It also slows down offense and makes it boring and repetitive. Wouldn't be surprised if they gave us an option select that can: Block, Tech Throw, and focus lol. Haha that is a thing. It was kinda ruined by red focus though. Its call 4 button tech (LP,MP,LK,MK) and pretty much was used against Rufus divekick so you didn't need to guess between throw or divekick. Not sure what else people used it against.

Fishing for more damage off of teching. Sakura had one with cr. hp if I'm not mistaken. Lead to sick damage off of tech too.

Playstation Vita Release? www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/feb/18/ono-wants-bring-street-fighter-5-playstation-vita/Back during the Taipei Game Show earlier this year, Capcom had a showing of their upcoming PlayStation 4/PC exclusive title -- Street Fighter 5. Two of the greatest players on the tournament scene today, MCZ|Daigo and AvM|Gamerbee, participated in an exhibition of the still-in-development title, and Capcom's own Yoshinori Ono shared more information about the game throughout the weekend.
Speaking on the subject of the aforementioned console exclusivity, Ono expressed his interest in broadening the game's horizons.
"[Street Fighter 5] will be an exclusive for the PS4 and PC. I'd like to make it for the Vita in the future but for now, my focus is for Sony and the PS4," Ono said.
The Capcom producer wants to bring the next-gen fighter to the world of handheld, and considering the company's recent partnership with Sony, this may not be entirely out of the question. Still, as Ono stated, the focus for the time being is getting Street Fighter 5 into the hands of PlayStation 4 and PC owners. Ono previously explained that he doesn't want too many playable fighters on the Street Fighter 5 roster. Fewer fighters should mean a smoother transition to the handheld platform, if/when Capcom decided to port the game.
Although, we've already seen a solid version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 released on PlayStation Vita, and the Versus fighter has a whopping 50 playable characters. If past events are any indication, Capcom shouldn't have too much trouble bringing the 5th numerical Street Fighter title to Vita (again, if they decide to go that route in the future).
Just yesterday, Mr. Ono sent out a tweet mentioning a Street Fighter 5 conference with Capcom UK that is set to take place soon. Although this will more than likely be a behind-closed-doors meeting between the Capcom representatives, we can only imagine that they're gearing up for some fresh announcements in the coming months. Hopefully we get to see Charlie (Nash) soon.

Charlie revealed. I had the sneaking suspicion, they were copying Killer Instinct. But, this confirms it. The fake instinct mode was already a tip off, but even the character trailers are the same: Tease a new character while revealing a new one. If they have Free 2 play than lol.

I didn't bother with the story in Street Fighter IV. So, I doubt I will do the same with this. But, he looks like a zombie and an Illuminati soldier.

His eye thing makes me think of a Kingdom Hearts character. So, how do you feel about this game? I was trying to stay in high-spirits but so far this game while better than SF4 is eh. It seems Capcom is trying to stay relevant but SF feels like it's over, I dunno...

I recognize that these games aren't catered to people like me, and I only game sporadically now so I just try to limit my time to good things.

Well, I'm not as disappointed as I was in 08. Man, I was heartbroken back then. But, I'm more used to the idea that Street Fighter is not the best anymore then I was back then.

I recommend you get into other games. Virtua Fighter is an excellent choice I've always played a variety of fighters in general: DOA, Soul Calibur, Tekken, KOF, Samurai Showdown and Fatal Fury. Hell, at one point I prefer KOF to SF. So, it's no skin off my bone.

Next spring it is. www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/mar/06/street-fighter-5s-release-slated-next-spring-according-capcom-unity-blog-post/PAX East is taking place this weekend in Boston, Massachusetts, and Capcom will be in attendance promoting their upcoming line up of games.
A Capcom Unity blog post went live today that shows off some of the merchandise you'll be able to pick up if you're able to check out the event in person. The brief message that introduces the Street Fighter 5 merch may have given us a more concrete idea of when we can expect the game to be officially released. STREET FIGHTER V Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter V coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring. Until then, you can sport the official SFV key art T-shirt, which features Ryu in a heroic pose, for $25.
If this is accurate, it looks as though we'll be able to get our hands on Street Fighter 5 in the Spring of 2016.

They did say 2016 if I'm not mistaken. I hope they don't put it on Evo like they did with Ultra, but knowing Capcom...

Some new info. I find the grey damage on blocked normals interesting. Check this out: www.eventhubs.com/news/2015/mar/12/no-chip-kos-street-fighter-5-gray-damage-crouch-teching-vesper-arcade-goes-over-all-game-mechanics-weve-seen-thus-far/Before we even think about getting started here, please keep in mind that this is a work in progress. Any or all of these aspects observed here can change.
We've seen a fair amount of fighting game mechanics in the past quarter century or so. From super meters to guard breaks, gray damage to reduced damage at lower life percentages, tons of nuances have come and gone from game to game.
Here we have Vesper Arcade's analysis of what we've seen so far from the game trailers and the exhibitions for Street Fighter 5.
The observations range from things like how fast the timer ticks to how quickly you gain special meter. This analysis is incredibly insightful, and does a great job of answering the questions that serious gamers will likely have.
This analysis really helps one get acquainted with the game. It gives us insight into Street Fighter 5's feel, flow and character.
There's plenty to watch as the video itself is just short of half an hour in length, so hit the jump and get started!

I remember this, chip damage does grey damage which you can regain. I dunno how I feel about this since it might make offense a bit too strong. what do you think?

Well they kept in crouch teching and SF tends to lean on the defensive side. That said it makes more logical sense than guard crush. You should take some pain when blocking rather than just using it completely. I'll have to see it in action though.

TBH, I don't think this game can live up to the hype. This might be the last Street Fighter game.

It won't outsell SF4, because way too long to make it and circumstances aren't the same like it was when 4 was being released. Just a hunch, but that's how I feel.

Yeah, but there are other fighters available. You think this will outsell SF4? Even with all the SF fanboys I doubt it.
