In your opinion, because I know alot of us are dissatisfied with the direction gaming has gone. So, what do you think needs to change? Gaming has increased in the visuals, but in terms of the gameplay it has faltered. One of the main reasons is that it makes it less and less about player input and more and more about the game doing things for you. I play the games to game not to watch the game play itself for me while I'm along for the ride.

Games seem to be built around story or voice acting and set pieces these days versus gameplay. Well yea the mainstream AAA titles do that because they want to sell a lot of copies. Smaller titles and some unique titles don't do that. Most of the stories aren't anything great and feel contrived. Games do need plot and I have no problem with a good story, but the game restricting my options or playing for me is bad. Look at Duke 3d vs Duke Forever. The story emphasis wasn't a problem, but the game being too linear and removing options of the past was the problem. Many games now are worse than the ones in the past and I don't believe it was because of story. Twisted Metal Black was better than PS3 by far, and the story was stronger. It just had far better gameplay that wasn't dumbed down by "auto hit" weapons.
