Street Fighter 5 has an average input lag of 6.5 now according to Display Lag's initial draft test Initial tests of Street Fighter 5's input lag with the 1.09 release of the game show a reduction in input lag, down to about an average of 6.5 frames. The game has previously been documented as having about 7.9 frames of input lag on the PS4, prior to this patch that was released on Sept. 22, 2016. thacmaster.proboards.com/thread/2110/street-fighter-announced-cross-play?page=81at May 19, 2016 at 10:09pm posted by NyuNozomiHyuga Display Lag posted a new video which added a caveat that the "test is a rough draft until our new testing method is finalized soon. Due to the nature of this test, it may be slightly inaccurate due to the lack of an LED to determine activation point." Display Lag also noted that "it's still ~2 frames behind Ultra Street Fighter 4 using this testing method," but they will update with new information when new testing equipment arrives, as this current method is prone to inaccuracies. Could Street Fighter 5's season one leaks have an effect on season two's DLC plans?
We've just barely wrapped up the contents of Street Fighter 5's season 1 DLC, and it's pretty safe to say that getting to this point was a journey. The road to Capcom Cup 2016 so far has been paved with quite a bit of emotion, so it's hard not to wonder how things are going to go moving forward.
Datamining played a pretty big role in the course of events of this season's DLC; at almost every step of the road, savvy PC users out there searched through every nook and cranny that they could hoping to uncover hidden tidbits about content coming to the game, and often times this lead to massive leaks.
At the end of last year, Capcom's Director of Brand Marketing and eSports, Matt Dahlgren spoke with us a bit on the topic, and what he had to say at the time could be quite telling of how Capcom decides to handle things moving forward, especially considering that the leaks didn't exactly slow down.
"I think the biggest safeguard is that we shouldn't have the content in there to begin with. It was a basic oversight that we didn't catch this time around," says Dahlgren. On one hand, seeing some content before it gets released to the public can be pretty hype, especially if the leaked content isn't complete. When things like this come out of the woodwork, some players are beside themselves with excitement for what's to come.
On the other hand, content leaks can be a total hype killer. For example, when the Easter egg for Urien's classic outfit was uncovered, fans were excited to know that the option was not only present, but also free of charge. Imagine how much more hype that discovery would have been had it been a surprise.
Back when the data hidden in the Street Fighter 5 beta leaked several members of the release cast, Dahlgren didn't place much of the blame on the fanbase.
"I don't think we can really blame fans for being so passionate that they want to go in and try to find everything out. I think the onus is more on us to be a bit more proactive to make sure that information isn't there for them to find to begin with," he says.
Capcom could not have been happy with things like Chun-Li and Cammy's Pro Tour costumes leaking, among other things.

VesperArcade Warns of Street Fighter V’s New Survival Mode Bug
The Street Fighter V September update reduced many players’ motivation to fire up Survival Mode, by making the coveted costume colors unlockable by spending Fight Money (or real money); but there still remain the rewards of XP and Fight Money for slogging through the reviled mode. However, you might want to hold off trying to get those rewards from Survival for a little while.
VesperArcade reports that on both PC and PlayStation 4, a glitch has surfaced in Survival Mode (Normal difficulty and above) that–logged into the server or not–that prevents a player from receiving rewards for the mode’s completion. As if Survival Mode could get get any worse–be warned that some real frustration might be in store for you at the end if you try to earn that extra Fight Money right now.

Street Fighter 5's Daily Challenges in danger of being too easy for their own good? Here's what we'd hope to see out of the game's newest feature
Street Fighter 5 has been out for nearly seven and a half months now, and last week's update finally saw the inclusion of the promised Daily Challenges.
These challenges would serve as another reason for players to explore the game, potentially being urged to use different characters, strategies and game modes to complete them.
Not only would they freshen SF5 up a bit, but they'd also be a brand new means of gaining Fight Money, the in-game currency used to purchase new colors, stages and characters.
Last Thursday's update saw said challenges go live, but they weren't quite what we expected. Given the title "Daily Challenge" we figured we'd be getting one or more objectives each day. An in game example showed us character specific tasks such as performing Ryu's Hadouken 30 times or winning 30 Ranked matches with M. Bison.
When the update actually came out however, we found that Daily Challenges, (now called "Missions") were four generic objectives ranging from playing in a single Ranked match to replaying Karin's Story Mode.
If Survival Mode came across as too difficult to be fun, this new mode seems to yield the same outcome by being too easy.
The patch went live at 9:00 p.m. and we were done with all four missions at 9:18 p.m. Nabbing 7,000 FM was very nice indeed, but if Capcom's goals with including this mode were to get players to play more, this initial release did not show much promise.
What's more, the four objectives have five to seven day windows, meaning they're closer to weekly rather than daily challenges.
Players will be happy to get FM regardless, but the ease and lack of character specificity we saw in this first round of DC's make us wary that the Mode may not achieve its potential in getting more people to play and explore the game on a daily basis.
We withhold absolute judgement until we see a few more sets of these challenges roll through, but if they become a reason to play the game once a week for 20 minutes as opposed to once a day for at least 20 minutes, we may write them off as a missed opportunity.

Update regarding the Ver.1.09 title update for the PC version of Street Fighter V
We have new information regarding the update (Ver.1.09) for the PC that was distributed on 9/22.
After providing the update, we have received many inquiries, and after investigating the issue we have discovered that part of the data in the update contains a program with some security risks.
We have also confirmed that the quick-fix patch we distributed on 9/23 to address the issue PC users were having with launching the game, also fixes the security risk noted above.
We are asking users who did not update their game with the 9/23 quick-fix update, to update their game using the steps below:
If you have Street Fighter V running, please close the application. Please keep the Steam Client running. The update for Street Fighter V should begin automatically. Once the update is completed, close the Steam Client and restart your PC. *The update won’t be applied until you restart your computer.
By performing the update using the steps listed above, you can remove the security risk, but we are also preparing a tool that will remove the unnecessary file from your system and we’ll provide this in the next few days.

Street Fighter V’s Latest Update Fixes Survival Mode Bug
As we reported previously, the September 22 update evidently introduced a bug to Survival Mode that prevented players from receiving earned rewards upon completion. Last night, Capcom rolled out a patch to both platforms to address this. (Check for Post at Sep 27, 2016 at 5:43pm by NyuNozomiHyuga)
The patch apparently also addresses an issue of cross-play compatibility that arose between the PC and PlayStation4 versions of the updated game. VesperArcade headed to his YouTube Channel to discuss the patch–and its purpose–in a little more detail, in the video below:

What “Illuminati Secrets” Are Capcom Hiding in Street Fighter V? Perhaps Urien isn’t the only one with a hidden costume? Capcom posted this to Twitter earlier today, and asked a single cryptic question: The clear “differences” in question are the absence of costume components on both Necalli and Chun-Li’s Capcom Pro Tour outfits–Necalli’s coat and Chun-Li’s feather boa. This has lead to speculation that the modified costume is selectable by a button-press code, in the same way Urien can switch to his Street Fighter III look (hence the suspicious “Illuminatisecrets” hashtag); however, the reduced life bars have led others to consider that the costume parts have been “knocked off,” in a sort of battle damage. So far, no one has confirmed publicly which–if either–of these ideas is correct, or indicated a successful in-game replication; it is possible that whatever feature Capcom is teasing here may not even be part of the latest patch, and instead bound for a future update. We’ll be keeping an eye out for the answer! Source: shoryuken

Ready to make 6,600 Fight Money for just a few minutes of work? Here are Street Fighter 5's newest missions and how to complete them Capcom has rolled out their next batch of Street Fighter 5 missions, and you can score a cool fistful of Fight Money by playing through them. You have six days to complete three of these missions, (one of them has just a two day expiration period) but you can breeze through them in a matter of about 10 minutes if you want. Three of these are straightforward, but Come one, Come all is a bit of a mystery. We've detailed how to unlock this 5,000 FM bonus, as well as the best approach to nab all four challenges as quickly as possible below. The Come One, Come All mission simply requires that you put your opponent through the breakable wall in the Bustling Side Street stage, and can be done in Versus Mode. The easiest way to do this is to utilize the new player vs. CPU feature. Enter Versus, set your opponent as a level one computer and put them through the left wall and into the Chinese restaurant. Repeat the process in round two to score a noodle knock out and that's it. After finishing this match you'll receive 5,000 FM, which is equivalent to winning 100 matches online. To get the other missions done as fast as possible, you can from here jump into Training Mode. You'll get 500 FM the moment you start, and can then jump back to the Main Menu and into a Casual Match to complete the final two missions. Playing a Casual Match gets you another 1,000 FM, and if you throw your foe ten times during the fight you'll get the final 100 FM. The throw mission cannot be completed in Training Mode or in Versus from what we've seen. Follow these steps and you'll find yourself 6,600 FM richer in just a few minutes. Source: eventhubs

■Regarding Ver.1.09 of the PC version of Street Fighter V and the deletion tool (Updated on 9/30/2016 6:00PM PDT)
As previously noted, we have discovered that the ‘Capcom.sys’ file included in the title update Ver. 1.09 of the PC version of Street Fighter V contains some security risks. We are now releasing a tool to delete the files with security issues at the following time.
9/30/2016 6:00PM (PDT)
<Which users are affected by this issue> Users who have downloaded the title update Ver.1.09 on 9/22, but have not applied the additional patch that became available on 9/23, as well as users who had not restarted their PC after applying the additional patch. After restarting your PC, the Capcom.sys file becomes invalid, and will not affect your systems. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please restart your PC.
After you have restarted your PC, please run the check/deletion tool listed below. This deletion tool will allow you to easily remove the Capcom.sys file, as well as search for any registry entries that are tied to the file, and delete them if discovered.
<How to use the deletion tool> Close the Street Fighter V application.
Please keep the Steam client open. The Street Fighter V game update will begin automatically. Once the update is complete, you will notice 2 batch files have been added to the folder path below. (Please note that the location of the batch files may vary, depending on the users settings)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\Tools →DeleteSFVdriver_ja.bat →DeleteSFVdriver_en.bat
Right click on DeleteSFVdriver_en.bat, and select “Run as administrator." If you double click on the tool to run it, the tool will not run. DeleteSFVdriver_ja.bat is the same tool with Japanese instructions.
Follow the instruction prompts.
The tool will prompt you to restart your PC. Please restart your PC.
Once your PC has restarted, right click on the DeleteSFVdrive_en.bat and select “Run as administrator”.
Once the message “Capcom.sys or related registry doesn’t exist. End the program.” is displayed, the files have been deleted.
■ The reason for distributing as a bat file, and executing the file We have decided to distribute the deletion tool as a bat file, so that users can see the source code and be assured that this file does not contain any harmful data. This also means that it would be very easy to manipulate the code to be used for malicious purposes. We ask that all users obtain and execute this file that they obtained through the Steam client. Obtaining this file through other sources can put you at risk of opening up your system to additional security risks. We ask that you do not download and execute files obtained by unknown sources.
We would like to again apologize for the inconvenience, and regret such situation has happened. Thank you for your continued support of Street Fighter V.

Necalli's Capcom Pro Tour costume is one of our favorites in Street Fighter 5: Here are all of its awesome colors and V-Trigger transformations It was designed by last year's Capcom Cup winner, and even though GGP|Kazunoko wound up switching to Cammy, his costume design for Necalli ended up being one of the game's best alternate outfits. While we were hoping developers might continue the boy band trend that we saw with KeN'sync and the upcoming Backstreet Boy Ryu, Necalli's samurai armor suits the feral warrior well. Designers only lengthened Necalli's already comically large hair, but we can't be mad given how cool the V-Trigger transformations look. The SF5 Pro Tour content, (including the Ring of Destiny stage, Cammy, Chun-Li and Necalli alternate costumes and special Capcom color for each of the 22 fighters) is only going to be available until the end of November, so you'll want to keep that in mind if you're on the fence at all. The reason behind this is because a portion of all purchases goes toward the Capcom Cup pot, and the team will need time to come to a final sum. Source: eventhubs

Necalli sheds his robe, Karin ditches her hat and Laura misplaces her top; more costume Easter eggs found in Street Fighter 5 It's fairly common knowledge now that you can unlock the old school Urien outfit in Street Fighter 5 by holding light punch, medium kick and heavy punch as the screen turns white after character select, but a recent discovery reveals that a handful of other characters have similar Easter eggs with certain costumes. The three Capcom Pro Tour costumes, (featuring Necalli, Cammy and Chun-Li) can all be altered by holding all three punches, light kick and up during the loading transition. Similarly, the swimsuit costumes for Laura, Chun-Li, Karin, R. Mika and Ibuki can also be changed in this same manner. It seems the running theme here is less clothing, as each character loses at least an article when this code is inputted. Karin, for instance, loses her beach hat, while Laura misplaces her jersey. We nabbed three shots of each character in their reduced wardrobes. We also included one standard version of each character's costume so that you can more easily see the change. In doing a bit of research we found that you do not need to start holding the appropriate buttons until after you hear the "swoosh" when the screen turns white after character select. If you're on the second player side, you'll need to continue holding until your character's intro animation begins. Source: eventhubs

Halloween costumes and stage coming to Street Fighter 5; October to bring spooky new update Street Fighter 5 is getting a new update this month. In honor of Halloween, we will be seeing seven new costumes and a spooky version of the Underground Arena stage. This new content will go on sale October 11th, and be sure to pick it up quickly because it will only be available until November 29th. Each Premium Halloween costume can be purchased for $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29 and the Halloween stage is priced at $1.99 / €1.99 / £1.29 or 40K Fight Money. As a reminder, any premium costumes purchased will come along with colors 1-10 at no extra cost. Capcom will be at New York Comic Con this week, and attendees will be given the opportunity to try out the new Halloween content before it is officially released. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Could Necro's appearance in Street Fighter 5's newest stage be a hint at future DLC? It isn't the first we've seen of him in this game Capcom dropped a pretty exciting announcement earlier today when they revealed that Street Fighter 5 is getting a spooky October update, complete with new character costumes and an alternate, Halloween-themed version of the Underground Arena. After soaking in the exciting new content, we quickly noticed a certain someone lurking in the background wearing a witch's hat. Upon closer inspection we see that it is indeed Street Fighter 3 character Necro, alongside his girlfriend Effie: Our minds went straight to the potential of seeing this Russian mutant on the playable roster, especially since this isn't the first time the game has referenced him. We already knew his girlfriend, Effie, had an avatar written into the game, but to see Necro himself pop up really gets the wheels turning. While it makes thematic sense to have Necro, (whose name means "death" in Greek) pop up in the Russian stage around Halloween time, we can't help but compare this to having Alex appear in the background of the New York stage, and shortly thereafter join the cast as a playable character. Though he seems to be Capcom's reference to Dhalsim for Street Fighter 3, Necro is absolutely his own character. He'd fit the bill quite nicely when it comes to the varying and unique fight styles Street Fighter 5 aims to promote. This actually isn't the first time we've seen reference to Necro in this game. Though he hasn't physically appeared, the SF3 fighter pops up in Rashid's prologue story. Before he was given the name Necro by Gill, his original name was Ilya. One of Rashid's text messages is from "FreedomTraveler_Ilya", and has a Necro/Effie icon next to it: Source: eventhubs

6,100 Fight Money for your troubles: Another batch of Street Fighter 5 Daily Challenges is live, here's how to complete them all Street Fighter 5 has been struck with a new set of Daily Challenges. Complete these tasks, and you will be awarded with an extra 6,100 Fight Money to spend on DLC characters, costumes, colors, and more. To start off, here is the list of the latest Street Fighter 5 challenges. The fastest and easiest challenge to complete this time around is "Join a Battle Lounge!" Though the description says to create or join a lobby, all you need to do is fire up the "Battle Lounge" option. You will be rewarded with 500 FM on the spot. Each set has had a bit of a cryptic challenge for players to figure out. This time, we have "Shibasaki's First Request." In order to complete this challenge, you'll have to fight through the second chapter of Dhalsim's character specific story. Once you defeat R. Mika, you'll earn the 5,000 FM. Thanks for the heads up, alb3530. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/oct/07/completing-shibasakis-first-request/The remaining two missions are self explanatory. For Survival Mode, you can select any character and difficulty level. Once your first match begins, you'll be awarded the 500 FM. And lastly, you must perform 10 combos in order to score your last 100 FM. This can only be done in Ranked, Casual, or Battle Lounge matches, however, so don't expect to pull this off in Training Mode. Source: eventhubs

Possible Arcade Mode for Street Fighter 5 and future Daily Challenges discovered in latest patch While exploring Street Fighter 5 files included in the latest game patch, X-Kira stumbled upon what looks to be signs of an Arcade Mode. At this point we can only see reference from a menu, but seeing as this mode has been a staple of Street Fighter games since the franchise's start (along with the fact that many fans have expressed a very real want for such a mode in SF5) we wouldn't be surprised to see it come to fruition in the future. X-Kira also discovered what look like quite a few prepped Daily Challenges: Source: eventhubs

Even more Street Fighter 5 Daily Challenges discovered, X-Kira shows the full list of missions found in the latest patch We saw a handful of newly discovered Daily Challenges found in the files of Street Fighter 5's latest patch. Thanks to X-Kira, we were able to get a glimpse at what the future holds for the game's missions. Today, we have a full video showing off all of the new challenges found in the current files. As of right now, the duration, Fight Money reward, and number of repetitions for the missions that require it aren't set since these challenges haven't officially gone live yet. However, we still get to see what kind of tasks we'll be prompted with when they eventually become available. We see that there are quite a few character-specific missions coming up, such as performing certain moves X amount of times with different characters, as well as challenges tied to system mechanics, like land Crush Counters on your opponent. Street Fighter 5's newest missions net you 6,800 Fight Money: Here's how to complete 'Safety Measures' and the rest of the latest challenges A fresh batch of Street Fighter 5 missions has gone live. This week, we've got another set of four objectives to complete, and doing so will grant you an extra 6,800 Fight Money for your troubles. As we have seen previously, three out of the four challenges are self explanatory and straight forward. The "Safety Measures" mission is a bit more cryptic and requires some thinking to complete. But if you find yourself stumped, don't fret. Here's how it's done. Thanks to EventHubs user samuel141 pointing us in the right direction, we were able to figure out what stipulations need to be met to score Safety Measures' 5,000 Fight Money. On the left side of the Bustling Side Street stage, there is a large, breakable neon sign. The sign has five sections to it, and in order to complete this challenge, you'll need to destroy the whole thing. Using jump attacks can work, but I found that knocking your opponent down actually affects all five segments simultaneously. So, if you want to make sure that you're breaking it completely, just keep sweeping your opponent. It should be noted that this mission cannot be completed in Training Mode. Once the sign is destroyed, just finish the match and you should have your reward. www.eventhubs.com/images/2016/oct/14/completing-safety-measures-mission/The Rival Search mission is probably the fastest of the bunch, but it isn't quite as easy as last week's Battle Lounge challenge that simply required you boot up the in-game mode. For this one, you'll have to go as far as actually searching the name of a player in order to get the 500 FM. For the 10 counters mission, you'll need to score counter hits in ranked, casual, or battle lounge, and you can kill two birds with one stone by finding that ranked match through Fight Request. These two challenges together will give you a quick 1,300 Fight Money. Source: eventhubs

Street Fighter 5 PC Arcade
An announcement was made at Toushinsai today, after the tournament festivities was over.
Toushinsai is an arcade-only event, and as such had tournaments in Ultra Street Fighter 4 and King of Fighters 13, which naturally felt a bit out of place since both series have just had new games released this year. Thankfully, both series' developers (SF & KOF) were at hand to announce that come next year, they can play the newest version, since both of the games are coming to arcades.
While Street Fighter 5 won't quite be getting an arcade version in the traditional sense, but instead will have PC stations placed in arcades that allow arcade players to battle eachother through the PC version of Street Fighter 5.
Considering the impact the arcade community has on Japan's players, this is definitely good news all around for both the King of Fighters and Street Fighter communities.

Whoops! Looks like there's a typo in the background of Balrog's Street Fighter 5 stage You can't get anything past the players, it seems. One eagle-eyed Street Fighter 5 fan by the name of ZentraediAce92 recently pointed out to us that there is a typo on one of the signs found in Balrog's stage. Found on the far right side of the stage, we see that one of the signs aims to advertise "gambling," however, it isn't spelled quite right. You can see the typo in the images below. Typos in a game are pretty innocuous, and this isn't the first time we've seen it happen. Still, if you're fighting in front of the Golden Bullion, be sure to keep an eye out for that sign. Wish you made a video about SF5 like you did with overwatch. Yea I was strongly considering doing just that. In my different business ideas I was looking into podcasting. It would take a lot of marketing and word of mouth to get it off. I might have to do one before the year ends. In terms of the video. I saw it. It was longer than I expected (I was looking on my phone and it said under 5 minutes, my horror when I clicked and saw it was almost twenty). He made some solid points, but there were also some things I disagree with. 1. SFV is absolutely too offense based for sure. Too much reward for derp and not enough variety in playstyle. However he seems to champion the dumb defense that SF4 had. SF5 is too offensive in a dumb way and SF4 was too defensive. Crouch tech, fadc DP, invincible backdash, ultras, etc were too many concessions to passive and losing players. That's not the type of defense that was healthy, we should encourage smart play to counter the dumb play you see now. Much of the game is based on abusing things that are hard to react to in the effort to get in. 2. Karin is a strong character, and the defensive options aren't necessarily the problem. People complain about diversity and then want to give everyone a 3f jab and meterless dp and the game already rewards jab mashing enough. Guile and Birdie for instance have great defense. Nash has great defense despite lacking those two attributes. The real problem is Ryu, Ken, and Necalli have too many options and damage while keeping above average health and stun, and Chun Li just has everything. We don't need characters that are super good at keep away like Birdie being almost impossible to open up when you're in on him as well. Just buff the characters in interesting ways and then tone down Ryu, Ken, Necalli and Chun. Ryu has no need to spend meter other than tho make his stupid damage output even more obnoxious. 3. Whiff punishing and things like that are definitely an issue that need to be fixed with the lag reduction and normals having hurtboxes and recovery time that allow whiff punishing. Chun Li's st hp is the worst case of this. You can literally mash it out and dominate mid range and it's almost impossible to whiff punish. If you try to jump she just uses her ridiculous st lk which is insane. You can't engage her on the ground or the air and her pressure is top notch too. Insanity. 4.More execution for the damage is nice (or some variety) but 1f links were a stupid and arbitrary way of doing it. Combos alone didn't mean you were a master of other skills but high execution is a skill that should be rewarded without it being too dumb. The real problem is beating an opponent the entire round only for them to derp a couple of times and get a win due to the high guessing style of the offense.
