Capcom has been trying to westernize for a good while. Their games are definitely trying to expand outside of the Japanese market. Thus the marketing is different, they are the only ones too but they are at the spear tip. Are you saying they are the only ones or aren't? Just making sure. Yea the Japanese companies want to make more money and have to play catch up with the west and their "modernized" games. Sadly. Some good comes of it like PC and online play but then you get nonsense like this.

Not many changes just lighting stuff, Chun Li's pant things may have been made darker, there's at least one camera angle change on Chun Li and now we're able to 100% confirm the different Skin Tone for Laura. The new angle is interesting because it means Chun Li's full intro may have completely different angles there may even be other changes that I missed as well as changes that we don't know about until the Beta. Nice job catching all of that stuff. You're very astute.

That was a typo, I mean't: "They aren't the only ones"
Either way, I just wanted to give my two cents since we now know they aren't going to change it back and I wanted to comment on the new character.

Considering Chun they're really all over the board it seems. You seem like you might be debating getting it now. Are you?

Nice job catching all of that stuff. You're very astute. There really wasn't that much a lot were identical. Did you see the ending? I don't mind getting it, but I doubt I'll lay it much. i had USF4 pirated and I barely played that game because it was boring as hell.

That particular story arc is sorta like a cardgame. A dub is coming out. So, you can watch that.

More disturbing news. Apparently skill gaps are a bad thing. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/dec/08/we-wanted-eliminate-gap-between-really-strong-players-and-new-players-ono-feels-street-fighter-5s-v-system-key/Street Fighter 5 is only a couple of months away, and we now know which characters have rounded out the initial launch roster, along with the identities of the game's first DLC fighters. Though more content is always nice, today we get a closer look at the competitive side of things and how Capcom aims to level the playing field in their upcoming fighter.
In a recent interview with Gameinformer, Street Fighter executive producer Yoshinori Ono shared how he helped reinvent the franchise and how Ultra Street Fighter 4's many updates led to a fresh start for Street Fighter 5.
Ono recalls a time where Street Fighter 4 was merely in the planning stages and Street Fighter 3 Third Strike had become a game that only experts could really play against each other, due to its high learning curve. Because of this, Ono felt it was time to go back to basics, despite his colleagues suggesting ideas that were even more technical than what's found in Third Strike.
"Oh no, guys. Don’t do that please! Here’s what we’re going to do: We’re going to use today’s technology and make Street Fighter II," Ono said.
The decision was ultimately a success, as the Street Fighter 4 series brought in SF2 veterans, but also had an entry level fit for newcomers. Over time, however, the community has become so advanced that players can no longer simply jump in and play at a competitive level with ease. "The hurdle has gotten so high," Ono explains.
Which is why the goal for Street Fighter 5 is to start with a clean slate. "When we talked about making Street Fighter V, we wanted to make sure we lowered the bar for entry as much as humanly possible," Ono starts. "One way we did that is to take care of it on the system level. What we wanted to do was eliminate the gap between really, really strong players and new players as much as possible.
"We wanted to make it so that almost everything you learned in the previous title got thrown out the window – at least as much as humanly possible. In doing so, we ended up narrowing the gap between really strong players and new players. It’s a very small gap now."
One of the key components to bridging this gap, Ono says, is the implication of the V-System. This is a brand new mechanic to the Street Fighter series, and even players who have been competing for years will have to sit down and learn the intricacies of V-Trigger, V-Reversal, and V-Skill. Newcomers will have the same experience.
Though V-Skill has a familiar input -- the same as Street Fighter 4's focus attack -- Ono feels that it'll still take time for players to really dig into the V-System. Once they do, "that’s [when] we’re really going to start seeing a gap in terms of how quickly people will actually grow faster and mature in their ability as a player," he says.
But in the beginning, Ono will make it so that everyone is on equal ground.

They have said on multiple occasions something similar about removing the gap between other players, so I'm not surprised. I'm sure he knows the best players will be the best, but they are doing the E-sports thing.

From the srk front page ono finally speaks on the censorship. shoryuken.com/2015/12/08/ono-street-fighter-v-cinematics-altered-to-engage-more-players/"Alongside multiple balance tweaks and changes, one thing that many players noticed in the latest beta builds of Street Fighter V were the changes to certain risque cinematics, most notably R. Mika’s cheeky butt slap during her Critical Art activation.
Since then, fans have speculated as to why these changes were made, with theories ranging from outside pressure to their desire to maintain a Teen rating with the ESRB.
In a recent interview with Brazilian site UOL Jogos (which was subsequently translated by NeoGAF’s Moraizen), executive producer Yoshinori Ono assures that their decision came solely within the development team.
“We didn’t make any change because of external influences. Those changes came up internally,” Ono explains. “We decided to remove [R. Mika’s butt slap] because we want the biggest possible number of people to play, and we don’t want to have something in the game that might make someone uncomfortable.”
He goes on to say that while they can’t possibly remove everything that may be offensive to everyone, their goal is to try to reduce it as much as possible."That is some very bad reasoning from ono but im not surprised.Ono a confirmed sjw? Didnt mk outsell Sf4?

He'll never say if outside influences actually influenced them, look at DOAX3 and what happened when the Team Ninja CM told the truth. It's obvious when they said "make people uncomfortable". What else could that mean? It's clear they want to avoid saying what it really is .

I quit:“Probably we won’t be able to remove everything that could offend someone. But our goal is, at least, to reduce that number as much as possible so that they think ‘Ok, there is this issue here, but it is within the limits’. We want that everyone can play and enjoy without worrying about anything else.”

Ono is just following executive orders and giving the company excuse. The problem with censorship is that someone will always be offended by something so where do you draw the line? No female characters because.of violence against women? Good thing we have so many options. I am getting Ggxrd today. That's for sure.

It's not even the censorship it's the retarded random nerfs and everything else. But, it's the fact that they lied. They said they would make a more offensive oriented Street fighter with an emphasis on buffs. Then they start nerfing everything. I'm tired of this shit.
I'm honestly done with this game, It's SF4 all over again. Capcom can't stop shitting on their plate.
Xrd is awesome, I'm planning on getting when I get my PC this Christmas. But, I'm gonna be gaming less. I'll still talk about games, but nowhere near as much. This is the samething that happened with anime all over again.

Then again, it's most likely just a few players like Crapcom and Konami that suck. I like for example WB games because of Arkham and even MK despite it's manface problem. I liked MK9 alot more than SF4.
So, I'll just need to branch out I guess.
