With you on the getting news and just leaving thing. I don't even do that for SRk, that's how bad it is. I might just start playing something else besides Capcom games because the community is that cancerous. Soul Calibur or Virtua fighter maybe. With Capcom I can just follow the Japanese scene which is what I've done for a while. Waaaaay too many shitposters these days, especially post 09. Yea even Mortal Kombat has a better site oddly enough. It's actually not bad at TestYourMight. If you got to SRK you don't want it for FG news because then you get warped into the nonsense. It's funny because they're bizarre stories in the General Discussion are quite good. I just enjoy the communities for what they are. Don't let stupid fans ruin your fun. Avoid them and keep on pushing.

I'll always play Street fighter, but after 09 I honestly have no interest in discussing it outside of this board.

Unrelated to SFV but I just had to post this: "Actually, yes they can. The plot guide was made publicly available in that format for years. Additionally, under terms of fair use, others are allowed to use it for scholarly pursuits since the purpose of it is nonprofit and educational. Additionally, the continued hosting of it in no way impacts your ability to profit from the content of the plot guide because it is impossible for you to do so since the plot guide is otherwise made of material copyright by Capcom.
So...yeah.
That little lesson on copyright law aside, I find it hilarious you continue to pitch a fit, Vasili. Hilarious and sad. This really goes to show your character. You're not interested in the plot guide continuing, nor are you interested in other people having access to information regarding Street Fighter and it's canon. Apparently it really was always all about you and the attention you derived from being the plot guide's caretaker. I'd say I'm surprised, but I'm really not. I know other people had a good relationship with you before and this probably sucks for them now, but all I can do is shake my head and roll my eyes over this behavior.
Clearly you'd rather see the plot guide and the information within die out rather than not have absolute control over it. Typical dictator behavior. "If I can't have it, no one can" right? You've been repeatedly invited to continue to take part in the plot guide so that we can all work together, but obviously that's not good enough. And I know I'm probably going to catch flak for this post but I don't care...I spent nearly three years getting dumped on for trying to help the plot guide and contribute to it and add to it only to be repeatedly shot down by you and people that (mistakenly) trusted you. And you know what? That sucked. Still, I kept at it because I genuinely wanted to research Street Fighter and help...to discuss it and discover. Now this is how you act? Unbelievable.
You're defining your legacy in regard to the plot guide you know.
Vasili, the guy that misrepresented stuff and got caught lying, pitched a fit and then tried his hardest to kill the plot guide rather than see it not contain his falsehoods.
Your alternative? Man up. Show you actually love Street Fighter and that the plot guide can be about more than you. Stop stamping your foot like a child and either bow out or accept the invitation to work with others. Anything else (or at least what you've already been doing) is not only counter-productive, it's pathetic.
And my apologies to those that I know will (probably rightfully) give me hell for this post but I think I've earned an ounce of righteous indignation over the course of the last few years in regards to all this stuff. I know that might not justify it, but it's where I'm coming from right, wrong or indifferent. It's on my chest and I gotta get it off." forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/181838/the-street-fighter-plot-canon-guide-development-threadThese are then kinda of people we have in FGC like SRK.

Hope that SFV *does* have some solid story content like they promised.

I remember one due that claimed he hung out at Capcom of Japan's headquarters. He got exposed too, but that's standard stuff in SRK. Obligatory:
The anime community did the samething too. People would lie or make up translations because speaking Japanese seemed "Cool". This is why I decided to learn Japanese almost two years ago and it's been hard since I spent most of the time learning myself and I took a beginners class which I aced because my self practice. But, it's worth it. I'm done with translations for the most part.

There are going to be liars in all communities and forums when you can't fact check everything, fortunately that's becoming much easier. There were idiots on KMC spouting nonsense and lies as well in the comic section. Making up scans that didn't exist and then they would spread like crazy rumors.

No, but I remember people claiming he could steal, speed stop time and was a God. I trolled a bit with Green Lantern claiming he could beat anyone because his ring could make the entire league lol. The debate rules are really poorly enforced and poorly done. Most mods just let tards poo fling with not consequences. It's why I quit.

Final SF5 classic character isn't limited to SF2. So who might it be? www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/oct/16/capcom-confirms-street-fighter-5s-final-classic-character-isnt-limited-sf2-so-who-hell-it/Street Fighter 5 is set to launch with 16 characters on the playable roster. At this moment in time, 14 of those characters have been revealed, and the final two have been described as a brand new character to the franchise and a "classic character you'd expect to see in a Street Fighter game."
Since the chances of accurately predicting what a brand new character will look and play like are damn near impossible, fans everywhere have been actively attempting to decipher Capcom's hints and figure out who the remaining returning fighter will be.
For some time now, many suspected that this character will be pulled from the Street Fighter 2 roster, considering that this generation of warriors is found in Street Fighter titles more often than others. However, in a recent interview Capcom's Director of Brand Marketing and eSports, Matt Dahlgren, had something very interesting to say on the matter.
"You pretty much know what the classic characters are," Dahlgren said. "There's mainstays in the series that are pretty much always present."
The interviewer quickly asked Dahlgren if this classic character was limited to the Street Fighter 2 series, to which he replied, "not necessarily."
We currently know that Street Fighter 3 Third Strike characters will be making an appearance in Street Fighter 5, eventually. In fact, Dahlgren said that all different iterations of Street Fighter will be represented in SF5 down the road, and that not having characters from some of these series at launch was "a bit of an oversight."
All of that having been said, we still can't figure out who this final classic character is. We do, however, have some educated guesses... DreamKing's picks
Juri: As it stands right now, Street Fighter 5 lacks any real zoning characters. Sure, you could argue that Ryu is a zoning character, but his fireball game has been toned down quite a bit in exchange for a better up-close play-style.
I feel that Juri might be in at launch due to her massive popularity. Making her first appearance in Super Street Fighter 4, Juri quickly became a fan favorite and has since appeared in other titles such as Street Fighter X Tekken, as well as the Capcom/Namco RPG -- Project X Zone.
Of the Street Fighter 4 series original characters, Juri is easily one of the most well-known. Her move set could work very well in Street Fighter 5, making her Feng Shui Engine Ultra 1 into V-Trigger and possibly her counter/dodge special moves as V-Skill. She also fills the role of a zoning character, but still keeps with the "in-your-face" atmosphere of Street Fighter 5, using great normals and rushdown to pick apart opponents.
Alex: Alex is one of the most highly requested characters for Street Fighter 5. In our "Which characters do you want to see playable in Street Fighter 5?" poll, readers voted for Alex the most; people want this character.
There is a very slim chance that Capcom isn't aware of this, and it does seem unlikely that we'll see him at launch. At least, that may be what Capcom wants us to think...
At New York Comic Con, Street Fighter 5 producer Yoshinori Ono stated that he was "made very much aware" of how badly fans want to see Alex return. He went on to say that he'll be taking that information back to Japan and will do everything he can to try to make the dream a reality.
There is a part of me that believes that this all might be a ruse on Capcom's behalf. I feel that they know he's in and want fans to deeply believe that he won't be in at launch, only to say "surprise!" and blow everyone's minds with hype.
I mean, Alex is the most sought after character right now, and requests for him rival the level of Karin, if not, close to it. MajinTenshinhan's picks
EventHubs' own tournament specialist has a couple of interesting selections as well.
Remy/Dhaslim: Majin's first selection is the mysterious Third Strike Guile-ish fighter, Remy. Citing a similar point, he feels that Street Fighter 5 currently lacks zoning characters.
Capcom mentioned early on that they wanted to have unorthodox choices akin to Birdie, but since Birdie we haven't seen a single character that hasn't been somewhat expected, sans the brand new fighters. The game feels both aesthetically and timeline-wise fairly close to Street Fighter 3, which leads him to believe someone from that game should be in, even though he was convinced earlier on that it would be Alex and Urien.
Additionally, Dahlgren's insistence that "classic character doesn't have to mean SF2" seems strange if the classic character does, like everyone's expecting, end up being from SF2 anyway.
Majin believes that the reason Birdie is in the launch roster is because Capcom knew that as DLC, he wouldn't be particularly popular. He feels that they might be holding off on characters they know fans will be more eager to purchase as DLC, since many players will be buying characters for real money.
When you look at Remy compared to other zoners, he's probably the least likely one to inspire a lot of buyers via DLC. Therefore, it makes much more sense to have him in the roster right away, like with Birdie, and save characters such as Guile and Dhalsim (more well-known characters) for DLC down the road.
However, if this classic character is indeed a World Warrior, Majin feels that Dhalsim would be the most probable choice.

As far as classic characters, part of the staff picks actually doesn't fit the whole "classic characters you expect to see in Street Fighter." (with one exception) almost as if they don't know enough of the previous games when it comes which character appeared in previous titles (not saying as if I'm a picture perfect nor saying they know nothing). Here is a list of characters that appeared in every SF game that are not yet conformed for SFV from 1st to Last Place (update versions are going to be under one game, example if Fei Long appeared in SSFII that would count as SFII. Crossovers or other franchises does not count example MVC, CVS, Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution, SFXT, Project X Zone, Final Fight, or Rival Schools. Its going to be strictly SFI, SFII, SFA series, SFIII, & SFIV no EX series or SF The Movie The Game):
1st with total of 6 games: Sagat (SFI as CPU, SFII, SFA, SFA2, SFA3, & SFIV) & Gouki/Akuma (SSFIITurbo, SFA, SFA2, SFA3, SFIII 2nd Impact, & SFIV)
2nd with total of 5 games: Adon (SFI as CPU, SFA, SFA2, SFA3, & SSFIV)
3rd with total of 4 games: Gen (SFI as CPU, SFA2, SFA3, & SFIV)|Dhalsim (Majin's pick) (SFII, SFA2, SFA3, & SFIV)|Dan & Rose (SFA, SFA2, SFA3, & SFIV)|Guy (SFA, SFA2, SFA3, & SSFIV)
4th with total of 3 games: Guile, Blanka, E. Honda, & M. Bison/Balrog (SFII, SFA3 & SFIV)| Fei Long (SSFII, SFA3, & SFIV)|T. Hawk & Dee Japy (SSFIV, SFA3, & SSFIV)|Sodom (SFA, SFA2, SFA3)|Shin Gouki/Shin Akuma (SFA2, SFA3, & SFIII 2nd Impact as CPU)|Sakura (SFA2, SFA3, & SFIV)|Evil Ryu (SFA2, SFA3, & SSFIVAE)|Rolento (SFA2, SFA3, & USFIV)|Yun (SFIII New Generations, SFA3 Upper, & SSFIVAE)
5th with total of 2 games: Eagle (SFI as CPU & SFA3 Upper)|Cody (SFA3 & SSFIV)|Dudley & Ibuki (SFIII New Generations & SSFIV)|Yang (SFIII New Generations & SSFIVAE)|Elena (SFIII New Generations & USFIV)|Hugo (SFIII 2nd Impact & USFIV)|Makoto (SFIII Third Strike & SSFIV)
Last for only appearing in one game: Retsu, Geki, Joe, Mike, & Lee (SFI as CPU)|Juni & Juli (SFA3)|Alex (DreamKing's pick), Necro, Oro, Sean, & Gill (SFIII New Generations)|Urien (SFIII 2nd Impact)| Remy (Majin's pick), Twelve, & Q (SFIII Third Strike)|Maki (SFA3 Upper)|Ingrid (SFA3 MAX, despite her first appearence in Jam/Evolution)|Abel, Rufus, El Fuerte, C. Viper, Seth, & Gouken (SFIV)|Juri (DreamKing's pick) & Hakan (SSFIV)|Oni (SSFIVAE)|Poison & Decapre (USFIV as fighters, despite part of intro from respected fighters Juni & Juli: Decapre and Hugo: Poison)
The classic characters I expect to see them at launch would have to the ones that are in 1st-4th Rank for number of games they appear in (Majin's pick isn't actually too bad), while the ones in 5th & Last have better chances with DLC than characters you get at launch. Even Capcom could give some of these characters a different playstyle (like Ken now has more of an aggresive playstyle). If I were to make 2 picks like DreamKing & MajinTenshinhan, it would between Gouki/Akuma or Sakura since these are the type of characters your more likely to expect to see in SFV as classic list.

Yea, they don't really grasp the concept at all. That said Capcom never said "classic" at first, just "characters you would expect to see in SF". So it would open it up to characters like Juri perhaps. The only non SF2 characters I could see would be Sakura and Dan as "classics". They're both shotos though. Akuma has a good chance as a "hidden" boss character as usual. Hmm...

Even if they original said "characters you would expect to see in SF", but after Rainbow Mika was announced there was just now a list from Classic, Characters we haven't seen in awhile, & new characters. Even Dahlgren said "You pretty much know what the classic characters are," "There's mainstays in the series that are pretty much always present." However it isn't completely limited to SFII (even though he could easily throw a curve ball and have a SFII character anyway).
Gouki/Akuma would have a chance as a "hidden" boss character but is it more going to be the final "classic character we expect to see"? Could Capcom afford an extra character slot at launch? or Will they take MKX route and make him CPU exclusive make him a DLC character down the road?

Well Karin, Mika, Charlie, and Birdie were the ones we haven't seen in a while.
The new characters are self explanatory.
The "ones you would expect" which isn't limited to Sf2 are the other 8. As for Akuma. Perhaps . Don't know why we need 3 in a small cast, but he's a staple. Could be a boss and DLC later.

This is just a thought, but we shall see results once the final "classic fighter you expect to see" is revealed along with when the game is available.

Right. Akuma could be the character. He is popular for sure. Many say he'll just be DLC though. Sakura doesn't seem unlikely based on that description. Outside of her and Dan who else is classic and not SF2? *Shrugs*.

I'll be taking quite a few days off from work this week! Looking forward to playing the Beta once again! ... Here are some Cammy pictures for you guys to mess around with. I LOL'd at that first image. As suggestive as it looks, it seems like Cammy is trying to tell Ryu - "Ryu... Wake-Up Shoryuken is not going to save you from me." As if she were a Drill Sergeant XD. As for the Beta? I am looking forward to playing you know who...

From months ago? Nash and Cammy.
This time around: R. Mika (I plan on eventually playing Karin and Rashid over time).

Believe me when I tell you this: Everything looks better up close when you the one playing the game. Far more smoother as well. The game play itself is paced a tad faster than SFIV but still not that fast. It was also definitely a lot easier to conduct combos (links) from the close range. Neutral game is an element that is heavily supported in this game (don't expect too much wierd shit going on like there was in this games predecessor).

Glad to hear it plays smoother and has more of a emphasis on neutral. So are you keeping your preorder? Do you think you'll like it more than SF4?

The females are better to look at on your own television screen than just on youtube videos. Trust me on this. I am keeping the preorder for sure. It seems like Capcom is actually getting their act together. Ever since SFIV came out, the leadership within the company have been acting half silly (specifically during the years of 2011 and halfway through 2013). At the time I tested the initial beta both Cammy and Chun Li looked hot as hell (you would have to see it for yourself on your own television screen because a lot of messages I am trying to get across may come off as an understatement. If Cammy and Chun Li both look this good think imagine how the likes of R. Mika, Karin and Laura would look.

I know you're the professor of hot women which is why I had to hear it from the horse's mouth. They've definitely seemed to have improved from SF4. They made it more accessible, without ruining it. Hopefully they polish it up with some good tutorial stuff/and a nice story. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Then you get this: www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/oct/20/too-easy-learn-too-rigid-s-what-bothers-me-quite-bit-valmaster-expresses-some-pretty-big-reservations-about-street-fighter-5/During Kakutop League 3, Le Figaro TV reached out MD|Luffy, YP|Valmaster and FA|Ryan Hart to get their thoughts on Street Fighter 4 as it begins to wind down and Street Fighter 5 as it glimpses over the horizon.
All three players were fairly happy with Street Fighter 4, but when asked about the transition to SF5, there were quite a few reservations.
Luffy and Ryan Hart are widely subscribing to the idea that we need to wait for the final product to be out before making judgments, but Valmaster is already worried that SF5 may not be a success.
He classifies the game as "too easy to learn" and "too rigid," and is afraid the community may lose interest soon after the game's release. Valmaster cites certain attributes of SF4, such as unblockables, as aspects that made the game fun.
Get all three players' inputs in the video after the jump.

sf4 player mentality is gonna be like that for a while. I can kinda understand liking your first fighting game a lot though lol The problem that people have is they are mad that almost none of the skills they learned from sf4 will carry over to sf5. Sf5 is gonna be fundamental based for the most part and thats what they don't enjoy.
