People don't seem to make a big deal out of any other character but if R. Mika is mentioned... Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... Tops are blown. Never mind everything else (Chun Li's conceptualization, Cammy's costume, other elements that had been spanning for YEARS... and... pretty much ANYTHING that has to do with Juri). For the past few years, there has been this weird occurrence of crybabies whining about... costumes or characters being "sexualized". Another thing is that if you mention anything about a character such as Urien for example... I notice that these same individuals start getting defensive and they start coming up with weird justifications on what he is the way he is. Especially on Eventscrubs (no seriously. This popped up QUITE a bit in many chat sessions. In fact, I bet you any amount of money that something like that actually took place on each and every chat that was related to R. Mika). Now if that is the case, what exactly is the issue with R. Mika being in the roster then? And, to the people complaining about her costume... these individuals are with mentally unstable/retarded (I hate using that last word because it sounds very juvenile but then again... at this point, this might actually be the truth, based on the recent "trends" that have been taking place).
So people are complaining about video game sexualization... Now? People are doing this... NOW?!
What exactly were these people expecting from SFV? A Sausage-Fest? Get the fuck out of here with that mess. If they are really into that sort of thing, then they need to play... UFC or something (hint, there is a good reason why many real fighting game fans... like the majority of individuals in this forum... disregard those games. Trust me on this. You would think that people would be a little more happier and more appreciative of R. Mika's presence in this series? The only reason why people stir up trouble over video game character "sexualization" is to fuel some unnecessary controversy, seek profit, pander to a certain audience or to I wonder if Max actually said anything about Chun Li or Cammy. I doubt it. But, if he didn't then that would be even more baffling to whine about... R. Mika of all things. This is part of the reason why I prefer character-specialists or people who are not really "baised" to conduct tutorials because then it would produce a nicer environment. I don't know exactly what Max was expecting. A "conservative" or "proper" R. Mika? Kind of lost a little respect for him in that regard. Keep in mind that this is over a video game and these whiners are even in the FGC as we speak.

That's what I was going to say. Outside of the extreme joke characters/Monsters and the stereotypical old master. there's no real contingency for ugly characters. Also, these guys are on auto pilot. Compare Laura to R.Mika for example, they are both HOT grapplers but they nothing alike. Mika is far less feminine and comes off as a ditzy tomboy while Laura is more of a seductress.
Also, some idiot said MK has variety of women. MK can't even make "Women" and there character archetypes are basically 2-3 characters: Male, Female, and Big male. Not to mention they recycle models too: Flash/ Johnny Cage, Bane/Farohtorr.

Many readers have noticed that Laura's last name, Matsuda, is the same last name as Sean Matsuda who hailed from Street Fighter 3. This obviously indicates that Laura has a family tie to Sean.
It has been revealed that Laura is Sean's older sister. Her brother Sean is also listed as one of her favorite things on her profile page of the Japanese Capcom page so it can be assumed that they have a close relationship (she also likes meat and battles).

SCR footage of Laura has surfaced on Momochi's and ChocoBlanka's Youtube channel. During these videos, we get a good look at some of the things that Laura can do.
Some of the things we see from Laura are frame traps, combos, and approach options. Overall, Laura is looking like a character that is shaping up to be quite versatile with her tools.
In one of the videos, we see Laura negate Chun Li's projectile with her own projectile, recover before Chun Li, rush in with her V-Skill, and then perform a command throw on Chun Li. Although her projectile doesn't travel very far, it recovers extremely quickly.
The typical strategy of throwing fireballs against grapplers from mid-screen, may not be the best idea against Laura.

It could be Dhalsim or something. I was reading the 3s fanboys stirring up on a few sites like SRK. Saying the usual stuff about how 3s is just the best thing ever and Capcom is stupid to not have any 3s characters yet.
