Second Story Mode, Arcade Mode, and a PVE (against Illuminati). 6 characters consisting of Sagat, Sakura, Oro, C. Viper, Q, & Necro. Many other things explained by Vesper Arcade: Source: eventhubs

Abigail Info Content Written By: NyuNozomiHyuga Since Abigail is coming today, we got some stuff on what to expect from Abigail. For starters we have his movelist, stuns, & vitality we also have character introduction which we get to see his V-Skill & V-Trigger: Next up we have a WSO Session which talks about Abigail which is 3 hours long showing his capabilities, and classic costumes of Juri & Alex(50:27): Here are some info on how Abigail works: Normals: Several of Abigail's punches find use at mid-range and up close. His standing light punch leads into a quick target combo. Standing medium punch is great for pressure and can combo into his back + heavy punch, which also has a target combo tied to it. Abigail also has a sweep that sees him rolling forward and hits twice with the first hit being V-Trigger cancellable. To further open up his foes, forward + medium punch is an overhead that can be combo-ed after if it lands as a counter hit. xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ImpartialCreativeWeaselDancingBanana xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/SweetNimbleJackalWholeWheat xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/TastyEnchantingHabaneroTheThing Special moves: If Abigail's normals didn't seem strong enough, you'll be happy to know that he really shines when it comes to special moves. His Nitro Charge is an armored run that gives him four follow ups, including a command throw and an overhead. Abigail doesn't need his Nitro Charge to land a command throw, however. When up close to the opponent, he can fire into another that does great damage and leads into a wall bounce combo if the EX version is used. One of his main pressure tools is the ground pound. The light and medium versions keep him stationary, while the heavy version makes Abigail flip into the air and can travel over projectiles. The heavy version is also plus on block, so your opponent is susceptible to a command throw right after blocking, even if they try to use a 3 frame normal. Abigail's rapid uppercut special move is his main combo finisher. You can score more hits by mashing punches during the animation, and this move can be buffered into normals such as crouching medium kick for a solid punish at certain ranges. xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/SavageFrozenMushroomKAPOW xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/SpookyPeacefulSpiderDendiFace xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AdorablePunchyOryxDendiFace xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/HandsomePrettiestNeanderthalTwitchRPG xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/HungryBusyPenguinDerp xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/NastyConsiderateElephantAliens V-Trigger: In V-Trigger, Abigail gains the ability to charge his heavy punch attacks. These lead to extended combos, gives the normals armor, and can even guard crush the opponent opening them up for a punish. xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/CoyOutstandingStorkTebowing Cross up: Despite his excellent options on the ground and his size, Abigail has a cross up to further mix up opponents. Jumping over and hitting medium kick works as a traditional cross up and allows Abigail to combo if it lands. xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/GiantOpenSoybeanCeilingCat Anti-air jab: Jumping at Abigail isn't the best decision for players to make. He can anti-air with forward + heavy punch, crouching heavy punch, and most effectively standing light punch. With jab, he can immediately cancel into his run for a meaty command throw mix up. If you get hit with jab in the air, be careful... xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/AmazonianHomelyCasettePeteZaroll Stopping projectiles: Most large characters that fall closer to the grappler playstyle struggle with fireball-heavy characters. Luckily, Abigail has ways of dealing with projectiles. When timed correctly, his ground pound can negate fireballs, but your weapon of choice here will be back + heavy punch. Abigail can swat fireballs away with ease, and in V-Trigger he can deflect them back at his opponent if the normal is fully charged. xhttps://clips.twitch.tv/ObliviousTawdryCoyoteMVGame We also have the producer of Street Fighter cosplaying as Abigail during the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary panel at San Diego Comic Con:

Street Fighter 5 server maintenance for Abigail, costumes, and stages tomorrow from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. PDT
As is traditional with new Street Fighter 5 content, we have a server maintenance period for the game tomorrow. This is necessary for Capcom to get everything ready for release.
Starting tomorrow, we will be able to download and play as Abigail. This hulking fighter is bigger than any other fighter that's been playable in the Street Fighter series so far.
In addition to this, we will be getting a number of costumes for several characters. There are also a few stages that might catch your interest.
The first theme focuses on classic costumes for characters. Characters like Alex and Juri will finally be able to put on their nostalgic outfits. There's been an agonizingly long wait for these...
Next, there is a sports theme going on. Laura, Rashid, and Ibuki players will enjoy these costumes.
Finally, we're getting the Suzaku Castle classic stage and Abigail's stage. Don't forget about the "Ring of Pride" stage and Liquid|NuckleDu's champion's choice Guile costume going live too.
Unfortunately, this will have to come after the maintenance period tomorrow. It will start at 10 A.M. and last until 5:00 P.M. PDT.

EVO 2017 ESPN Stirkes Again with Banning Outfits Written By: Nyu Nozomi Hyuga Last time we had big TV station telling fellow players to change outfits was back at EVO 2016 where Fuudo was required to use R. Mika Story Costume because the default costume was "too revealing", but guess who is the next victim of staff telling players what costumes they need to use for ESPN standards when I saw recent episode of CG News Recap (Youtube: Censored Gaming). Since 1993 where Cammy made her first debut in Super Street Fighter II where she wore her green leotard outfit which looks like this: But once again ESPN couldn't show Cammy's iconic default costume thanks to our source oneangrygamer: www.oneangrygamer.net/2017/07/cammys-street-fighter-5-default-outfit-was-banned-on-espn-due-to-broadcast-standards/35278/If broadcasting standards like this would lead to less sexy outfits for fighting games by the FGC becoming mainstream, I would rather see the entire genre extinct rather than fighting game companies having to tone down their content just to appeal BS broadcasting standards.

Prominent PC modders reportedly receive DMCA Takedown notice from Capcom for paywalled Street Fighter 5 mods
Two of the most recognizable PC modders in the fighting game community are scaling operations after receiving DMCA Takedown notices issued by Capcom. According to one of the persons involved, these notices were handed down by Patreon due to their mod-focused pages on the membership platform.
A DMCA Takedown occurs when content is removed from a website at the request of the original content / copyright owner. This is an established internet standard followed by website owners and internet service providers.
A post from Khaledantar666, one of the aforementioned PC modders, explains that both they and BrutalAce were issued the notice. The message notes that Khaledantar666's Patreon creator page would be taken down within 48 hours (of the time it was written), and we can see that it is no longer available.
"The DMCA notice was issued because Capcom is stating that we (modders) are using copyrighted materials to make our mods and earn something from our work," Khaledantar666's statement reads. He goes on to say that though activity on Patreon will cease, they will continue to create mods and operate on their various other channels.
At this time, it appears that Capcom is only targeting mods that are locked behind a paywall. We have reached out to Capcom for comment on the matter and are currently awaiting a response.
BrutalAce also posted a going away message on Patreon yesterday morning, but cites different reasons for the hiatus. "I just wanted to say that I am going to quit releasing mods for unknown amount of time," BrutalAce wrote. "I know it's not the best decision but one can only face that much hate and salt."
The message continues, stating that misconceptions and negative feedback from the Reddit community, as well as a ban from ZetaBoards -- a forum with a devoted community of PC modders / discussion -- have attributed heavily to the indefinite break.

This situation got messy. I can see both sides of the argument but I think they messed up when they put paywalls behind Capcom's content.
I made a patreon page a few days ago for my other site. It's definitely good for creative people.

Next Street Fighter 5 DLC character to be revealed during Hong Kong eSports Festival top 8 Capcom announced this evening that the next Street Fighter 5 DLC character would be announced during the Hong Kong eSports Festival 2017 top 8 competition. www.eventhubs.com/news/2017/aug/25/hong-kong-esports-festival-2017-live-stream-ft-haitani-daigo-fuudo-mov-kazunoko-infiltration-momochi-poongko-gamerbee-yukadon-mago-and-more/Capcom's tweet appears to show the Street Fighter 5 logo encased in a crystal ball, something we've associated with The Fortune Teller character, who may be named Menat. The Fortune Teller is likely Rose's apprentice, and makes an appearance in Ed's story mode. If this character is indeed Menat, it would mark her as the 5th DLC fighter for Season 2 of Street Fighter 5, following the releases of Akuma, Kolin, Ed and Abigail. The Hong Kong eSports Festival 2017 tournament is a Capcom Pro Tour premier event, which as of the time of this writing is in the top 16 portion of the competition. If the schedule holds to form, the reveal may happen around 3 or 4 a.m. PDT / 6 or 7 a.m. EDT, but with tournaments, you never quite know how things will shake out in regards to timing. Menat announced for Street Fighter 5 During the top 8 of the Hong Kong eSports Festival, a Capcom Pro Tour premier event, Menat was revealed as the 5th DLC character for Season 2 of Street Fighter 5. Menat was featured in Ed's story mode as The Fortune Teller, and is likely Rose's apprentice. She will become available to the public on August 29, 2017, this Tuesday, so gamers won't have to wait long to get their hands on the brand new fighter. Menat seems to be heavily based around her crystal ball, which she uses for a variety of mix ups, combos and attacks. It's also a juggling tool. She even has a dive kick which looks to be effective in baiting throws. Rounding out some of the other moves showcased in the trailer, she appears to have a slide attack, and a reflect move to deal with projectiles. Her V-Trigger summons six orbs on screen, and they attack the opponent one at a time, plus can be used in conjunction with her crystal ball. She seems to be a character who primarily focuses on mix ups and stylish play, setting the opponent up for rough scenarios which are difficult to block or counter. You can find her trailer below to watch her in action for yourself. Source: eventhubs
