At least they had a beta. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/jul/24/street-fighter-5-beta-put-indefinite-hiatus-until-further-notice-will-be-re-announced-later-date/Announced on the Street Fighter Facebook page this morning, the Street Fighter 5 beta is now being put on an indefinite hiatus for extended maintenance, to try and repair the issues found during yesterday's attempt.
It's worth noting that they truly mean indefinite, stating that they will re-schedule it entirely and announce a new date once it is ready for users. Here's the post in question: "We apologize for the ongoing issues that users have been experiencing with the SFV beta test. In order to allow us to fix the issues as quickly as possible, we are going to initiate a period of extended maintenance, during which time the beta will be unavailable to all users."
"We will let you know the date on which the closed beta test will re-open once all problems have been fixed. We sincerely apologize for having to bring this unfortunate news to you. Thank you for your patience. Please stay tuned for further updates."

Netcode Reports: As many have heard, and experienced first hand, it's a task in and of itself to actually make it into the beta, but once you pass that hurdle, we're finding that things are actually pretty fun.
The team at EventHubs have been playing as much of the Street Fighter 5 beta as possible, and we have some general impressions for you thus far.
Since the beta exists primarily to test the online experience, we've focused our analysis accordingly, looking at overall connection and ease of general gameplay.
Given Capcom's intention to make SF5 more simple than its predecessor in terms of technicality, it should lend itself to online play with a bit more fluidity. Hit the jump to see what we've found.
Netcode
We're still on our way to finding the lagless online fighter, but we're pretty happy with SF5 thus far. The new netcode won't save a horrible connection, but what it does extremely well is make an average connection stronger, and a good one great.
So far it's a definite improvement over Street Fighter 4's netcode. Connections can be a bit spotty when you're looking to react and punish moves, but the timing and feel of things is very nice so far.
Gameplay
Links should be inputted quickly, you should even be able to mash them out. It doesn't necessarily feel like input lag, but you can't really go at the same, lumbering pace you're used to from USF4. We were able to link Cammy's B+HP after F+HK very consistently. Even online, we were hitting combos much more easily than expected.
Kiss the power of crouching lights goodbye. Standing light attacks have become the new kings for confirms. Often, you'll be able to link a crouching light to a standing light, but remember that most characters can only get to a medium through a standing light of some sort. Plinking still exists, but it hardly seems necessary given the ease of combos now.
As a bonus, here's a 566 damage combo that Dreamking found with Cammy:
We're interested to hear your thoughts on the beta. Was your experience similar to ours, or was it horrific? Please let us know in the comments below.

Not SF5, but... www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/jul/27/mortal-kombat-x-tops-best-selling-chart-2015-so-far/Mortal Kombat X was release in April of this year, and so far, its sales have been strong.
How strong, you ask? Well, according to Fortune -- a business magazine published by Time -- Mortal Kombat X is the best selling of the year so far.
It should be noted that the sales numbers calculated were not console specific, but actually illustrate the total number of copies sold across all platforms. Additionally, this chart lists the best-selling games, not best-selling new releases. Hence, you'll see games such as Super Smash Bros. 4 make an appearance.
Hit the jump to check out the top 10 best-selling games of 2015. 1. Mortal Kombat X 2. Grand Theft Auto V 3. Battlefield Hardline 4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 5. Minecraft 6. Batman: Arkham Knight 7. Dying Light 8. NBA 2K15 9. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 10. Super Smash Bros

Yea I read that. Here's something SFV related though: www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/jul/27/street-fighter-5-beta-officially-postponed-combofiend-addresses-community/After the multitude of issues in launching Street Fighter 5's first beta run, Capcom has officially decided to withdraw from the battle for the time being so they can offer a more user-friendly experience.
Associate Producer for SF5, Peter "Combofiend" Rosas, has written up an apologetic response to the community:
"After three days of testing, while we were making progress and collecting valuable data, we felt the majority of players were not having a good experience, and the best course of action would be to take the servers offline for extended maintenance."
He doesn't stop there however, as he goes on to discuss some of Capcom's plans to make things right with the community in terms of the beta testing process for SF5.
Hit the jump to see what else Combofiend had to say. It seems Capcom still plans to give us three full beta tests as intended, as this rough start will not count towards that quota.
"To be clear, this first beta test attempt will not count toward our previously announced beta test allotments. There will still be at least three full beta tests prior to the game’s launch. So for those in the Americas that feel disappointed that they were not able to experience their pre-order incentive, there will be plenty of opportunities prior to launch to experience the game.
Additionally, we are working on a worthwhile in-game incentive for the players that participated in the first beta test. While we can't confirm specifics just yet, we will have more details on this in the coming weeks."
Rosas goes on to address European and Asian players as well. You can read his entire letter on Capcom Unity.

Just started to make plans to upgrade my pc for this game. Hopefully all I need to do is upgrade my graphics card and power supply. Anyone have any idea what type of specs are gonna be required? Speaking as someone who knows nothing about modern pc gaming. Capcom pls. So far I only like what isn't in the game. Still don't like how they try to balance characters by changing health but I guess they will never change :/

Doesn't seem to be much more demanding than SF4, but I haven't seen any official demands yet. How do you feel about the game overall?

I just sent all my specs to a friend to see if my mobo (learning new terms now lol) is good enough or not. Problem is I bought this pc with work in mind so it was just a pre build. My current is an integrated AMD Radeon HD 7660D RAM 8 gigs. Honestly I dont know what other information would be important at this point. My mobo is very hard for me to research nothing pops up :/ MSI 2AE0 is its name and serial? I think I figured out I need to find a graphics card that fits in the PCI Express x16 2.0. I read somewhere that 3.0 versions are backwards compatible but I don't really wanna take that risk. I haven't been hands on with it yet so hopefully I'll learn enough to upgrade it by myself in the future without my friend lol

Yes I'm well aware I need a dedicated one and no its a desktop. Like I said I bought it with the intention to use it for work not gaming. Its a good enough to run sf4 fully but I guess thats the same as saying my trash can holds trash. I didn't take anything apart yet but I feel like hes gonna make me buy a new mobo cpu psu and graphic card. I guess I don't really care how much money I put into it since I already decided not to ever buy a console again since the new gen consoles came out.

What settings are you playing SF4 on? If you want a great laptop, I always recommend Sager. They're the best price/performance ratio with great customization. I recommend Xotic PC for that. Around $1000 is a great starting price. You get the 960m which is a great card. I can find you one under that. With the utility of a laptop it's worth it. www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7170-clevo-n170sd-eta-07282015-p-8075.htmlHere's a great one. You get a large screen with a 960m and a 4720 graphics card. That will play everything you need for a long time. It'll definitely play SF5. If you were to get a laptop I'd recommend that.

ill consider it depending on what type of cash my desktop upgrade requires. If its like 700 bucks I'd probably just buy a laptop.. I'm not made of money yet and all the money I'm currently saving goes towards a piano and new car lol

The desktop vs laptop thing can be tricky for most but I recommend the laptop for most because you can game anywhere at any time. Most people don't want to be holed up in their basement or room and want to be able to move around, especially when you have college and things like that. You save some money also because you don't need as many devices so it makes up for the more expensive laptop. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Another option is a mini itx pc. the only thing is that you would have to have a monitor or tv around in order to use the pc. cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/P6040107.jpg . those cases are about the size of an xbox one or ps4. just slightly bigger

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's Vega! www.capcom-unity.com/combofiend/blog/2015/08/03/the-spanish-ninja-claws-his-way-into-street-fighter-vHey everyone!
Street Fighter V is about to get a lot more “beautiful” with the latest character reveal of the Spanish Ninja himself: Vega!
A mainstay in the franchise since his introduction in Street Fighter II, Vega believes that beauty is the truest form of strength and that he alone is the epitome of perfection. The mask he wears serves to protect his face from the blood of his victims, and his deadly three-pronged claw ensures he is able to dish out pain from a safe distance away. Learning ninjutsu at a young age from a Japanese acquaintance, Vega quickly shot up the ranks in Shadaloo, eventually becoming one of the four bosses of the criminal organization.
Top: Vega art from Super Street Fighter II
Bottom: Vega in Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Vega returns to Street Fighter V with a brand new look and new tricks up his frilly sleeves. Possessing his trademark speed and quickness, Vega now has access to two distinct fighting modes: with claw and without claw.
That’s right, he now has the ability to sheathe his claw during battle in exchange for new moves, such as a command grab, as well as new attack properties, greatly changing the way he approaches each fight. Knowing when to toggle between the two styles will be the key to success, and it also allows for new combo possibilities. Conversely, Vega will no longer be able to pick up his claw once it’s knocked off, so knowing how to fight without the claw is a must! Players who enjoy tricky movement and the technical challenge of switching between claw/no-claw fighting styles will definitely find the beauty in Vega’s play style.
V-Skill: Matador Turn
Vega swiftly dodges the opponent’s incoming attack and chooses whether to launch a quick counterattack that knocks them down or not.
V-Trigger: Bloody Kiss
Vega throws a rose at high velocity towards the opponent. If it hits, he charges behind it and delivers a series of brutal slashes that devastate the enemy. The move can be done as an anti-air from crouch or as an air attack when jumping forward, making it an extremely versatile projectile attack, as well as a combo extender.
Fans attending Gamescom this week will be able to experience the character first hand on the show floor at the Sony booth, so be sure to stop by! I’ll certainly be looking forward to seeing what players come up with once they get their hands on the character. Till next time!

Haha yeah its becoming street fighter II V. (very funny tv show) I'm just glad Vega seems different for once. Very curious if he'll have stance cancel combos like Gen 2v was awesome! I loved watching that back in high school. It's nothing against Vega, but I'd like to see someone new or Karin, Mika, Sodom or something similar. I know they have to be safe and all of that, but it just feels done with the same characters.
