Heres our Mysterious character from eventhubs:
Mysterious character from Street Fighter 5's cinematic story trailer appears again in new stage
Back in January, we got to see the trailer for Street Fighter 5's cinematic story mode, and amongst the plethora of speculative theories it inspired was the question of the identity of this figure:
The trailer offered us only vague glimpses into the SF5 world, and we didn't know if this character was good, evil or neutral in alliance. Some speculated he may even be Guile or Balrog, but it looks like we've got a few answers from the Guile announcement images from earlier today.
In the Air Force stage, it looks like this same figure is amongst the background characters watching the fight.
This would imply that this character is aligned with Guile, the military operation we saw in the story trailer involves the U.S. Air Force, and while he may be important to the game's story, he won't likely have much significance elsewhere.

Heres a video of Guile doing his Sonic Hurricane from eventhubs:
Footage of Guile performing his Sonic Hurricane Critical Art in Street Fighter 5
A video just surfaced showcasing Guile's Street Fighter 5 Critical Art.
The SF veteran character has his Sonic Hurricane back, and it appears to be a charge based move. If this is indeed the case, this will be SF5's first charge Critical Art.
We saw our first glimpse of the American fighter earlier today, and hype only continues to build as we see more and more from him.
Guile is slated to drop some time this month, so players can expect him some time within the next two weeks.

Heres an interview of Infiltration from eventhubs:
'Daigo is still training; I'm looking forward to seeing how strong he is' - learn more about Infiltration in this MTV Cribs-esque interview
Core-A Gaming recently caught up with the player who is leading the charge in Capcom Pro Tour 2016 victories -- RZR|Infiltration.
Veering away from the regular interview style commonly used in this day and age, Core-A goes for more of a MTV Cribs-style piece, visiting Infiltration at his home in Korea. Not only do we get to see how the champion lives, but we are also treated to some insight on how he trains in fighting games, what his diet consists of, and more.
Infiltration mentions that a large part of his training is done by simply researching players as opposed to actually playing. As such, he's been keeping an eye on MCZ|Daigo's weekly Street Fighter 5 stream.
He notes that fans have been saying his two Capcom Pro Tour premiere event victories would have had a different outcome if Daigo were in attendance. Since we haven't seen Daigo in any of the major CPT events this year, everyone is wondering how his tournament performance will shape up once he emerges on the scene, and so is Infiltration.
"I think the fans are waiting for him since he is a FGC icon," Infiltration starts. "I'm also looking forward to seeing how strong he is."
With how strong Infiltration has been looking in tournament, it'll surely be exciting to see how The Beast stacks up.

Heres a training card from eventhubs:
Awakened talent, master martial artist and NYC pizza connoisseur: Alex's Street Fighter 5 trading card
This is the 17th card in this series that highlights each individual fighter as they are released into the game. We often get a tidbit or two of new info about the persona of these characters from these mini advertisements.
For Alex, we learn that he is a New York City pizza connoisseur, though he doesn't look like he's ever eaten a single slice of greasy, cheesy New York pizza in his life.

Here are more unused stages from eventhubs:
Street Fighter 5 almost featured a bullet train and an Italian stage where you'd fight on a boat; check out these scrapped fight locale ideas
You may have seen our recent post that details a few details on scrapped stage ideas, where we found interesting facts like that Haggar was going to be trapped on Karin's stage, and we have a just as interesting second installment for you here today.
thacmaster.proboards.com/thread/2110/street-fighter-announced-cross-play?page=76

For starters, you'll see an image of what the London stage was originally supposed to look like below, where it looks like you might have even fought on the tracks. The team liked it because it was bold, but it bore too much resemblance to an Alpha 3 stage, so it was changed.
Kanzuki Estate
The Kanzuki estate was originally a bit different as well. The ninja you see here is actually Geki, and there was talk of including Japan's Shinkansen (bullet train) zoom by in the background. The final product nixed the idea of the train, and featured a collection of ninjas in various places.
Shadaloo Base and Hong Kong Port
These two stages were replaced with Lair of the Four Kings and the Busy Hong Kong Street. The original Shadaloo base was more oriental, and set in a temple. The feel wasn't very threatening, and so the team decided to go in another direction that was more in step with their villains.
There were actually two Hong Kong stages developed simultaneously. One was a port, while the other was a street. In the end, developers found the need for only one, and wound up giving the axe to the boat-filled port.
Brazil Stages
Before the production team even knew they were going to make their Brazilian character Laura, the Brazil stage was imagined to be an MMA gym. The gym had a ton of liveliness, but the crew decided that it didn't fit the "street" theme, and scrapped it.
They transitioned the idea into more of a marketplace, and came up with the image on the right. Eventually that changed to the stage that we know in the final product.
Italian Boat and Middle Eastern Ruins
This idea sounds awesome, as the fight would have been on a boat somewhere in Italy. The water graphics were apparently very cool, and the background was ever changing as the boat flowed on. The problem with this one was the lack of an Italian character. Our fingers are crossed something like this makes it to future DLC.
Finally, there was also a stage set in the middle of some Middle Eastern ruins that were being excavated and restored. While it was a neat idea, and there was plenty to fill in the background with, it didn't really end up being relevant to the game in any way, so it was scrapped.

Heres a match between World_Combo & Daigo from eventhubs:
Daigo takes on the infamous World_Combo in a poetically beautiful bout
To appreciate this one, you'll need to know a bit of the backstory.
World_Combo is a F.A.N.G player who is best known for being smitten from atop the Street Fighter 5 leaderboards not once, but twice for leaving matches early when a loss is imminent.
We can only imagine the trail of salt WC has left in his wake for both rage quitting, and beating people with the game's most idiosyncratic character. Not too long ago, World_Combo found himself facing off with MCZ|Daigo online, and the ensuing bout played out almost as though it were scripted.
Without giving away too much, here's some rising action in the third round, just before the match's climax.

We like to think this was Daigo's post match reaction...

Heres Guile's Bio from eventhubs:
Guile is hot-blooded, likes American coffee, and fights for peace - check out his Street Fighter 5 bio, stats, and attributes here
Street Fighter 5's Guile has been unveiled, and already he's making waves across the internet.
Though his trailer was released this morning, which showed quite a bit of what he can do, there's still a bit more information about the latest DLC fighter left to look over.
The official, Japanese Street Fighter 5 website recently updated to incorporate Guile, and with this new addition came the character's bio, a chart showing his in-game stats, and a handful of attributes.
www.capcom.co.jp/sfv/sp/chara_guile.html Thanks to our very own MajinTenshinhan, we were able to score a full English translation.
To get started, check out Guile's Street Fighter 5 bio below.
Guile may look all calm and composed, but he's actually a very hot-blooded man. Both his looks and his speech is cool - a very hard-boiled fighter.
He fights for peace in his native country.
M. Bison's organization Shadaloo, which is a threat to peace all across the world, and also responsible for what happened to his friend Nash, makes this a very personal case for him.
Attributes
Height - 5ft 11in (182cm) Weight - 218lbs (99kg) Nationality - American Job - U.S. Air Force Soldier Likes - American Coffee

Heres a breakdown of Guile from eventhubs: Guile is Street Fighter 5's first fully charge-based character; see our breakdown of the all American fighter here Guile is on the verge of jumping into Street Fighter 5, and after watching his showcase from Winner Stays On, we've got something of an idea of how he'll play. Nothing beats good old fashioned hands-on time, but we do have some general thoughts on him thus far. Surely the most notable aspect of the character is that he's the first fully charge-based fighter in SF5. While others have a charge move or two, all of Guile's specials, including his Critical Art, are traditional charge moves. We naturally begin to wonder whether or not this will hinder his progress in this more rush down heavy game, but we have faith that developers had this all in mind when creating Guile. Before we start delving into any one aspect of the character, check out this monster Crush Counter combo into Critical Art. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/apr/19/guile-monster-combo/Normals The first thing we noticed, is that Guile is still Guile. He retains most all of his normal moves from Street Fighter 4, and while we'll have to see what subtle differences they hold, the transition from SF4 to SF5 doesn't look to be too daunting as far as normals go. He's still got his upside down kick, his double hitting sweep and his overhead. What may change things here, is Street Fighter 5's Crush Counter system. Players like Liquid|NuckleDu really highlighted the strength of Guile's fierce punches, and in SF5 these have a ton of potential as seen in the combo above. Matt Edwards described his couching fierce punch as "a very reliable anti-air," which is great because it seems Guile will really want to keep foes out of his face in SF5. It's also noteworthy to point out that Guile can combo his crouching light kick into standing medium punch, a rare trait in this game. Specials Sonic Booms retain their very quick recovery in this game, but Flash Kicks are not as great as they have been in the past. All Flash Kicks, save for the EX version, don't have invincibility. This echoes Karin's defensive options, and Guile's defense after being knocked down may not be the best in the game. One of the two biggest changes to Guile is his ability to crouch walk. This is performed by holding down and forward, meaning he'll be able to Flash Kick as he slowly creeps forward. He is not able to throw Sonic Booms out of this. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/apr/19/guile-crouch-walk/V-Skill and V-Trigger This move is the other major change to Guile. He can plant a stationary Sonic Boom, and shoot another through it to for a two-hit projectile that builds V-Meter on both hit and block. It'll be interesting to see how players implement this into regular gameplay, as setting it up looks like it takes a bit of time. Guile traditionally likes to dominate the horizontal space with Booms, and so giving up precious moments to set this up may be detrimental if abused. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/apr/19/guile-v-skill/Guile's V-Trigger allows him to toss a ton of consecutive Booms. Each shot depletes more of his V-Gauge, similar to the way Zangief's V-Trigger works with his spins. This will allow Guile to bombard his foe with fireballs, and enter combos like the massive one we saw at the top of this post. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/apr/19/guile-trigger/General Guile's fast walk speed combined with his fierce normals will likely make him a strong shimmy character. His game looks like it will still revolve around zoning, but like Dhalsim, he'll have more offensive capabilities than his previous iteration did. Guile's defense, as noted before, doesn't look very strong. Knocking him down and getting in his face will probably be the best approach when fighting him, which is nothing new. He looks to be the perfect combination of traditional and fresh. Guile diehards will probably enjoy playing their character, but will also welcome the new additions. His freedom to move forward a bit more than usual will also be a welcomed change. For those wondering, Guile can't remove his glasses via taunt, though his alternate costume sees him without shades. We look forward to actually playing the American badass soon, but in the meantime, we'd love to hear what you think of him thus far.

Heres stuff about Redbull Kumite from shoryuken:
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Red Bull Kumite 2016
Last March, the first Red Bull Kumite took place, pitting sixteen top Ultra Street Fighter IV players against one another. Last December, the folks at Red Bull decided to host the event again in 2016, this time with Street Fighter V serving as the proving ground.
This change in game presented an interesting situation, as invitations to the 2016 event had to start going out well before Street Fighter V’s official release. Even so, the lineup, which you can find later in this article, looks to be just as stacked as it was last year, so we should be in for quite a show.
To get things rolling, check out this trailer for the event:
Who received invitations?
The following fourteen players will be making their way out to participate in this year’s event:
Player | Team | Country Daigo | Mad Catz | Japan Luffy | Red Bull | France Alioune | blank |France Keoma | blank | Brazil Xian | Razer | Singapore Tokido | blank | Japan Momochi | Evil Geniuses | Japan Justin Wong | Evil Geniuses | United States Snake Eyez | Red Bull | United States Bonchan | Red Bull | Japan Poongko | Team Secret | South Korea Kazunoko | blank | Japan Infiltration | Razer | South Korea GamerBee | AVerMedia | Taiwan
The final two spots in the tournament will be awarded to those who fight their way through the other participants in the 256 player last chance brackets on Saturday, April 23.
When does all this go down?
Red Bull Kumite 2016 takes place over a two day period. The open qualifier tournament will be held on Saturday, April 23, and the sixteen-participant main event on Sunday, April 24. Heres Gameranx things SFV players hate from eventhubs:
Survival Mode difficulty, online issues, Ken's banana hair... Gameranx lists their top 10 things Street Fighter 5 players hate
I'll preface this with a well deserved nod to Capcom's overall success with Street Fighter 5. It's carrying the franchise, and the fighting game genre, forward to levels the FGC hadn't dreamed of just a few short years ago.
That being said, the game isn't without its blemishes, and the Mean Girl in all of us loves throwing a bit of shade here and there.
The YouTube channel Gameranx has compiled a list of things they feel the community is most disapproving of when it comes to the latest Street Fighter game. Lists like these are fun to give a look through, and compare your own personal notes with.
After you give it watch, we'd like to hear whether or not you agree with any or all of it, but also we'd like to hear how threatening you feel any or all of these issues may be towards game's longevity. The video is light-hearted in nature, but does raise some potentially important topics of discussion.

He's 5'11" and 218 pounds, naturally making him good at... darts? Guile is on his way to Street Fighter 5, and we have his official SF5 Vine to share with you.
These mini-spotlights offer a few bonus details about the game's characters. While he is an Air Force fighting champion, the incredibly bulked up Guile is also good an expert dart player, apparently.
You'll see a few of Guile's special attacks, and his stat ratings in the Vine as well. He has an interesting nickname this time around: The Air Slasher. It's either really cool, or really lame, and we leave it up to the comments section to decide that for us.

Red Bull went all out with Kumite venue, with UFC styled stage and Ryu and Chun-Li bathroom sign
Red Bull put together an amazing venue for their 2016 Kumite. With a UFC styled ring, and putting in little touches like a Ryu and Chun-Li bathroom sign, this is one heck of a setup.

Heres stuff about our champion from eventhubs:
Infiltration bleeds, but doesn't die; Street Fighter 5 reigning champion wins Red Bull Kumite after being sent to losers bracket for first time ever
Rarely are we quick to say any one player is the absolute best at any one game, but RZR|Infiltration is now a clean 3-0 at major Street Fighter 5 singles tournaments, and so we're confident in deeming him the man to beat when it comes to SF5 right now.
Indeed the EventHubs faithful agree with that sentiment, having deemed Infil the number one fighter in our SF5 tournament player database.
Red Bull Kumite 2016 just finished up in Paris, and the Korean Nash player continued his undefeated streak, though this time not without blemish.
Much like the grand finals sets at Final Round and NorCal Regionals, the only two American Capcom Pro Tour Premier tournaments thus far, Infiltration faced off against Tokido in the duel for first place. Unlike their two previous meetings however, Infiltration would not win this one from the winners bracket.
www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/apr/24/infil-reset-rbk/
After the reset, the question in everyone's mind was surely, "Will Tokido do it this time?"
In true top player fashion, Infiltration was able to adapt to his foe on the fly, ticking away bits of damage here and there, then capitalizing on the major openings that his tiring foe would eventually inevitably provide.
Tokido would go on to take only one game in their first to three set, and Infiltration would go on to be crowned this year's Red Bull Kumite champion.

Looking at the Red Bull Kumite results, MCZ|Daigo, RZR|Xian, RB|Luffy, RB|Snake Eyez and Secret|Poongko all failed to reach top eight. Street Fighter 5 is a new game, and this was an event absolutely filled with top tier competition, but to see all of those names outside of top eight is rather astonishing.

Heres whats good about Red Bull Kumite from eventhubs:
Colors, cages, cameras and competition; why Red Bull Kumite 2016 was one of the most outstanding FGC productions we've seen to date
With 16 of the world's greatest Street Fighter players in attendance, this year's Red Bull Kumite may have been the most exciting Street Fighter 5 tournament we've seen thus far. From the game play to the event production, everything about RBK 2016 was absolutely top notch and professional.
Given the UFC style setting, complete with caged ring and entrance theatrics, it goes without saying that a company like Red Bull has the financial means to put all the bells and whistles on a production. Click the image below to see a few shots that highlight this.
While the added theatrics and such certainly aid in bringing the hype, RBK also paid very close attention to the smaller, and more accessible to the everyday tournament organizer, details.
For starters, the stream station had every color unlocked for every character. When we reached out to Rachid Koga, the event's main behind-the-scenes man, he informed us that they had one staff member play through Survival Mode on each difficulty to attain said colors.
Those of us who have ground through Survival Mode, even for just our favorite character, know the struggle that is beating all 50 levels of the Hard difficulty. What a testament this was to the amount of effort the organizers were willing to put in to make their event just that much more entertaining.
Sadly, more often than not we saw the competitors choose either color one or two for their characters. Still, the unsung individual who put in all this work is the true hero of RBK 2016, I think we all would agree on that.
Red Bull Kumite also featured interviews with players after they were eliminated.. We got to hear immediate reactions from players like MCZ|Daigo, who admitted he felt he could've won the tournament, and was widely disappointed with his ninth place finish.
Though the tournament matches were the bulk of it, RBK was also enhanced with a combo competition and a special All Star Battle exhibition to give viewers breaks from the intensity of tournament play.
Another one of RBK's more dramatic components was in the trophy presentation. From what we saw, there were 16 latches on the trophy box, and each competitor was responsible for opening a latch upon elimination. Seeing Tokido unhinge that 15th lock before bowing out to allow RZR|Infiltration to claim the trophy certainly added some welcomed reality TV-esque theatrics.
Not only did Red Bull Kumite go above and beyond to ensure viewers were entertained, but it was also run very efficiently. Virtually never were there times where there wasn't something going on to ensure people didn't change the channel.
When everything was said and done, this was truly a spectator's event, and it was clear that most every decision was made with audiences in mind. Should this become more of a regular practice at FGC events, we could only expect viewership and interest to grow.
It would be wildly unfair to compare the 16-man invitational to one of the 500+ participant, multi-game major events like those on the Capcom Pro Tour, and it would be foolish to expect every fighting game production to simply imitate Red Bull Kumite.
We have indeed seen growth in production value and audience acknowledgement from many of our yearly majors though, and that stands as further encouragement for the scene. The take away here is that we're beginning to see FGC events with more and more professional appearance and execution.
It's exciting to see our scene progress to these new heights, and we're very happy to have Red Bull give us the opportunity to share the excitement of fighting games on such a prestigious stage.

Heres a collection of Guile's costumes from eventhubs:
Guile's Street Fighter 5 story mode costume is a great looking throwback - check out costume colors and the WSO replay
Yesterday was a big day for Guile fans. Not only did we see the premiere of the character's official trailer, but two live streams showing what the returning world warrior is all about aired throughout the day.
Today we have a YouTube replay of the WSO session that lead the charge in Guile gameplay footage. Capcom Fighters brings us the full session in which there is over an hour of excellent Guile play.
www.youtube.com/channel/UCPGuorlvarThSlwJpyTHOmQ Additionally, we get to see Guile's story mode costume in action, which is a great looking throwback to his classic look.
Below you will find images show colors 1-8 of his story costume and the first 10 default colors. Hit the jump to see the rest and the video.
This is wierd but for some reason I can't get this resolution on my version of SF5.

My resolution is 1920x1080 same as the setting in SF5. But, the youtube videos always look sharper for some reason. Maybe I need a 4k display.

Mine look fine in HD, but a 4k monitor maxed out will look very nice. I am not getting one because it's not fully implemented in a lot of stuff yet and I care more about performance. I am getting a G sync monitor instead.
