Some new braindead tech in an already super simple game. The vids aren't the normal kind so visit the link. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/dec/19/xian-shows-incredible-option-select-ryu-street-fighter-5-says-its-much-easier-ultra-street-fighter-4/One of the central goals for the Street Fighter 5 development team was to depart from Street Fighter 4's favoring towards more auto-pilot game play via vortex set ups and option selects, but RZR|Xian may have already found a wrench in the works.
After only about two hours with the current beta, Xian discovered what looks to be an extremely useful option select with Ryu.
You'll see in the video below that by blocking for a few frames followed by plinking Ryu's V-Skill into his throw tech, Xian will block an immediate attack, parry a delayed attack and tech throws.Commenting on his video, Xian states that this is "much easier [to do] than in USF4." Hit the jump to see EG|Justin Wong's application of this option select with Zangief. Seeing as Zangief also has something of a parry, he too can implement this tech in his game play. Justin Wong shows us the basics below:Seeing as Capcom has been pretty adamant about keeping this type of tech out of the game, we wouldn't be surprised if this option select doesn't make it to the final product come February 16th.
What are your thoughts on this discovery? Do you think it will be nerfed away? Let us know in the comments.

His combo options seemed limited now without green hand. the only bnb he has is c.lp, st,lk lariat and it doesn't even connect 100% of the time. he can combo into his super off cr lkx2 \ cr lpx2 \ cr mk (you have to be in range though) lariat as an anti air doesnt seem very good now. thats all i have and im done playing the beta.

How do you feel about the game itself? Also it turns out you can't REFUND the damn game if you gave away your beta keys. Where was this mentioned? It almost seems like this was set up to trap people into keeping this game if they were unhappy with it. This is about the last straw I've had with Capcom. steamcommunity.com/app/310950/discussions/0/487877107144663498/

This is about the last straw I've had with Capcom. steamcommunity.com/app/310950/discussions/0/487877107144663498/Sfv as a whole? The first beta i was liking the direction it was heading but now it seems its gonna be like sf4 and possibly even worse. Capcom should try and make everyone good at their gameplan rather than making everyone seem mediocre. Zoning seems a thing of the past now. Started off looking good then steadily declined gameplay wise. There was a big fiasco about steam not letting people refund for the cod black ops 3 beta if they sent out the beta gifts to friends. Your best bet would be to open a support ticket to get a refund that way like I had to do. Whatever you do though dont do a charge back unless you are prepared to lose your account. steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/527274088388195167/#c527274088395403594steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/527274088388195167/#c527274088391572135

Yea that's what I was going to do. I'm good at getting things back. I wouldn't do a chargeback over it anyways, but I wouldn't buy anymore Capcom products. If it's an issue with Steam then I won't blame Capcom.
I feel the way you do about the game. It's zoning seems worse than 4 on top of all that.
Now when I was going through I saw that it allowed me to choose a refund option after I chose "I want to remove the game from my account". That's why I was wondering if you didn't have the option or if Steam just flat out said no. I'll investigate. I wanted to play a little more today in the hopes that the netcode would be better so I'm still teetering.

I'll talk it over with them later today. The final beta starts at 7. If it's a mess then I'm refunding it before it's over.

With the winter sale coming on the 22nd I'm sure steam support will be swamped with tickets so it might take them a while to respond to your ticket.

Here's what the OP in that thread said about the refund.
" It has the refund option, but the Steam crew still has to analize it. The answer I got was that they would not refund it because I've sent one of the beta keys as a gift. So I've asked this friend to "refund" the beta key (he said that it was tricky because the option was kind of buried on the menus), and after he did it I asked again Steam for the refund, and this time it worked.
I can see why Steam would have this policy. I mean, to prevent people keeping those special pre-purchase DLCs after a refund. But I could never imagine that the Beta keys was something like this, since they give you 3 keys, making it obvious that the idea is to give them away.
I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the "DLC before launch" announcement, and after playing the beta I was quite disappointed with the game system. The control changes are great but the V-trigger isn't really fun. I just don't think it is worth the launch price, so I'll wait for a better deal later."

I can't even find the thread where people gave away their keys anymore. I posted it here but the shoutbox has been spammed out. (Gotta stop posting important stuff there).
So I won't be able to get them gifted back so I'll just contact steam.
As far as the game it ran great earlier today and was pretty fun. It lagged out badly after a certain point and I've just given up now. I'm not sure if they are stress testing servers or what but it's annoying.
I was feeling decent about keeping it but the lag drove me crazy. If I can't get a refund I'll have to live with it but I'll see what I can do. Right now the game rewards too much mashing of normals and jumping. It seems like retarded jumping was really hard to deal with and Mika already has bleh anti-airs. I'm curious to see these "changes" that will be coming on launch.
Steam might have improved in their support because I've heard many stories of having to wait over a week just to get a response. We'll see though.

I had all kinds of issues with basic video editors. Did this one on youtube. I might use an online one. These things should be quicker and more simple than this lol. The constant crashing and nonsense is grating.

Steam Controller with SF5. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/dec/22/throw-hadouken-actually-doing-motion-watch-street-fighter-4-played-new-motion-based-steam-controller/The Steam controller is incredibly unique in that you can navigate a game by moving the controller itself instead of just pushing buttons, levers and sticks. The implications for Street Fighter? You can throw a Hadouken by actually moving your hands in a quarter circle motion.
The controller features dual trackpads, HD haptic feedback, dual-stage triggers, back grip buttons, and fully customizable control schemes. You can see it below: Steam Controller image #1 Steam Controller image #2 Click images for larger versions
The idea of throwing a Hadouken with an actual hand motion is... interesting to say the least. While we don't see real motion replacing sticks anytime soon, one does have to wonder if this new means of play offers any new potential.
Hit the jump to see a video of Street Fighter played on the Steam controller. What do you think? Any potential here, or should we just "stick" with what we know?
If you'd like more information on the Steam controller, or you'd like to get your hands on one, you can head over to Steam's main page.

Now that's wassup: Japan is getting some sick bonus content with the release of Street Fighter 5, which happens over there on February 18, 2016.
There are varying levels of extra content available, depending on how much you want to pay, but some of the things you can grab are A Visionary Book with developer interviews, artwork, and a Vital Box with cover art by Bengus, which has move listings, and an instructional DVD.
The DVD is about 60 minutes long, and features SF5's battle planner, Woshige, as an instructor. Here are some images of various content available in the special editions in Japan.

That's not new at all. We discussed that a while back. There's no way it was for a teen rating because of exactly what you said. Too many other games have more content and don't have a teen rating and SF4 had Poison so that was BS. No way a butt slap got them an M rating.

It would show how the ESRB is just bad and full of crap and basically exists to censor like the MPAA. They didn't outright blame the ESRB because they're not allowed and it's not true. Just double speak. I have no excitement for this game and can easily wait until February to play this watered down PC garbage. When in the F is Saku >_< February is right around the corner. Lol.

Ok here's what I think MGN was talking about. It still doesn't really say anything we don't know. They just provide guidelines. Capcom already said that it wasn't because of outside influence and they already said they don't want to offend people. They can't say they were going to get an M rating if it isn't true. www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/jan/04/esrb-speaks-out-process-giving-street-fighter-5-teen-rating/According to The Angry Gamer, the ESRB has given a statement about their rating process for Street Fighter 5.
There's been quite a bit of talk about SF5's potential rating, fueled in part by Capcom's decision to censor a few risque camera angles. Speaking directly to The Angry Gamer, a representative addressed SF5 specifically.
“After receiving a final rating submission for Street Fighter V and based on the content depicted in the game and overall context, ESRB assigned a T (Teen) rating with content descriptors that include Mild Language, Suggestive Themes and Violence,” they said.
They go on to discuss some of the specifics on the basic rating process. “ESRB provides an informal pre-review process, which is open to all developers and publishers who submit their game for a rating. ESRB does not tell developers and publishers what to put in a game, but we do provide general guidance regarding content that would most likely result in a more restrictive rating," says the rep.
"It is then up to the developer to decide how to proceed. Given the confidential nature of this process, ESRB does not elaborate or provide details about which games nor the content that may have been pre-reviewed.“
SF5's Teen rating was given back in early November, so it seems as though Capcom could have been urged to change the aforementioned camera angles after going through the process described above.
To give a bit more insight into how the ESRB goes about classifying games, we look to a Reddit AMA.
“We receive a video of the game, showing the game’s most extreme content in the appropriate context. Then raters watch the video like a movie and present their rating. If it is in line with games that have similar content, the rating is issued. If not, the higher-ups assign a different rating.”
Certain sequences that didn't make the game's final cut, such as Cammy's revealing intro angle and R. Mika's visible butt slap were likely amongst the "most extreme content" for SF5.
