I have been seeing this world thrown around a lot lately. It seems to be the latest PC/liberal/ SWPL word. Seems kind of odd to use, and why are people even using it as an insult?
Basically it means you identify with the gender you were born with: i.e a man recognizing himself as a man.
Why does this need to be said? Is it something used to not offend others? What do you think of it?

I have heard this term used from time to time. I guess it just boils down to people's desire to put a label on everything. It was used in that confrontation at the tournament I posted a few weeks ago. Americans definitely love labeling. I don't see the point of labeling people who recognize themselves as they were born any more than I see the need for people to be labeled for recognizing that they're human. I guess it's to make it look "uncool" if you're on of them or to avoid transgenders. |

I don't really see the need to label peoples preferences. For a dating site, then yes.
I don't really have time to worry about if someone is gay, straight or bi. I generally get along with everyone.

Agreed. Although there seems to be something slightly more sinister behind it. Much of this PC stuff seems to be about restricting speech and thought to whatever some other group wants us to say and think. It's been influencing society and culture in the west gradually which is what bothers me. We've become more and more about avoiding the truth and straight forward truths and covering them with something else. People can do what they want personally, but I don't want to be told what to think about things. |

This is why we had these freedoms. We've lost our financial freedom, and next we'll lose our freedoms of speech and everything else along with it. Do you think it's too late? Not yet for me to leave, but it's too late for our country having freedom. I don't know how long it will take to fully dissolve though. |
