Street Fighter 5 server maintenance begins today at 8 a.m. PDT in preparation for latest content New content is on its way to Street Fighter 5 Season 2 this week. Before we can access it, however, we'll have to wade through seven hours of server maintenance. The official SFV Server Twitter account sent out a tweet 2 days ago with the details. We can expect Street Fighter 5 to be offline today (Tuesday, August 29th) from 8 a.m. PDT to about 3 p.m. PDT in order to prepare for the game's latest content update. On the plus side, we are often given the opportunity to pre-download the update ahead of time, even when the servers are down, to bypass the waiting period when the game comes back online. Not only that, but often times we see the servers return before the scheduled ending time. So, what's included in the latest update? For starters, fans will be able to access Season 2's newest combatant, Menat. We saw her reveal trailer over the weekend, and in it we learned that she has several tools at her disposal, including a crystal ball that aids her in battle. Additionally, the latest batch of alternate costumes is being released. These outfits celebrate Street Fighter's 30th anniversary and give new looks to M. Bison, Karin, Ibuki, and Guile. Menat now available in Street Fighter 5 Season 2 Street Fighter 5's latest update is now live. Today, fans gain access to Season 2's newest combatant, Menat, as well as a batch of new costumes. Menat is the apprentice of a famous Italian fortune teller. Her fighting style revolves around her crystal sphere, which she controls with her Soul Power. With this power, she can extend the base of her attacks, giving her an advantage at longer ranges. She is also capable of sending the crystal ball out at the opponent to disrupt attacks, where she can later call it back. To master Menat, you'll have to know when to use her crystal ball, keeping opponents in check, and when to unleash it to create unpredictable mixups. You can also purchase Menat solo for 100k Fight Money or $5.99. In celebration of Street Fighter's 30th anniversary, Capcom has also released a set of special costume for Street Fighter 5. Guile, Ibuki, M. Bison, and Karin each get spiffy new looks. Each one is available on PlayStation 4 and Steam for $3.99. Source: eventhubs

Either that or I just like to hit a lot of buttons! You get a chance to try her out? Shes a pretty wonky character until you figure out the tricks. So don't get freaked out by how unresponsive her v-trigger feels at first!

Well, I finally fixed SF5 on my laptop. I had this issue where everything ran in slo-mo offline. I couldn't figure it out, I thought disabling V-sync would help but it didn't. After countless trial and error and even reinstalling the game I found a solution. Turns out the Beta left some gunk in the registry (which I haven't been able to find). So, the suggested you log into another user on your computer and that seemed to fix it.

Heres Meants Capabilities from eventhubs: Menat is the apprentice of a famous Italian fortune teller. Her fighting style revolves around her crystal sphere, which she controls with her Soul Power. With this power, she can extend the base of her attacks, giving her an advantage at longer ranges. She is also capable of sending the crystal ball out at the opponent to disrupt attacks, where she can later call it back While the crystal sphere is out, she can cancel any normal attack and her V-Skill into Soul Sphere: Ankh, calling the crystal ball back to her, greatly increasing her combo potential. To master Menat, you'll have to know when to use her crystal ball, keeping opponents in check, and when to unleash it to create unpredictable mixups. V-Skill: Soul Reflect - Kamal - Produce a shock wave attack from her soul power. While the crystal sphere is retracted, this lets her reflect the average projectile back at the opponent. If the crystal ball was sent out into battle prior to using her V-Skill, this will absorb the projectile to help build up her v-gauge. This can also be used to launch the opponent into the air to help extend combos. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/cheerywhirlwindkusimanseV-Trigger: Wisdom of Thoth - Menat summons six spheres with her soul power andeach sphere is linked to her normal attacks. Pressing and releasing of a normal attack sends the sphere linked to that attack flying at the opponent. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/limpgrayafricangroundhornbillCritical Art: The Nefertem - Menat sends her crystal sphere to bind her soul power with the opponent to deal devastating damage. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/jadedweeklyinganue

Chun-Li is also getting three more costumes, each of which is designed by Akiman. This time we have an undercover INTERPOL outfit, vacation attire, and sleepwear. With October just around the corner, fans will also be able to purchase brand new Halloween costumes for five different characters on the roster. Dhalsim, M. In addition to this, last year's Halloween costumes for Alex, Cammy, Nash, Necalli, Juri, Ryu, and Vega will go on sale again as a bundle. Each of them can be purchased individually, and the bundle will include the Spooky Arena stage. www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2017/sep/25/new-street-fighter-5-costumes-sept-26-2017/1/Street Fighter 5 fans can also grab the brand new stage: English Manor. "It’ll take all your willpower to not be distracted by the beauty of this picturesque stage." At the time, there was no image to go along with this description. Street Fighter V Final Season Pass 2 Character At South East Asia Major 2017 this weekend, Capcom delivered as promised. The last character of Street Fighter 5's Season 2 is finally upon us, and as had been expected, it's Guy's former master, Zeku. As the 38th successor of the Bushinryu School, he's a veteran combatant and a seasoned ninja warrior who helped forge Guy into the competent fighter he is today. Although it's a bit hard to tell what exactly is going on, Zeku seems to have two different appearances he can shift between, one much younger than his regular one, and looking very Strider-esque. It appears as though this newcomer may tag team with another member of his ninja clan while fighting. Though it's early, this may suggest a multi-stance character not unlike Gen from Street Fighter 4, or Vega with or without his claw in SF5. Zeku will be available for purchase on October 24th. For more Zeku action images check gallery 1-7 here: www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2017/oct/15/street-fighter-5-zeku-gallery/1/Source: eventhubs

Zeku's movelist and stats listed for Street Fighter 5 Zeku's stats and movelist have been revealed. We can now learn how to perform the moves we saw during his trailer. Similar to Guy, he has a number of moves that have follow ups. There's a great deal of complexity with his moves. It will certainly take some time in order to master this fighter. In terms of his stats, it's nothing too surprising. He falls in the average range - 1,000 health and 1,000 stun. Zeku is unique in that he actually has two separate movesets. Use the Shukumyo command (down, down + 2x punches) in order to switch from the old form into the young form and vice versa. Old Form Young Form V-Skill: Fukuro (Older Self), Tenpo Kari (Younger Self) - Zeku performs a special technique that transforms him to his younger self, completely changing his move set. He can then use Tenpo Kari to transform back. Depending on the directional input you press after the V-Skill connects, Zeku will teleport either in front or behind the opponent. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/sharppassionatearawanaV-Trigger: Bushinryu Shinge Kiko - Allows Zeku to perform a single special dash that can be followed up with a custom combo that deals additional hits. Both forms have the same V-Trigger. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/milkybothconureBatsuzan Gaisei - Upon kicking the opponent in the air, Zeku follows up with a flurry of strikes while switching forms before stomping them into the ground. Zeku’s Critical Art is the same for both forms. gfycat.com/gifs/detail/peskysnappyindri-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Capcom's Tutorial on Zeku game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/promotion/zkuGallery: www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2017/oct/16/zeku-street-fighter-5/2/Source: eventhubs

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition's Extra Battle will reward players with monthly premium costumes, and one might be Viewtiful Joe One of the new modes coming included with Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is Extra Battle. This feature presents new challenges to players each month that will give them the opportunity to unlock special premium costumes. The Shadaloo CRI has given us our first glimpse of what we can expect to see out of this mode, and it is certainly interesting. First, here is the official description of Extra Battle from today's press release. "In Extra Battle Mode, a new series of time exclusive challenges will be available for players to use their Fight Money for the chance to receive an exclusive premium outfit each month. Complete all four challenges each month and receive a special premium costume exclusive to this mode." According to the official Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition fact sheet, the ability to unlock premium costumes will run throughout 2018. If we indeed see one costume each month, that means we might be looking at 12 all-new costumes to use in-game. Extra Battle will pit players against unique enemies, such as golden-colored Shadaloo soldiers, to earn Fight Money. The Shadaloo CRI notes that there may even be opponents "wearing special alternate costumes...?!" As we see from the fourth screenshot below, Rashid is dressed as Viewtiful Joe -- a character from another Capcom IP. Though the post does not specify whether or not this will be one of the special, unlockable premium costumes, it does seem like a lot of effort to just be a random opponent you face. www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2017/oct/05/street-fighter-5-arcade-edition-extra-battle-screenshots/1/What's also intriguing about the Extra Battle description is the mention that players will "use their Fight Money for the chance to receive an exclusive premium outfit each month." Based on the phrasing of that statement, it sounds like players might have to pay Fight Money to participate in these challenges or something along those lines. Considering you'll be unlocking a premium costume for your troubles, I guess it does make sense that a Fight Money requirement would be involved. Source: eventhubs

All new Sports costumes for Zangief, Kolin and Karin coming to Street Fighter 5 Street Fighter announced via Twitter that a second round of sport-themed costumes are coming to Street Fighter 5. This time it's Zangief, Kolin and Karin that're getting new outfits as they prepare to compete in their three respective competitions of choice. Zangief looks like he's straight out of The Road Warrior, though perhaps his reference is actually a gladiator? Keeping in step with her cold, Russian origins, Kolin dons a figure skater's uniform complete with white ice skates. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maintenance period for Street Fighter 5 scheduled for Zeku and new costumes release Today is the big day for Street Fighter 5 fans. The day in which the last Season 2 character, Zeku, is released. I'm sure we all know what that means. It's time for another maintenance period so Capcom can make the preparations. It's not just Zeku being added to the game tomorrow, of course. We also have some new costumes incoming. Three fighters will be receiving costumes. They are Zangief, Kolin, and Karin. This maintenance period is scheduled to start at 11:00 A.M. and last until 5:00 P.M. PDT. Six hours in total. For the East Coast, this period will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. For the Europeans, this will be from 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and will end on 2:00 A.M. on Wednesday. Being the rich girl that she is, Karin is ready for a day at the races as a horse jockey. Peter 'Combofiend' Rosas leaves Capcom after five years
It was announced over at Capcom Unity that Peter 'Combofiend' Rosas will be leaving Capcom after five years of working for the company. Peter cites his interest in getting people to play Capcom's fighters during his time there.
As indicated in the farewell message, Peter feels as though it's time for a new generation to work on the company's games.
"I’ve been fortunate enough to work on the games that shaped my life, a definite dream come true, but now I feel it’s time for the next generation to be able to do the same," said Peter. "There’s no doubt in my mind that the current generation has their own unique ideas that will push Capcom’s fighting games forward in terms of innovation and evolution."
He mentions being interested in seeing what ideas come up in the future from the newer generation. He believes that they will provide innovative and unique ideas.
Peter notes that the "interactions and experiences" that's he had with people are among his most memorable experiences. Things appear to be in good terms as he notes that he is will be joining the community again as a Capcom fan.
It remains to be seen if he will return to competing now that he is no longer employed by Capcom. He was, after all, a top level competitor in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4 back in the day.
Though Peter was a very strong Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 player in his early days, newer players in the community took particular notice of him after his legendary "Bionic Arm" moment against Marn at Final Round 14.
In Marvel vs. Capcom 3, he was particularly known for his innovation of Nathan Rad Spencer's meta. Especially the usage of the invincible "Bionic Arm" hyper combo.
Despite being in situations where he'd have two of his characters KOed, he'd be able to make some rather spectacular comebacks with just Spencer.
In Street Fighter 4, he was well regarded as a talented Abel and, later on, Oni player. His play style emphasized his very strong rushdown abilities.
For awhile, he also was a member of CompLexity / Cross Counter along with Gootecks and Mike Ross. Shortly after leaving, he was employed by Capcom.
During his time with Capcom, he was a community manager. He also assisted with the gameplay and balance of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Street Fighter 5, and Ultra Street Fighter 4.
He's been credited as an associate producer for Street Fighter 5 and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, production for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, design in Ultra Street Fighter 4, and public relations for Strider (2014) and Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara.

New V-Triggers, combo extenders and more shown for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition
Red Bull Battle Grounds has concluded, and following the exciting event was a new reveal for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition.
We've known that new V-Triggers are on the way, but we haven't seen much in the way of footage until now.
The trailer shows off new attacks for Ibuki, R. Mika, Nash, Ken, Birdie and others as they devastate foes with all new techniques.
Ibuki looks to have all new mix ups utilizing a Fuuma Shuriken, Ken sends his foes up to new heights with a humongous fire Shoryuken.
The video was uploaded with a note from Capcom, "Street Fighter V players will receive the free Arcade Edition update. In addition to an all-new Arcade Mode and new monthly challenges via Extra Battle Mode, every character will receive a second V-Trigger attack. These are but just a few to get you thinking of new possibilities for 2018 and beyond…"

Many people are blaming Combofiend for the decline of the games recently. Capcom has been making some "meh" stuff if you ask me. I heard people blaming Peter before too lol. Looking back at the stage demo, I remember how excited I was about SFV too. Too bad they nerfed Chun in both visuals and moves but on a serious note what killed this game was Capcom rushing it out because they wanted to get it out in time for Evo 2016. They should have delayed it because the game clearly wasn't finished, but they tried too hard to appeal to FGC and ignored the casual fanbase which sealed this games fate. People like Peter and other FGC guys that work for Capcom just makes things worst because these people represent a constituent that will always support Capcom no matter how bad it's product is. MVC:I was the textbook example of that.
