With PC and PS4 having cross-play, that means PC players won't have to wait a year to get the same console updates

Pretty sad though, eh?
We've gone from being second class gamers to celebrating the fact that we're on equal grounds as the consoles.

Well, stuff like Injustice and MK9 took a while to get to PC and had some little hiccups on their releases but yeah, Capcom is probably the worst offender.
It is very nice that developers are starting to put more effort into PC releases.

It is very nice that developers are starting to put more effort into PC releases. Those weren't originally planned for PC were they? Like I said before. They never gave us a chance. I'm glad we're getting everything now, since modern fighters were our weak point with PC's.

I knew it wasn't because ono is the producer. Get ready for more alpha characters, the old cast and some new characters. I also doubt this will sell as much as SF4.

Maybe they can make a better profit by cutting down costs. I like a lot of Alpha characters. People like Karin and R. Mika too, lol.

No, I think it will sell less because Capcom has desensitized the customer with rehashes. This game looks meh. I don't get what's supposed to impress me. MKX had variations where you pick a completely different version of another character. This game has some power up system where Ryu has electricity. This is the second time I've been more interested in an MK vs Street Fighter. I don't think this trend will stop.

I'm not sure where they're going with it. I don't want the same thing over and over again, but I don't want gimmicky stuff. Mortal Kombat has its share of gimmicks but it's also fun. SF is more serious but I hope this game isn't slow and boring with bs like 4. I guess we'll see.

New characters and new playstyles from old characters. That's all. It's early to get into new characters. With the very large cast of that franchise you won't get mostly new characters. Maybe 1/3 tops. SC5 had a lot of new characters and people hated it. What new playstyles would you like?

Just more tweaking around with the move set and I know it's early but I'm still worried they'll just fill the rooster with returning characters. I'm not a novelty addict, but if keeping everything the same is so important. Then why make new games? I don't get that. Plus alot of times the new characters feel lazy. Remember Decapre? Capcom fanboys will eat up anything though.

SF4's cast was too large but Omega mode may be a hint they're willing to go out of the box somewhat.

You're right, I'll try to be a little more optimistic. They are having money problems. Can't fault them too much.

www.ign.com/videos/2014/12/14/live-demo-of-street-fighter-vHere's what I've gathered. You have two meters again: Revenge and ex Meter. The Ex Meter is interesting because it allows you to go into a powered state. Where you can do EX moves and what looks like Super versions of specials: Chun-li was able to Houyouku-sen with it.

It's capcom. So, no surprise here. If they're going to cater to scrubs again I'm already worried. They're promising to make the characters more unique. Does this mean a smaller cast? www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/dec/14/all-characters-street-fighter-5-will-be-more-unique-ever-expected-capcom-feels-game-will-bring-fighters-next-era/"If you didn't catch the live stream of the Capcom Cup yesterday, you may have missed some of the notable quotes Yoshinori Ono relayed through a translator at the end of the tournament.
Ono expressed optimism that Street Fighter 5 would usher in the next generation of fighters.
"We've been hard at work on Street Fighter 5, and we promise this game, this product, will be the one that brings fighting games into the next era," said Ono, through a translator.
"This will be a huge step for us and our community," he added. Ono stated that they've been paying attention to online feedback about how the various systems might work.
"We've been monitoring the comments online, we've seen a lot of speculation about the battle system, things like guard crush and combo systems, and we're aware of the chatter you guys have going on.
"As you saw in the trailer today, we have a lot of secrets in this game, a lot of things we're really, really excited to show you guys," he said.
The most notable thing for many people in the community is that every character is expected to have something highly unique beyond the scope of the community's established expectations for this franchise.
"Every single character in the game will be more unique than you'd ever expect," said Ono."

If you think about Street Fighter 4 was like both Street fighter 3 sequel and an Alpha sequel. It was a big reunion to reestablish Street Fighter. But, this game since to be the most different yet. Characters seem to have lots of new moves and this power up state. This is How I wanted Street Fighter 4 to be. Let's hope they deliver.

Street Fighter 4 seemed like a bastard stepchild blend of 2 and 3 with me with a huge amount of characters thrown in. So you "do" like the new power up mode? I think it's neat that certain characters get more stock or meter depending on what they choose. They've had that before but we'll see how they deliver.
