Funny to me because if they had controversy it would equal more sales. These people need to grow some balls.

Gotcha I was reading about the lack of subtitles and those being removed. I just caught the rating board part. If they're honest about that it's cool. I still have a problem with what the rating boards does because it's still censorship and it serves no real purpose nowadays except for parents who are too lazy to read up on what they buy. These groups have too much power.

These groups have too much power. The rating board isn't to blame but the shops and/or government. Many stores around the world will not take in a game that is rated AO, in Germany and Australia (it's different in Australia now, but some shops won't take 18 rated games, in the UK they take everything except unclassified which is basically a AO) they aren't allowed to even sell games that get a rating higher than 16 (higher than 16 then government won't let it in.), that's why so many German games have censored violence. The ratings boards are dumb and serve no purpose but to censor. The ratings are completely arbitrary and vary for no reason at all other then preference, social, or political pressure. Gaming companies need to use this group in order to sell their products an these companies can make or break games forcing developers to tone down content in order to sell their products in stores. They are the largest cause for censorship there is. That's why they suck. You see this company had to go against their own vision in order to stay below the rating. Ratings boards are stupid. The people who want this content will just download it somewhere else anyways. It serves no purpose. Parents can read online about what games have what content for their kids. Most parents don't care anyways seeing how GTA, Cod, God of War, and games of that nature sell so well amongst youth.

It's the shops or governments that won't allow AO games. Sure they are to blame. They assign the ratings. The government is definitely to blame. Censorship by force is the worst. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo don't carry them either because they don't want the negative press. It's all business. Ratings boards serve no purpose but censorship and they're highly corrupt. Just like the MPAA which gives movies R ratings that have far worse content than many of the movies they give an NC-17 rating (our highest rating), what do they base this off of? Why do they get to decide what's good for the rest of us? It's bs and it needs to go away.

Well they can certainly improve, I don't think the ratings should go away but they should probably change what dictates what age ratings. I also think they should be more of a guide rather than 12 and up or 16 and up or whatever. Why do we need the ratings though? There are plenty of websites that list all the content the game has without telling who it would be appropriate for. It's especially bad because two similar games can have different ratings. They exist to censor and nothing else. If you hate censorship, the ratings boards are the largest cause for censorship out of any group. That's why companies cut out so much content. www.movie-censorship.com/list.php?k=4Check that website out. It's full of games, movies, and comics that have been censored for various reasons. It's quite interesting to read.

Have you seen the different cuts for the controversial movies like Cannibal Holocaust and I Spit On Your Grave? Caligula is like an hour shorter lol.

Yea there's lots of stuff I wouldn't expect like Legend of Chun Li had a straight up R rated scene in it they completely removed with a bunch of decapitated people.
Cyborg with Van Damme had some to avoid an X rating, but the violence today would be an R rating.
