She looks great, some want her even thicker lol.
Can't wait until the model is fine tuned. Also I wonder how fast command grabs will be in this game? Will they be one frame?

Copied the notes from my entry on SRK: Watched the video... Mr. Combofiend started off with st.MK, more than likely to put Mr. Ross' Ryu in check at the mid range and to stop the Ryu from using his cr. MK. Standing Heavy Kick looks slow but very lethal on hit and on block. R. Mika also linked something out of that standing Heavy Kick. That might be something to keep in mind, in case you're punishing something or setting the opponent up for failure. Also, note that Ross tried to take advantage of Ryu's cr. Heavy Kick shortly before R. Mika smacked out with the standing heavy kick. She's in the air during MK and HK. * st.HK, xx link xx st.MP, Flying Peach = 3 hit combo. Good damage. * R. Mika's st.MP also seems pretty nice tool for keeping opponents at bay while on the ground. * 2:48. R. Mika comboed into that Passion Rope Toss. st.MP, into f+MP.... or he linked into it. st.MP, f+MP~MP, (post Passion Toss towards the corner), f+HP, air throw finisher Note: The V-Skill was not even used yet. And, Ryu was stunned after the said combo. Combofiend then attempted another Passion Rope Toss combo but the window to combo might be a tad smaller when used a second time in a combo. * 2:58. R. Mika's crouching MK... appears to have decent reach. * Hang on... st. HK as a punish. Earlier in the match, it seemed like R. Mika delayed it... Crush Counter move evidently. According to the momentum gain on Combofiends behalf, R. Mika is bound to do a lot of damage. Corner pressure does not seem like anything worth joking about, unless you're suicidal. In fact, it seems like even more opportunities for combos will arise if the opponent is cornered. Otherwise, in the mid range, Passion Rope Toss could be used for positioning or for probably getting some guaranteed damage somewhere along the way (preferably if you're trying to end the match). * 3:22 - st. HK delayed again and caused a CH on Ryu. * 3:39 - The use of V-Skill. There is also armor on it as well... interesting. * The player will have to block the other way if they don't want to get hit by Nadeshiko V-Trigger (Forward+HP+HK) * 4:10 - ... That was a good finish. He did the Critical Art after st. HK. But, it was not a combo sense the red threshold disappeared shortly the cute ass slap animation (Oh that animation is so trollish... and I love it...). * Random note. R. Mika is quite bouncy on her character select animation. ... This is very important! B) * 5:52... Dash up, command grab! You might kill players if they start getting complacent. * 5: 55... And, the command grab leaves the opponent in a awkward situation, even if they tech the knockdown. R. Mika conducted a command throw again as she was nearly right in front of Necalli after the first command grab. * R. Mika's V-Skill definitely something consider if the player can get past the start up (she still gets hit on start up). After the first hit, she slams the mic down. * 6:01 - ... That throw did a lot of damage. And, there wasn't that much time passing by on the V-Skill either. Hm. * The player can control the distance on st. MK to some degree. This was also true for A3 R. Mika. * 6:30 - XD Well, that's a funny way to end it. Nadeshiko seems to come up quick from the front. Even if Necalli blocked, there would have been a mix up after that anyway. And, is just me or is R. Mika's walk speed relatively... quick? No. Just me. Forget about it. * 7:01 - Okay then. Crush Counter... which grants a juggle on mid air opponents. EX Flying Peach. EDIT: (Had to shut down computer for a moment) * 7:11 - STUNNER!! (It was going to happen at some point in this video. Of course it was). * 8:04 - Against moves like this, it would be wise to take advantage of the command grab as a block punish. Does quite a bit of damage... even without the V-Skill. * 8:28 - cr. MP... it will even hit grounded opponents. Appears to be a high and a much better anti-air than one would think. * Finished the match with the V-Trigger extension from Nadeshiko. Nothing Follows ... I can't stop looking at Rainbow Mika's portrait animation on the character select screen... I... just... can't...

... C-Master... Your name suits you QUITE well. VERY well. I'm saving that image. :] To answer your question, she is defintely viable for sure. To explain myself a little more, is because of her damage output. It is clear that R. Mika can kill the opponent rather quickly. There was a MASSIVE buff on her normals as well when you compare that to Alpha 3 (though that was years and years ago). R. Mika's cr. LK and cr. MK seem to reach pretty far. It might possible to make use of cr. HK for low profile against high angled moves and even projectiles. Make it safe (ish) on block at certain spaces. st.MP, st.MK, and even st.HK are very useful as well. st. HK would be her crush counter. Looks pretty dangerous based on what we've saw in the PAX videos. We also know it generally a bad idea to spazz out too crazily because of R. Mika's block punishment (which stems from either of her command grabs). Her corner pressure is also something to take into consideration. Last, she also increase the damage ouput of her command grabs with her V-Skill which also has a bit of armor on it. Appears to offer some sort of "intimidation" factor. V-Trigger would theoretically enhance her combo damage and she could also be able to potentially zone the opponent out and go for mix ups. Hey. We got more videos!
EDIT!!
Two more videos

I also like her drop kick, seems like a homage to Raiden. It seems like you can charge it as well. She can punish a lot of moves, has sick buttons, and her mixup tools are deadly. Her tag partner keeps the opponent guessing without feeling too random like El Fuerte.
She's a very welcome addition despite what the haters say.
Here's some more.

You know, a while back I played using Mika in Alpha 3 on FightCade, just to see how she was like. And honestly, I could understand why people would be skeptical of including her. Her damage output was mediocre, even for her command grabs and supers. She had decent normals, I got a lot of use out of her standing strong and forward, but couldn't really follow them up with anything. She didn't really have much combo potential outside of V-ism either.
Here, she looks SOO much better. Good starting damage that has the potential to get better, a v-skill that gives her armor, a v-trigger for some dangerous mix-ups and pressure, revamped movelist, and she seem like she fits right into the game this time around, like she was meant to take advantage of the games systems. In my opinion, they did what they needed to do to make her a more viable choice.

In my opinion, they did what they needed to do to make her a more viable choice. I never got that argument. I guess the R. Mika dissonance was because many simply weren't born when she was around who are playing now. The thing is many characters fluctuate through games. Cammy and Fei Long were weak in SF2 and were top in SF4. Dee Jay was good in SF2 and weak in SF4. Chun Li was bs in SF3, but weaker in SF4. V-ism didn't meld with Mika and the mechanics in that game are way different than SF4. On top of that you also have online patches and updates in this game so modern games are way more balanced. I only hope the quality is as good as the older games as SFIV was a bit of a letdown in many areas. That said I agree, she looks MUCH more solid here. Since she's an older character they could also take more liberties ala Birdie.

That's a good point actually. I used Cammy in ST and I while I did decently, she definitely struggled, but was a monster in IV. I think it's easier for people to write off R.Mika because of her design or whatever, which is dumb. If she were a strong, tournament viable character in Alpha 3 they wouldn't care but...there it is.
So far, they've been pretty great at diversifying the cast. I like that Birdie has a monster gut now. He was always supposed to be a nasty, creepy guy, and his design really suits that now.

Yea Cammy had it bad and she was popular. R. Mika was still liked at the time, just not used much competitively. I think people are just using excuses. I didn't think it was necessary for Birdie, but I do like his different playstyle now. I find the return characters to have way more exciting changes than Ryu and Chun. Ken looks neat too and reminds me of the MvC2 version.

They really surprised me with how they brought back Ken. I like that neutral stance, the run, he's literally explosive looking. If that's how they're gonna do Shotos I wouldn't mind seeing an older Sakura out of the serafuku somewhere down the line either. Chun-Li I actually really would like to try for some reason. I already like the fact I don't have to mash kick for lightning legs.
I do hope they have several alternate colors like SFIV, at the very least, or a color editor option sans the super bright neon colors so people don't slap together a bunch of colors like 4 year olds.

People are terrible with custom colors. I still like the feature though. I do hate mashing specials though. I can't really complain much about SF5 outside of the fact that they seem to be making projectiles weak. What happened to getting around zoning?

Zoning got it's ass beat a bunch of different ways in Third Strike, came back with a vengeance in IV, and is kind of taking a backseat again.
I don't think it's totally gone, but I think they're making it so that it'll be difficult to win by zoning alone, rather something you do to kill someone's momentum so you can get in their face instead.

I swear... While the constant whining is easy to ignore, at the same time the whole thing is just completely misinformed and misguided altogether. This is Street Fighter V were are talking about. People don't seem to make a big deal out of any other character but if R. Mika is mentioned... Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... Tops are blown. Never mind everything else (Chun Li's conceptualization, Cammy's costume, other elements that had been spanning for YEARS... and... pretty much ANYTHING that has to do with Juri). For the past few years, there has been this weird occurrence of crybabies whining about... costumes or characters being "sexualized". Another thing is that if you mention anything about a character such as Urien for example... I notice that these same individuals start getting defensive and they start coming up with weird justifications on what he is the way he is. Especially on Eventscrubs (no seriously. This popped up QUITE a bit in many chat sessions. In fact, I bet you any amount of money that something like that actually took place on each and every chat that was related to R. Mika). Now if that is the case, what exactly is the issue with R. Mika being in the roster then? And, to the people complaining about her costume... these individuals are with mentally unstable/retarded (I hate using that last word because it sounds very juvenile but then again... at this point, this might actually be the truth, based on the recent "trends" that have been taking place). So people are complaining about video game sexualization... Now? People are doing this... NOW?! What exactly were these people expecting from SFV? A Sausage-Fest? Get the fuck out of here with that mess. If they are really into that sort of thing, then they need to play... UFC or something (hint, there is a good reason why many real fighting game fans... like the majority of individuals in this forum... disregard those games. Trust me on this. You would think that people would be a little more happier and more appreciative of R. Mika's presence in this series? The only reason why people stir up trouble over video game character "sexualization" is to fuel some unnecessary controversy, seek profit, pander to a certain audience or to I wonder if Max actually said anything about Chun Li or Cammy. I doubt it. But, if he didn't then that would be even more baffling to whine about... R. Mika of all things. This is part of the reason why I prefer character-specialists or people who are not really "baised" to conduct tutorials because then it would produce a nicer environment. I don't know exactly what Max was expecting. A "conservative" or "proper" R. Mika? Kind of lost a little respect for him in that regard. Keep in mind that this is over a video game and these whiners are even in the FGC as we speak. I am going to post this image once more for emphasis. Somebody's feelings are going to be hurt by the image. Not that it matters. This is just going to further motivate me to play R. Mika.

I find it baffling because I've even heard Cammy fans of all people complaining. Their character is raw fanservice in a way that doesn't make sense considering her occupation and personality. They're probably just jealous. Envy is the lowest of the low in terms of emotions. The "it's a power fantasy" argument has been done to death and can be easily proven wrong by looking at things that cater to women like romance novels. Of course stuff like this is fine. It's when men like something that it's bad. Meanwhile you have idiots arguing against themselves by saying that women should be free to express their sexuality and on the other hand call women they don't like "strippers" and "porn stars". They love to say this whenever a woman is hot. If a fat woman or a trannie like Poison dresses slutty, that's ok. Never heard a complaint about "her". I hate bias. We all have preferences but we should remain logical. I'm glad Capcom ramped up the fanservice. They have artistic freedom too, it looks nice, and it gives a big middle finger to the whiners. It's ace to me.

This is definitely gonna be the most fanservicey SF. I mean look at R.Mika? I didn't expect her to be go more in that direction. But, made her even more outrageous [in a good way] she even smacks her butt. I hope Maki makes it, then the fun will begin.

But, made her even more outrageous [in a good way] she even smacks her butt. I hope Maki makes it, then the fun will begin. I thought she was pretty tame back in the day and pretty cheeky (pun intended). She's a bit more fanservicy now but it really isn't as bad as the morons are making it seem. When I saw Chun Li with her better face and assets I figured that this game was heading that way. When Cammy was revealed it was a foregone conclusion. I loved the Alpha roster WAY more than the 3s roster. I'd love to see characters like Sodom for sure.

A lot of people didn't like the 3s rooster. I'm starting to think Alpha 3 aged a lot better than 3s too. Though, I still love it.

It was ok for a roster, but it was lacking in a lot of ways and many of the characters just don't have that long lasting appeal. Alpha characters were creative but also stood the test of time.
I think 3s was a great game in some ways, but it had a lot of flaws as well. The fanboys just wank it to high heaven though which kind of hurts the cause. I can willingly admit V-ism is broken but 3s fanboys act like there were no faults with the game.
On another note I found this hilarious laugh night. I almost spit out my food, this was a thread about region locking:
"bish please
just because you use community welfare dial up potato router internet does not mean alll of us successful gamers need to suffer. i as a uk player need as much competition as possible and americans have lag less matches with me because i live a comfortably wealthy life and i can easily afford the best internet
maybe you should spend your time getting a good career and come back to gaming in a few years time if its too laggy for you, community does not need to be broken up any more"
Sounds like most FGC players lol.
