Street Fighter V CPT Premier Package DLC, Nostalgic Costumes, Stages and More from Capcom’s Evo Panel
A brand new DLC package for Street Fighter V has surfaced on the PlayStation store this afternoon.
The "CPT Premier Package" boasts quite a bit of content. New costumes for Chun-Li, Cammy, and a "mystery costume," a new stage, special titles, and a color package for all 22 characters in the game.
A portion of all proceeds from this DLC go to the Capcom Cup 2016 prize pool. The price point for the CPT Premier Package has been set at $24.99, and this content will only be available until the end of November of this year, prior to the Capcom Cup.
For those that may not want to buy all of the new DLC, individual purchases are an option. The CPT costumes for Chun and Cammy cost $5.99, and the "Ring of Destiny" stage goes for $9.99.
Everything from the CPT Premier Package will be available today, except for the mystery costume. Be sure to be on the lookout for it to show up this weekend, if players choose to play the stage on stream stations, EVO content will feature on the screens in the background. This stage will see updates to banners and images as more major events on the CPT take place.
Capcom revealed new summertime costumes also being released today, one for Chun-Li, and one for R. Mika. Like the others before it, these premium costumes will cost players $3.99 a piece.
On top of that, Capcom has also unveiled some "Nostalgic costumes," featuring 3rd Strike costumes for both Ibuki and Alex, and M. Bison's stage from Street Fighter 2. This content does not yet have a release date.

Street Fighter 5's 'mystery costume' is a little too cryptic to be for a currently revealed character; here's what Eventhubs think it might be
Earlier today, we saw the reveal of a new Street Fighter 5 DLC bundle called the CPT Premier Package. This new content was made in honor of the Capcom Pro Tour and features new costumes, colors, and a brand new stage.
This DLC pack and its contents will become available today -- most likely once the Street Fighter 5 servers are up and running again around 5 p.m. PDT. However, there is one part of this bundle that players won't be able to access just yet.
Capcom announced that a "mystery costume" will join this update at a later time. Here is a quick description of the costume directly from Capcom Unity:
"We also have one more mystery costume that we will be revealing later in the year. This costume is very special and we think fans will be really excited about what this means for Capcom Cup 2016 once we officially unveil it. Stay tuned!"
Let's get right to it. This "mystery costume" looks like Akuma.
There are a few things that support the theory of this being an all new playable character. For starters, we have already seen Street Fighter 5's final two DLC characters for 2016: Juri and Urien.
Based on the playable story mode versions of each, it is pretty obvious that they are far along in development. If Capcom sticks to their release pattern of one character per month, all six DLC fighters will be available by the end of August.
This leaves a full three months before the CPT Premier Package contents go off the market (as it was revealed that they will only be available until the end of November) and the Capcom Pro Tour in December. A full three month block where another character could easily be developed.
According to the Capcom Unity description, this costume will also affect the Capcom Cup this year in some way. A new, tournament legal character for the Capcom Cup would certainly add another layer of hype to the already exciting end-of-the-year event.
Furthermore, throughout Street Fighter 5's history, anything hidden with a silhouette is often something major. The six DLC characters were first revealed as mere shadows and no names, leaving fans to start guessing who they might be.
Hiding a costume in the same way seems a little excessive, especially if it's just a new outfit for one of the current Shotos on the roster, which is what it also appears to be.
Akuma is a vastly popular character, and one that fans were surprised to see not make it into the game's initial line up. What better way would Capcom have to end the year with a bang?

New Capcom Pro Tour colors and titles are exclusive to PlayStation 4; Street Fighter 5 Survival Mode colors will go on sale in the future
By now, you've probably heard about Street Fighter 5's new DLC bundle, the CPT Premier Package. During today's Capcom panel at EVO, more details regarding the new content were revealed during the Q&A session.
According to one of the Capcom panelists, Street Fighter 5's new CPT colors and titles are exclusive to PlayStation 4. They can only be acquired by purchasing the Premier Package bundle, which is also a PS4 exclusive.
Being that this content is a celebration of the Capcom Pro Tour, and PlayStation 4 is the official destination of the CPT, the company decided to make these special additions only obtainable on consoles.
PC users can still purchase the new Capcom Pro Tour costumes and stage individually, though.
The game's Survival Mode colors were also discussed during the presentation. Fans have been asking for a color purchase option since the game released back in February due to the difficulty of the endurance mode.
Today, we learned that Capcom will be putting colors on sale in the future, though no time frame was given.

'Rage quitters will be dealt with' - Capcom says new solutions still on the way, open to adding more stage transitions
During Capcom's panel over at EVO 2016, the panelists discussed a wide array of topics concerning Street Fighter 5. Luckily, our own John "Velociraptor" Guerrero managed to gather the intel from the panel and relay it back to us.
One of the questions sent Capcom's way during the Q&A session touched on the rage quitting issue. The Capcom panelist assured attendees that more solutions are still on the way.
"Rage quitting, we do know, is a big issue," Capcom said. "We want to assure you that we are looking at various different ways to prevent rage quitting, to stop rage quitters. We aren't able or ready to announce anything at this time, but rest assured it certainly is on our radar.
"Rage quitters will be dealt with."
Keeping with the in-game additions motif, one attendee asked if we'd be seeing any more stage transitions in Street Fighter 5. As many know, the Bustling Side Street China stage has a second portion of the battlefield that can be accessed by sending your opponent through the restaurant door.
Though Capcom couldn't share anything concrete just yet, things do look hopeful based on what Street Fighter 5 Associate Producer Peter "Combofiend" Rosas had to say.
"We don't have any official announcement just yet, but we did start with the China stage, and just keep your eyes open," Combofiend said.

Check out this gallery of the new costumes and colors for Street Fighter 5
We've built an image gallery of the new costumes and colors released in the CPT Premier Pack package today for Street Fighter 5, including a couple of shots of the new stage.
If you want to see how your character will look sporting the new CPT color before you decide to buy the pack or not, this is a good place to look.
For some reason the EX2 colors for Zangief, Fang, Nash, Birdie and Necalli are not showing up.

'Ibuki is really strong when she has V-Trigger...but without the gauge, its a little harder' - Sako talks early Ibuki impressions and more
BornFree has wasted no time making the rounds at EVO. This time around, he's caught up with HORI|Sako for some insight on how he feels about Ibuki so far, and much more.
Sako is certainly no stranger to Ibuki. So far, he's found that some of her new techniques fit really well with his playstyle, and he's looking forward to playing her in Street Fighter 5. He goes on to state that he's had to adopt a more aggressive approach with her because of the nature of the game.
Many fans have been waiting with bated breath to see if Sako will be bringing his Ibuki to the EVO stage this weekend. After only two weeks with her, Sako feels like his Ibuki is an incomplete work, but that doesn't mean that we won't get a glimpse of her. He says that he's willing to pick her if he sees the opportunity to do so.
The two cover many more topics in the interview; check the video description for time stamps that can bring you directly to what you want to see. Sako's pool starts at 10AM PST, so also be sure to keep your eyes peeled for him.

Silly that PS4 gets them only and we don't get the bundled price, but you can mod those colors in if you want.
The costume and the stages are not bad, I seem to get lag on them though.
I don't like how they screwed over modding though with their changes but I found a way around that with hex editing. Pain in the ass tbh.

'You have to think quickly, and some players use what they can come up with the quickest' - Combofiend on anti-airs in Street Fighter 5
The risk/reward ratio for anti airs in Street Fighter 5 has been subject to scrutiny from some members of the community. At this point, many feel as though things are tilted a bit too much in favor of the player jumping in.
Yesterday's Capcom panel offered attendees a shot to ask the developers themselves, and an inquiring mind brought up the issue. Capcom's Peter "Combofiend" Rosas stepped up to speak his piece on the matter.
"Better anti-air is more timing specific, and in effect more risky, so the reward is a lot higher," Combofiend says. He cites Ryu's standing heavy kick as an example; using the move to anti air is definitely tougher than something like a dragon punch, but netting a crush counter leads to more damage opportunity.
When it comes to using jabs to anti-air, Combofiend points out that a successful jab anti-air puts the player in position to mix up their opponent. While the damage from the jab could be considered negligible, the potential damage from the follow-up could deal just as much damage as a jump in combo.

Juri Confirmed as Next Street Fighter V Roster Addition, Coming by the End of the Month
Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono just confirmed that Juri will be the next character to join the Street Fighter V cast. Thanks to the game’s Cinematic Story Mode and the work of some rather creative fans, we’ve already had a great chance to see the Korean fighter in action.
But knowing that she’s next isn’t enough; Ono was also happy to announce that she will be making her way to the game at the end of this month.

Yoshinori Ono Apologizes for No New Street Fighter V Reveals at Evo 2016 Finals
Many players come to expect big reveals at the close of a major event–and as Evo is as big as they get, some were undoubtedly expecting something new from Capcom for Street Fighter V either before or after the top 8 fought it out. Katsuhiro Harada revealed Bob and Master Raven were bound for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, complete with gameplay trailers; and while we got the announcement of a forthcoming Evo Japan, and confirmation that Juri will be available before July is over, Yoshinori Ono provided no surprise character(s) or other content before or after the finals.
Ono responded on Twitter to disappointment voiced about the lack of new SFV content as compared to Tekken’s, apologizing to fans and indicating more is to come before and/or at Capcom Cup:
The Capcom panel at Evo 2016 did already reveal the CPT premier content package, including the Ring of Destiny stage that was featured throughout the SFV finals.

Ryu travels the world, aiming to become a true martial artist - Street Fighter 5 profiles move on to playable characters with Ryu leading the pack
The latest profile on the CFN portal is actually profile #100 overall, and who would be more fitting for such a iconic number than the series' main character himself, Ryu.
As we move on to playable characters, they have more art pieces attached to them as well. Ryu also has a two-fold profile, one for himself and one for his dark side, when he's swallowed up by the Satsui no Hado. Here's a glimpse at Ryu's artwork.
Introduction
To commemorate our 100th profile post, we've got the main character himself, Ryu.
It really couldn't be anyone but him, right?
Basic info
Name: Ryu Height: 175cm Weight: 85kg Blood type: O Birthday: 21st of July country of origin: Japan Likes: Martial arts in general, Mizu Yōkan Dislikes: Spiders Fighting style: A personal fighting style with Ansatsuken at its roots
Profile
Aiming to become a "true martial artist", he travels the world - he's the series' main character.
After noticing that he had the Satsui no Hado, a power rooted in darkness, inside of him he's been meditating hard to try and confront it.
Just what will Ryu awaken to during his battle against the ancient warrior Necalli, who consumes souls of the strong?!
Introduction
Here he is! Awakened to the Satsui no Hado!
This is Ryu when he was consumed by the dark power.
His moves are similar to Necalli's... Is there any connection there?
Basic info
Name: Ryu Height: 175cm Weight: 85kg Blood type: O Birthday: 21st of July Country of origin: Japan Likes: Defeating strong opponents Dislikes: Weaklings
Profile
Ryu, on the very opposite end of "the power of nothingness".
Has he fallen to the Satsui no Hado?!
In exchange for powerful techniques and superhuman abilities, he has lost his very self.
For the Satsui no Hado to be able to transform someone to such an extent... How terrifying!

Ed can emit Psycho Power and Abel was originally a replacement body for M. Bison - Street Fighter 5 profiles continued
Moving along from Shadaloo's dolls, here are some new Street Fighter 5 character profiles for you to peruse.
This time, we have two characters who were involved with the game's Story Mode, namely Ed and Abel.
Ed is a mysterious young boy who was saved by Balrog a while back, while Abel was originally meant to be a replacement body for M. Bison but was discarded.
Introduction
This guy might've piqued your interest, no?
He's the youngster who was working together with Balrog. He's got quite the mysterious aura about him.
Basic info
Name: Ed Height: 167cm Weight: 58kg Blood type: Unknown Birthday: 3rd of September Country of origin: Unknown Likes: Billiards Dislikes: Idealistic people
Profile

The soldier working against Shadaloo! Abel!
I ran into him just last week, so he's no stranger to me!
My stomach still hurts!
Basic info
Name: Abel Height: 198cm Weight: 85kg Blood type: A Birthday: 5th of November Country of origin: France Likes: Dogs, bears Dislikes: Oysters
Profile
Abel was wounded during an infiltration mission. He is resting at the Kanzuki estate.
He fights with mixed martial arts fitting of someone with army training. He might seem uncaring at first glance, but it's not that he dislikes people, he's simply a person who is a bit too serious, and courteous to a careful degree.
He's a person of special interest due to his involvement with bringing down S.I.N, a company related to ours, in the last game.
He's a warrior who was originally born to be a replacement body for master Bison.
Rumor has it he was disposed of due to a number of inconveniences...
Hmm! I recently saw a Shadaloo soldier that looked a lot like him, too!
Hmm, I guess some people just look really alike... When he got stuck in the elevator door he yelled "KARADA GAAAA" (Abel's death cry from Street Fighter 4)

Mad Gear galore - Edi E is a corrupt cop, Abigail doesn't know where he's from and Belger can actually walk in these latest Street Fighter 5 profiles
It's no secret that Final Fight is closely intertwined with Street Fighter, especially with a whole bunch of the former's main characters making playable appearances throughout the Street Fighter series.
Even though Street Fighter 5 doesn't have any Final Fight representative quite yet, there's been no shortage of mention of Metro City and its largely repulsive inhabitants in the CFN portal's Street Fighter 5 profiles.
This time, we're going for the big guns - Edi E, the corrupt cop who hates Cody, Abigail, the gang's powerhouse who doesn't even know what country he's from and the big kahuna himself, supposedly wheelchair-bound Belger, are being detailed by Capcom.
Introduction
Much like the picture suggests, he's a corrupt cop.
He's officially in charge of keeping the order in Metro City during nighttime, but he always just lets people do what they want!
Basic info
Name: Edi E Height: 204cm Weight: 145kg Blood type: O Birthday: 21st of July Country of origin: U.S.A. Likes: Bloody steaks Dislikes: Cody
Profile
He's the typical bad guy, helping the strong and oppressing the weak.
However, he knows how to work the world to his advantage, so he's able to do much for his own gain.
Anyone who opposes him is ruthlessly beaten with his baton. He always eats a type of gum that helps him recover his strength.
It's a special type of gum that tastes like 42910 points.
Introduction
The giant of the Mad Gear gang, wearing a leopard-print tanktop.
It sure was scary when you met him at the Statue of Liberty...
He's apparently really good at quizzes.
Basic info
Name: Abigail Height: 244cm Weight: 265kg Blood type: AB Birthday: 16th of October Country of origin: Canada Likes: Bananas Dislikes: Rust
Profile
He kept telling people that he was from Holland, but it says Canada in his passport. That's how clueless he is.
He's the strongest member of the Mad Gear gang.
He doesn't have any particular fighting style, but he will charge at you with great force if you make him mad.
He's apparently still growing, heightwise.
Introduction
The person who took control of Metro City!
Yes, that very man who fired a crossbow at you from his wheelchair!
The boss of the Mad Gear gang!
Basic info
Name: Belger Height: 193cm Weight: 105kg Blood type: B Birthday: 9th of April Country of origin: U.S.A. Likes: Having influence, diamonds Dislikes: Haggar, Zombies
Profile
As a symbol of all of his power, he remodeled his wheelchair into a super highpowered electrical chair, and kept a crossbow with him.
His legs are actually fine, and when he from time to time does get out of the chair, he'll move around at amazing speeds.
He took control of Metro City through violence and fear, by using his vast fortunes.

'We're all looking at character types and uniqueness, as well as fan favorites' - Combofiend talks future Street Fighter 5 DLC
Street Fighter 5's first wave of DLC characters is a diverse selection that adds series mainstays to the roster and brings back some old fan favorites that have been very highly requested over the years. These character choices were very likely locked in early in the game's development, but now that Capcom's latest fighter has been in the hands of the public for a while, what is the company looking for in future DLC fighters?
Back at E3 2016, we asked Street Fighter 5 Associate Producer Peter "Combofiend" Rosas if there were specific criteria that Capcom is looking to hit with the next wave of additional fighters. Are they aiming for unique play-styles all around? Will the next batch be strictly fan-service?
"I would say it's definitely a combination of both," Combofiend told EventHubs. "There are characters that fans like, that they want to see, they're vocal about it — we're very aware of what characters those are."
Despite fan uproar, Rosas says that future character additions are still being decided. This isn't a bad thing, however, as it gives Capcom the opportunity to bring fresh move sets into the mix.
"Additionally, there are openings for unique play-styles, and much like how we added Laura who had a unique fighting style, we see that as an opportunity to put a character in there that has a unique fighting style that has never been in Street Fighter. We're all looking at character types and uniqueness, as well as fan favorites," Combofiend concluded.
Fortunately for Capcom, the Street Fighter series has a vast array of characters to choose from. We've seen dozens of designs for characters old and new in Street Fighter 5 via concept art on the CFN Portal.
Each character has been featured with a stats, likes / dislikes, and a quick bio detailing how they'd fit into the game's story line. This got us wondering whether the concept pieces may be blueprints for these characters, or if we'll see different designs down the road -- if they should so happen to make it into the game.
"It's concept art," Rosas started. "It's giving the community greater insight as to what we were working on when we were developing the game. So when the fans ask 'Why didn't my favorite character make it into the game?' or 'What would my character look like in Street Fighter 5?' It's to give you a little taste of that.
"We conceptualized a lot of characters when we were deciding who would make it and who wouldn't, and you're seeing the fruits of that."

Street Fighter V’s ESPN2 Viewership Results: Over 201K Tuned In
A Street Fighting spectacle like none before it: ESPN2 covered Evo’s Street Fighter V finals at Mandalay Bay Sunday night, and shared the intense action and roaring crowd with a new audience. How many tuned in to watch?
Evo’s finals reached over 201,000 viewers through ESPN2, in addition to 213,927 Twitch viewers and 182,716 on the main stream. This puts Evo viewership well in line with E-LEAGUE, and removes any doubt that there is indeed a future for this sort of fighting game tournament coverage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bill Walton Loves Evo, and He Wants the World to Know Evo 2016 ended up being a huge turning point for it’s visibility in outside-the-FGC news media. As the event drew record breaking numbers, it aired for the first time ever on ESPN2. Perhaps, though, there’s no better sign of it’s continued creeping into mainstream acceptance than Legendary Bruin Center Bill Walton gushing over the event.
Walton sang the praises of games he was clearly emotionally invested in watching, and the sportsmanship and history that went on there. In the all-to-brief segment, Walton surprised his interviewer with boundless enthusiasm and knowledge.
Then he was asked what got him into the FGC in the first place.
“My future is the business of sport,” Bill pulled back his giddy grin for a bit to get serious. Still passionate, but now he was being predictive; “This is what the business of sport is about for all of our future.” It was hard to read this any other way: Walton was openly championing continued FGC coverage.
“We got to witness some of the greatest champions I have ever been close to.” To hear Bill say that and name check SonicFox, Chris G, Justin Wong, and not, you know, a sports figure the ESPN demographic would normally applaud… for our community, that’s powerful.
Little Billy warning you not to miss the “intergalactic championship” of Street Fighter V shows just how real the fun he’s having is. ESPN, or really anyone, should consider using him as their regular E-sports spokesperson. Palpable passion and name recognition both go a long way, and he has both.
Between his endorsement, Xavier Woods, Jamie Lee Curtis, and more, Evo’s profile keeps getting raised.

Ken has grown even stronger through having a family that supports him - Ken and his sinister alter-ego Violent Ken detailed in latest SF5 profiles
Moving further with the playable Street Fighter 5 cast, we have Ken Masters being detailed in the latest CFN post.
This isn't just about the Ken we know and love, though, but we're also seeing the alternate universe Violent Ken from the SNK vs. Capcom series being explained.
Introduction
This is our main character Ryu's eternal rival, Ken.
Basic info
Name: Ken Height: 175cm Weight: 83kg Blood type: B Birthday: 14th of February Country of origin: U.S.A. Likes: His family, pasta Dislikes: Umeboshi, soap operas Fighting style: A personal fighting style with Ansatsuken at its roots
Profile
By gaining his own family that supports him, he's grown even stronger.
Since he's at the very top of a huge American corporation, he has very little grief and is a bright person.
In this title, he accepts the call from Karin Kanzuki and works to stop the Black Moon plan from proceeding, all the while maintaining his promise to have a rematch with Ryu, who is currently struggling to overcome the Satsui no Hado that has infected him.
Introduction
For some reason, Ken was never touched by the Satsui no Hado.
However, through the use of Master Bison's Psycho Power, we here at Shadaloo managed to make him our puppet (this is from an alternate storyline)
Basic info
Name: Ken Height: 175cm Weight: 83kg Blood type: B Birthday: 14th of February Country of origin: U.S.A. Likes: Bloody conflict Dislikes: Boredom
Profile
As Ryu was approaching his goal of being a true martial artist, Ken was feeling impatient and jealous of him.
That became a weakness in his heart, which was taken advantage of.
Master Bison's Psycho Power feeds off of fear and agony, so it was very easy to take control over him.
The flames he engulfs himself in turned purple, and each of his strikes was now filled with hate.
However, at the sight of his eternal rival Ryu's red headband, he managed to return to his senses.
His heart that cares for other people - That is Ken's strength.

Chun-Li and R. Mika Officially Join the Summer Fun with New Costumes in Street Fighter V
As promised, the Capcom Pro Tour Premium content (including the Evo-customized Ring of Destiny stage, as well as new costumes and other items) is already available for purchase individually or as a bundle on PSN, but Capcom snuck in two of the previously leaked swimsuit outfits as well: Chun-Li and R. Mika have joined Karin on the beach with new premium costumes, now available for purchase.
The outfits will set you back three to four dollars or euro each, depending on your region. With the swimsuit and CPT costume selections, it seems clear that rather than Street Fighter IV’s full-cast outfit spreads, we can expect individual characters to get their own unique outfits in more single-shot purchases going forward.

Evo was pretty intense. What do you guys think about the Esports aspect of Capcom. Yep. I use the wet leotard mod and it makes it pretty much see through. The censorship was still dumb though. They keep doing crap like this. It's annoying. They also censored her again during her super. Cammy is just a big target it seems.

'We should have better communicated that content would drop on an on-going basis' - Capcom EU reps talk about SF5's failings and its strong core
In a recent interview with MCV UK, two of Capcom's European representatives talked about what went wrong with the launch of Street Fighter 5, and how they feel about the strong core of the game itself.
First, European CEO Katsuhiko Ichii spoke about the game's launch.
Katsuhiko Ichii: The launch of Street Fighter V was not very good. We have heard and accepted all the users’ voices. It should have been better organised, it should have been better explained. Now, what we need to do is just improve the game. Right now R&D is working hard to add more content and make the users happy.
Antoine Molant: We always communicated that this was a service-based model game, but we should have better communicated that content would drop on an on-going basis. The online server situation was definitely a key learning for us, the fact that an online game wouldn’t have properly running servers... that was not right.
The gameplay at its core is brilliant. Nobody is complaining about that. It is the rest of it, the coating... that’s what people are complaining about, and for good reasons. At the core we have a very good game, we just need to make sure we express its potential to the fullest.

Juri official release trailer, date / time revealed; New Street Fighter 5 Summer costumes on the way
At the first of Capcom's San Diego Comic-Con panels today, the company revealed new information on Juri -- Street Fighter 5's next DLC fighter.
We have learned that Juri will go live on Tuesday, July 26 and players can get their hands on the new addition at 5 p.m. PDT. Alogn with Juri, players will be able to pick up her Story and Premium costumes, which can be seen in the images below.
Juri is back and craftier than ever, with a new look and more tricks up her sleeves. As a trained expert in Taekwondo, Juri also possesses a ki booster called the Feng Shui Engine built into her left eye.
In Street fighter 5, she is all about "flashy, fast and furious kicks," and has a numerous ki-based attacks at her disposal.
V-Skill
Kasatsushu: Juri builds charges up and rushes at the opponent, kicking them from behind. Juri can choose to charge Kasatsushu by holding down the V-Skill command. During this charge, she can cancel Kasatsushu at any time by inputting a forward or backward dash. Additionally, she maintains her charge level after the cancel.
V-Trigger
Feng Shui Engine Type Alpha: Juri activates the Feng Shui Engine which allows her to cancel all of her standard attacks, both in the air and on the ground, into one another. In addition, each strength of her Fuharenkyaku attacks will remain in their charged state.
Critical Art
Sakkai Fuhazan: Juri kicks out a large slicing blast towards the opponent that hits multiple times.
Additionally, Cammy, Laura, and Ibuki will each be getting their own Summer alternate outfits, much like the ones already available for Karin, Chun-Li, and R. Mika.
Each premium costume will run for $3.99 USD, and will also become available for purchase on Tuesday.
In preparation of the July update, Capcom will be conducting server maintenance from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 26th. San Diego Comic-Con attendees can try Juri out at the Street Fighter 5 booth before her official release next week.

Special Costumes Designed by Legendary Artist Akiman Coming to Street Fighter V
Throughout the years, a number of talented artists cut their teeth working at Capcom, creating art for games such as Street Fighter. One of these is none other Akiman, known as Akira Yasuda in real life, Akiman did the art for a number of classic Capcom titles in the 90s before leaving in 2003. Since then, Akiman has gone on to work in animated productions such as ∀ Gundam, Code Geass, and Gundam Reconguista in G.
Now, Akiman is once again doing art for Street Fighter. At the San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono announced a special line of alternate costumes designed by Akiman for Street Fighter V. Alongside the announcement, Ono tweeted a sample of the design for Chun-Li’s costume from Akiman himself.
Specific details about these costumes however, such as pricing, whether or not they can be purchased with Fight Money, and who else will be getting them aside from Chun-Li are as of yet unknown.

Chun is going to have like 500 costumes.
I like how Ibuki looks like Strider though. Something of note is that her breasts didn't get expanded and actually got reduced as she has some of the largest chest out of the female characters. Larger than Chun's too if I'm not mistaken.

'If command throws were left as they were, they'd be really, really strong' - Combofiend explains why SPDs are toned down in Street Fighter 5
Because command throws don't operate quite as they used to, the community has made the assessment that the grappler characters in Street Fighter 5 fall lower on the game's tier list than others. Combofiend does not agree.
"That's totally off. When I think of R. Mika, there's no way that she's weak. Once she gets in, you're freaking out," Rosas was quick to say.
"Birdie, he's not really a command grab character, his buttons are strong, but he has the ability to grab you when you're blocking, that's amazing. Laura, when she gets in, same thing, people are constantly trying to get away. She has her elbow to get in close, so I don't think she's very weak, and her normal buttons are pretty good.
"Lastly, Zangief, his range is really far, and he does a lot of damage. I think the issue may be when they refer to [command grab characters being weak], they're specifically referring to Zangief, and the fact that he's a little less mobile than the other three.
"That's the only thing I'm really seeing there, I don't really think command grab characters are weak, if anything — they're really strong, because they're the only ones that can stop you from blocking. If you're continuously blocking overheads, lows and highs, and somebody just grabs you, what can you do to stop that?" In Street Fighter 5, command throws are lacking some of the strengths they once had in previous games. With increased start up, long recovery times, and the removal of most hard knockdowns in the game, it's pretty clear that SPDs have been toned down a bit in the latest Street Fighter title.
Before you shout claims of grapplers being nerfed into the ground, though, you may want to hear what Street Fighter 5 Associate Producer Peter "Combofiend" Rosas had to say on the matter at E3 this year.
We first asked Rosas if this change was a conscious design choice made by the development team.
"It was to an extent," Combofiend started. "Street Fighter 5 has fewer defensive abilities, you don't have very many options to get away from the opponent. You don't have backdash invincibility, there are less invincible reversal moves, what you have more of are V-Reversals, jumping or movement.
"If command throws were left as they were, they'd be really, really strong, especially when a person is constantly blocking, taking recoverable damage, and trying to get away. "
Combofiend went on to explain that there are many factors to take into account, and grappler characters still strike fear into opponents. He notes that even with the longer startup on some of the command throws, they're still highly effective — citing R. Mika as a character that is extremely dangerous once she gets the opponent cornered.
"The last thing you want to do is create a command throw that a person can't see or escape from," Rosas said.

Combofiend: We want to keep option selects in Street Fighter 5, but make them extremely challenging to do
Back in March, we learned of the existence of Street Fighter 5's jump-throw tech option select. This particular set up was deemed quite strong, and was patched out of the game by Capcom shortly after it surfaced due to how many different options it covered.
With Capcom planning on making big balance changes only once a year, we were left curious about what challenges their team may have run into when removing the powerful option select. Luckily, Street Fighter 5 Associate Producer, Peter "Combofiend" Rosas, was happy to oblige during our chat at E3.
"We looked at all the various ways to address it," Peter started. "One of the big things we didn't want to do was affect the game too greatly, because we said we wouldn't make any real balance changes [for about a year.]
"At the same time, we didn't want the game devolving into option selects, that was one of our missions when we first designed the game. That solution was thoroughly tested, and it seemed to be the best one to stop that option select."
Combofiend feels as though the implemented fix has successfully done its job, as the OS isn't quite as prominent as it was before. "Now what I see is someone just jumping away because they're freaking out, versus before where it started to look like that's all anybody was doing," he said. So, is Capcom looking to eliminate all option selects from Street Fighter 5? Despite the "anti-option select" tone of the game, it looks as though wiping them out completely isn't the plan.
"Option selects are still present, but they're extremely hard to do," Rosas explained. "If you want to take it to that extreme and master those option selects, you can try, but trying to land something where you only have a frame to get it right every time can be more detrimental than positive in this game.
"We want to keep it there, but just make it extremely challenging to do."
Back in the Street Fighter 4 series, option selects gave players great reward for little to no risk. With the way option selects work now, Street Fighter 5 players can benefit from an OS, but there's much more risk, and that's the way Capcom wants to keep it.

Ultradavid - I don't want to see the FGC become like League of Legends, where one company has too much power
If you have any sort of vested interest in the fighting game community, then you more than likely have come across UltraDavid at some point by now.
A tenured member of the FGC, David has made a name for himself as a host/commentator to the level that some would call him the "American voice of Street Fighter." Daily Dot's very own Steve Jurek caught up with him for an interview a couple of weeks ago at CEO.
When asked about his comfort level in regards to his voice within the FGC, David responds: "Not just in this context, but I feel like sometimes it's thrust upon me to have responsibilities like that...I don't want to have it be that I'm some exclusive representative."
David goes on to state that he'd like to also hear different voices be heard, noting that there are many perspectives outside of his own that should be heard.
With the massive growth that the community has seen in recent years, we have more eyes on us now than ever before. In some cases, difficult decisions have had to be made, and Steve made sure to get David's opinion on the matter.
"I dont want to have a 'Riot,' in respects to League of Legends. I just feel like that's a risk that I don't want to take," David says. When it comes to having a "governing body" for the FGC, it appears that David's biggest worry is having a "king" homogenize the unique sects that our community currently has to offer.
In the interview UltraDavid also speaks his mind on the current state of Street Fighter 5, and a couple other controversial topics.
