Part of the Story Mode looks interesting enough, I'll give them a watch on Youtube once its available I'm curious on how this will play out. (My only hope it isn't like the MK format where each character represent chapters with like 4 battles).

Catch a Glimpse of Street Fighter V’s Story Mode and More Ibuki Gameplay from IGN
With Street Fighter V’s cinematic story mode and Ibuki coming in late June, many fans are chomping at the bit to get more details.
IGN’s Vince Ingenito was able to get a short glimpse of both of these, as the game’s Associate Producer Peter “Combofiend” Rosas walks them through the first few minutes of the story mode, before eventually showing off some Ibuki play.
Along the way, they talk about how big the story update will be, with Rosas confirming that it’ll clock in at about 4 to 5 hours. As for Ibuki, Rosas talks about how he feels like she’s a character that will take time for players to figure her out. This is partly due to the fact in that she’s no longer as set play dependent, compared to her Street Fighter IV incarnation.

New Street Fighter V Screenshots Show More Stage Transitions and Alternate Stages
As we already know, Street Fighter V’s upcoming June update will bring with it a host of features, including the long awaited cinematic story expansion and returning character Ibuki. However, it will also bring a few other things aside from these.
Dengeki Online recently ran a bunch of brand new screenshots that showcase some of the new things happening with the game’s stages. We already know that the alternate, daytime version of the Kanzuki Estate stage is coming, however the screens show alternate versions of other stages, such as Shadaloo Base, as well.
More exciting, however, is a screenshot that shows that stage transitions–currently available only on the Bustling Side Street stage–are coming to other battlegrounds as well. The screenshot in question shows a transitioned version of the City in Chaos stage.
You can check these screenshots out in the gallery below, but do take note that these screenshots are from the Story and Extra Battle modes, so we will have to wait and see if they’ll be available in regular competitive play.

Street Fighter 5's story mode is a spectator experience
The long-promised new addition is a lot more watching than it is playing
Arthur Gies: I've played the first hour and change of Street Fighter 5's upcoming story mode, and whether my news is good or bad depends on what you want out of a fighting game solo offering.
I know that's infuriating to hear, and not particularly informative, but hear me out.
The reason I was hopeful for SF5's story mode was because of how I grew up playing Street Fighter. Playing against the CPU, as one character, from start to finish, was a great opportunity to get a basic feel for a character, to feel powerful without playing against a moving goalpost of evolving human capability. It was a fun way to put time into the game that didn't involve other people.
Street Fighter 5 failed in this regard at launch pretty fundamentally. Characters had three to four fights each in the shipping prologue, which is miserly, but more strangely, each match was just one round long. It was a trifle, more of a tease than a meaningful play experience. It demonstrated a completely different priority for "story mode" than what I, and, judging from some online response, many others were looking for in a single-player mode, seeking instead to build an extremely complicated, interlocking fiction for Street Fighter.
Granted, it didn't really pull that off, but in Capcom's defense, it wasn't supposed to. It was just a taste. Though, in the buying public's defense, it was just one of many underbaked elements of Street Fighter 5 at launch. Capcom suggested that this deficiency would be addressed by the addition of a proper story mode to the game, but in my time with it, there's a lot more story added than there is game.
When you begin story mode, the biggest change to Street Fighter precedent is immediate: You don't pick a character. Instead, Street Fighter 5 takes you through various characters as the story bounces from thread to thread, introducing characters to each other and setting up competing motivations to ... do ... I'm not sure, actually. There's a lot of discussion of things happening, as if Street Fighter 5 is several episodes into a television show's season, and having played through all of the prologue content a few months back, I was completely lost.
Maybe things will make more sense farther in — it's hard to fault a game's story so early on, and I'll refrain from holding that against it yet. And Street Fighter 5 is very clearly presenting itself as an anime story, and I tend not to watch much anime. So I get it. The story probably just isn't for me.
That said, my time demonstrated some problems. The most superficial and likely to be unremarked upon is the continued fan service present throughout. In case you didn't notice, Street Fighter 5 is extremely interested in detailing its female characters' asses. It's particularly creepy with upcoming DLC character Ibuki, whose canonical baggy-ish ninja outfit has been replaced with a short-skirted schoolgirl thing that still includes a ninja mask because why not.
You probably don't care about that, if my Twitter mentions are any indication. What you may care about is the structure of story mode. As in the prologue, fights here are a single round, which, at normal difficulty, could be over in seconds. Literal seconds. The story bookends to these fights can last minutes. For all but the most beginner Street Fighter players, you're going to spend 10-20 times more time watching Street Fighter 5's story mode than you will playing it.
When I was playing it, I often found myself confused about who I was supposed to be playing as — the point of view in each cutscene before the fight proved to be little indication of who the fight would belong to. I often wasn't sure which side of the ring I was on until after I got kicked in the face.
While the Capcom representative in attendance told me that I had played the first 90 minutes or so, it felt much shorter, so your time investment in the story mode will likely vary wildly based on your skill level. And your enjoyment of it will depend highly on how much you want to watch the Street Fighter cast interact — including a few unreleased characters, some of whom you can even briefly play as in story mode.
The Street Fighter 5 update containing story mode will also bring other changes with it, including the ability to spend real money on in-game cosmetic items and new characters. This is just in time to purchase the delayed Ibuki, whom I had some time to play with during my visit to Capcom.
Ibuki is a lot of fun, though I imagine she'll be met with some frustration from many players due to both her less traditional mechanics and her general utility and potential for aggression. Regarding the latter, I'll just say that Ibuki has one of the most obnoxious forward heavy kicks in the game, one which leaps into the air above low blocks and, I believe, projectiles. She's also got a bomb that she can drop and kick around before it explodes, and can also combo into that bomb's explosion. It's all kinds of obnoxious being thrown into it, for example.
Interestingly, Ibuki has a projectile attack in the form of her kunai, but she can only throw five of them before she has to "restock" her supply, a command that takes some time to complete. She can throw them singularly in the air or on the ground, but she can also throw all of them at once, which leads to fun/rude combo opportunities.

First footage of Balrog in Street Fighter 5
The first footage of Balrog (Boxer) has surfaced in Street Fighter 5 from the E3 2016 show floor.
BornFree has been sending out tweets from the scene showcasing new findings that are coming to the June update of SF5.
You can find the very short clips of Balrog below from the game's story mode, along with an image, all from BornFree.

Nighttime versions of three Street Fighter 5 stages discovered at E3
BornFree has uploaded footage of alternate versions of stages during different points of time. These stages, up until now, have only had one version set during either the day or night time.
In these videos we see the night time version of the Forgotten Waterfall (called the "Mysterious Cove" during night), the night time version of the Shadaloo Base (simply referred to as the "Shadaloo Base at Night"), and the day time version of the Kanzuki Estate (called the "Estate at Noon" during the day).
No telling what kind of different background animations we'll get with these new stages, but our fingers are crossed that we'll see new breakable walls like the ones in the Chinese Street stage.

Gameplay clip of Balrog in Street Fighter 5, many of his SF4 normals are in new game
Steven 'DreamKing' Chavez was able to see a bit more of Balrog in Street Fighter 5 at E3 2016, and shared some impressions of the character, beyond the footage we saw earlier.
He also recorded a super short gameplay clip of the boxer in a match, showing off his V-Skill, which you can find below.
Balrog's normal moves looked close to their counterparts in Street Fighter 4, although there has been no word on how the frame data has possibly changed this time around — but in terms of their appearance — things haven't strayed too far from his previous iteration.
The character model looked really cool, as Balrog has an extremely muscular appearance now, which DreamKing described as 'roided out'.
Not only is he muscular, but he takes up a good amount of real estate on screen, adding to the intimidation factor.
Unfortunately, these are all of the details we could gather at this time, but as we discover more information, we'll share it here, but you can watch the very short gameplay clip below.

So the 8f of input lag was intentional and probably used to try and hide some flaws in the netcode similar to how Tekken tag 2 has input lag which hides some of the lag when playing online. At this point if people are not satisfied with Sfv they need to give some of the other fighting games a chance. GGXrd is a good game and hopefully kof14 will be great but not to forget about the others such as the new uniel, blazblue Central fiction etc.

They felt it was going to help the gameplay stay smooth.
I wish people would give all of the other games a try but they never do. They just suck up and worship Capcom no matter what they do wrong.
Some just have to learn the hard way. I hope Tekken 7 will be decent. Injustice looks fun but NRS made some bad mistakes with PC so I might wait on that.

People will continue to complain about sfv yet still play it. GGXrd did a great thing with its tutorial. It gives new comers the option to learn about the aspects of the game and it also keeps the devs from having to feel like they have to dumb down gameplay to attract new players. It puts how much of the game the person wants to learn into their own hands so they cant blame it on not having the know how to play properly. Virtua Fighter 4 evo did the same thing and all fighting games should. If the game is difficult make a tutorial so those that want to learn can and those that dont then they cant blame the game for their lack of success. Blazblue's tutorial is good also Random thought here. 99% of casual video game fans play like in the video posted below. They just want to press buttons and see something happen on the screen. I never understood why it seems in the fighting game genre that people spaz out pressing buttons not caring about how to actually play but when these same people play fps, action adventure, platformers, sports games etc they actually try to figure out how to move, jump, shoot, use/throw items, pass the ball, do dribble moves etc. You wont see a casual gamer pressing all the buttons, churning butter with the dpad/analog stick in random sequences in a game like sonic the hedgehog 2 or one of the nba simulation games.

Maybe it's because they feel it's intense and overwhelming. People just want to "feel" like they're beating a person up and maybe mashing makes them feel like they're actually doing it better?
I will say that fighters have a much higher barrier to become skilled in compared to other games so many people don't really understand what they're doing. This is why they should have a tutorial mode. Even for more straightforward games like SFV. Modern fighters nowadays (even Kof and GG) have made their games easier mechanics wise, but at least they're not ruining the experience along with it. I never saw the point in dumbing down the game when people can just play others at their own skill level but I will say the mentality goes into other genres. People who play shooters just want to run around getting lots of kills and then end up losing to good defense and complaining about it like they do when they lose to fireballs etc.
You're right in that they pick those games up easier. I think also having a team makes people feel more comfortable so they don't feel like they're losing alone (while also blaming others).
SF just has such a die hard elitist fanbase they just can't see themselves trying anything out. I did try to get on Xrd for Steam and it was a bit empty the last time I tried, but I should give it a go again.

You would think ign journalists who review and play games for a living would have a slightly better grasp on such on old genre. Im not saying they should be doing combos, frame perfect punishes etc but they should atleast know how to block which is simply holding back.

I think they're catering to a more casual base and since FGC members will by SF anyways because it's SF I guess they don't see it as important. Being decent would definitely help.
Good they are there telling them how to play lol.

Welp, storymode is a bust.
"Street Fighter 5 story mode not as strong as NRS games, but still entertaining - initial impressions from E3 2016
EventHubs' very own Steven 'DreamKing' Chavez is on hand at E3 2016 collecting information about Street Fighter 5's June update, and relayed some initial impressions of the game's story mode.
DreamKing felt like SF5's story mode wasn't as strong as the same offerings from NetherRealm Studios, but that the mode was still entertaining and worth playing through.
The story mode functions the same way the prologues did, being only one round and about the same difficulty, meaning they'll be pretty easy for most players to cruise through. Lots of cut scene time
The ratio between actual gameplay and time viewing cut scenes is heavily in favor of the latter, with about a 15 second fight being followed by a four minute cut scene.
The scenes themselves look very good though, and are definitely entertaining.
They do a solid job of further explaining the character's personalities and expanding upon them.
Not a bad experience, but not an amazing one either
It just didn't feel like the initial scenes tied into the gameplay as much as they could have, lacking compelling reasons as to why you're fighting.
Also, because the fight scenes are so easy, it's a little detracting from the overall experience, although it's worth pointing out the game will feature a hard mode as well, which will increase the challenge.
SF5's story mode follows a linear path, which cycles through the various cast members, as you're not allowed to choose any one person's story.
Story mode is one full story arc, broken down into scenes.
Closing thoughts
I asked DreamKing if NRS games were a 10/10 for story mode, how he'd rate his initial experience with SF5's story mode, and he said about a 6 or 7 out of 10 range, but he stressed that it's still very early, and he'd like more time before offering a definitive overall score.
The reasons cited were that it's more like a viewing experience than a gameplay experience.
The graphics in this mode look terrific though, so you're getting some nice eye candy for playing through.
He added that it's a big step up from SF5's current prologue.
Overall, it's a good experience, especially for a free update to the game, but it probably won't knock your socks off.
This is just our initial impressions of story mode so far, so stay tuned for more thoughts in the future. "
So, the difficulty is the same as story mode. The same story mode a 6 month old baby could beat.

I was reading what you posted earlier about it. I thought it was saying you unlock a difficulty mode after beating it. "A new post surfaced just recently on Capcom Unity, which explained a lot about Street Fighter 5's upcoming Story Mode, but that wasn't all.
The post noted that Urien, Juri and Balrog are all going to be playable in the story mode - So we're not just getting our first taste of Ibuki this month, but the rest of this year's remaining DLC characters as well. A bunch of images posted by Capcom are featured below. Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #1 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #2 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #3 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #4 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #5 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #6 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #7 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #8 Street Fighter 5 Story Images image #9 Click images for larger versions
For further details directly from Capcom, continue below.
The SFV Story Expansion is a 3~4 hour experience titled “A Shadow Falls” and will be released at the end of this month as free DLC to all SFV players. The 5 chapter story takes place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III and bridges the events that happen in between the two stories. This is the first time in franchise history that fans will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience in a Street Fighter game.
The Street Fighter V Cinematic Story Expansion, “A Shadow Falls,” depicts the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors who rise up against them. Seven “Black Moons” are deployed by Shadaloo, granting M. Bison unimaginable power and enveloping the earth in total darkness. Seeing the moons mysteriously appear in the sky, Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li embark on an epic journey around the world to retrieve fragment pieces that are the key to stopping the “Black Moons” before it’s too late. Along the way, they encounter the rest of the World Warriors, each of whom have their own agendas and motivations in mind. The final battle between good and evil begins now… who will RISE UP?
The next related piece of awesome news: all six DLC characters are fully playable in the story mode. That’s right, in addition to Alex, Guile, and Ibuki, that means that Balrog, Urien, and Juri are also playable! The official release of these characters will not be until later in the year, which means everyone will get to play them in advance through this mode. For the DLC characters that haven’t been released at the time the story comes out, those characters shouldn’t be considered final or tournament ready, as they still need to be properly polished and balanced. So, think of this as a free preview of the characters and enjoy playing with them before they get officially released in the other competitive game modes.
Finally, you’ll be able to earn Fight Money from completing the story mode as well! A higher difficulty becomes unlocked after clearing the normal mode, which you can also earn extra Fight Money from:
Normal Mode= 30,000 FM
Extra Mode*= 50,000 FM
TOTAL= 80,000 FM
*Extra Mode (higher difficulty) unlocks after you complete Normal mode
The post on Unity went into further detail regarding something entirely different, namely the continuously delayed Zenny system implementation. Here's what was said about the Zenny system.
We have an important announcement regarding the in-game currency system. We will no longer be introducing Zenny to Street Fighter V as a real money currency option. After extensive testing and development, we came to the conclusion that it was not necessary in order to carry out our original vision for the product. Instead, we will be utilizing the PlayStation Store and Steam stores to carry out real money transactions.
Our plan for the in-game economy of SFV was always to provide players with choice. Fight Money remains as the basic currency that players can earn for FREE through gameplay and utilize to purchase characters and other awesome downloadable content like stages and costumes. For players who want to just purchase the content outright, instead of introducing Zenny, the process will be much more familiar with purchases happening through the established first party infrastructures.
The in-game store will be upgraded with the PlayStation Store and Steam real money purchase options as part of the update in late June. At the same time, the free trial period for Alex and Guile will come to an end as we previously had stated. Players will need to either obtain the characters through Fight Money, real money, or the season pass to continue using them after the update. We hope that everyone has enjoyed throwing down with these fearsome fighters and feels inclined to pick them up after testing them out during the free trial period!
We know fans have also been wondering about how content will be priced, so we created this handy chart which breaks down the content in Fight Money and real money pricing:
New Characters — 100,000 Fight Money — $5.99/€5.99 New Stages — 70,000 Fight Money — $3.99/€3.99 Alternate Stages — 40,000 Fight Money — $1.99/€1.99 Story Costumes — 40,000 Fight Money — $1.99/€1.99 Premium Costumes — $3.99/€3.99
Further, here are details on what else to expect in the June update:
The premium Battle Costumes for every character released so far will go on sale this month, and will be available for purchase with real currency only.
Story mode costumes will also be available for purchase this month, meaning you will no longer need to complete the Character Stories to gain access to the content. Story mode costumes can be purchased with either Fight Money or real currency. We’ll be breaking down all of the costumes coming with the June update in another blog this month. There may be even more surprises in store, so stay tuned!
Daily Challenges are currently being re-tooled and optimized for the game, and we will share the new timing of this feature as soon as we more details. The feature will now be called “Targets,” and they will still be daily goals for players to complete and generate Fight Money, which can be used to purchase in-game content like new characters and costumes. New single player modes including Extra Battle and Versus CPU are also in the works. We’ll share more details on these modes and features as soon as we can.
That’s all for now, but stay tuned as we’ll take a closer look at the many June update features in the days and weeks ahead. "

E3 stream to feature Street Fighter 5 Cinematic Story mode and Ibuki exhibition matches with Combofiend and Mike Ross
It wouldn't be an FGC E3 without some good old back and forth between Combofiend and Mike Ross.
These two, representing Capcom and Twitch respectively, will be showcasing some of the latest Street Fighter 5 content on Capcom Unity's live stream today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
We'll be looking forward to seeing some of the game's highly anticipated Cinematic Story Mode, and apparently we'll be seeing some sort of an Ibuki exhibition.

Mike Ross gets a full round with Balrog in Street Fighter 5, shows off both normal and special moves Mike Ross and Peter 'Combofiend' Rosas took us through about half an hour of the Street Fighter 5 Cinematic Story Mode today at E3, and this included a scene with both Balrog footage and gameplay. We didn't have Peter's learned fingers controlling Boxer to show us any of his potential, but Mike did jump on the opportunity to explore as many of the character's normals and specials as possible given the very brief time he had. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/jun/15/balrog-01/www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/jun/15/balrog-02/"I'm maining him" was the first thing to come out of Mike's mouth after finishing that round. Balrog is looking aesthetically amazing thus far, and we've really only heard good things in terms of how he plays from the few that have actually gotten their hands on him. Source: eventhubs
