Sexy Costumes in Video Games.

We all love it when we unlock stuff in video games, secret missions, cheats, costumes but remember when there was that specific costume you could unlock? You know the sexy costume? What happened to all the sexy costumes?

If you're a Resident Evil fan you know about Resident Evil 4 and Ashley's costumes, you know about 5 and Tribal Sheva and you know about 6 and Schoolgirl Sherry. Video games used to always have sexy costumes to unlock when you beat the game, where the hell have they gone?

So what I want us all to do is to name as many games as possible that released (not re-released unless the re-release added sexy costumes) between 2010 and 2015 that had sexy unlockable costumes (sexy default costumes don't count and sexy costumes that replace the sexy default don't count so Bayonetta is a no no.)

Have you got any more to add? I want to try and build a comprehensive list so we can see if Sexy Alternates are actually disappearing.

Also keep in mind that unlockable content is getting rarer. Even censorship fighter 5 gave Chun Li's ass dress as a DLC incentive.

I'm not sure why they need to be unlockable though. A sexy costume is a sexy costume as far as I'm concerned.

Is your point that we have fewer or that they have to be unlocked differently? We didn't have special costumes in the past like that because of sprites in most cases although Samus is an exception.

I still see chicks looking attractive more than not, but you could argue certain games have gone down this path I wouldn't say it's an epidemic. Not that I'm advocating it.

I can just remember pretty much in the PS2 days and early 360 days it was common place for a female character to unlock sexy outfits. Now obviously some games don't want the sexy outfits because of tone reasons but there's some games that could have the sexy outfits and would've had them if the were released around 10 years earlier. Today sexy unlockables are disappearing and I just want to try and figure out how many games in the last 5 years actually had sexy unlocks.

I'm sure you know this but the reasons video game girls have gotten more attractive is because graphics have gotten better! Still doesn't change the fact that less and less sexy outfits are in games whether that's default outfits like Lara Croft now wearing a tank top and pants or not being able to unlock the bikini in Rise of the Tomb Raider by finding all the treasures.

I think that it has to do with less unlocking than anything.

Yea, the graphics definitely play a role. Samus for instance looks sexier more than ever. She is in the armor less and less lol.

If you include DLC in unlocking there isn't actually that much less. Resident Evil Zero comes with some sexy costumes, some were in the original some are new to the remaster. I firmly believe if Zero did not originally have sexy alternate costumes we would not be seeing the cheerleader or maid costume in the remaster.

I would love a Zero Suit Samus game... I don't trust Nintendo not to change her though... She should stay in Sakurai's games so she stays hot.

Dude have you seen how Jill looked in older resident Evil games compared to the newer ones? She's way hotter and her body is better, she has a lot of ass focus too.

Yeah Jill has been made hotter but in Resident Evil Remake you could unlock her "sexier" outfit it wasn't too revealing but it was defiantly a fanservice outfit. Ten Years later Revelations comes out and there's no sexy outfits outside of her default skintight wetsuit (which was pretty hot) then a year alter they released Revelations in HD with a sexy pirate outfit as DLC. If Jill is in Resident Evil 7 I want the sexy outfits! If you look at Revelations 2, they had sexy DLC and the Classic Claire outfit but that was before Capcom went censor happy so, Resident Evil contrinuing the sexy outfit unlocks/DLC is something that might not happen. However as you've said many times Capcom is keeping sexy outfits in SFV and is relying on the Chun Li and Cammy DLC to sell preorders, so it's up in the air, anything could happen.

To be honest the unlockable sexy costumes are something certain companies have done and that's more common with 3d rendering when you didn't have pixels. Maybe these games in particular are largely doing it. Back in the old days with say Tomb Raider, she was sexy from the get go. No need to unlock anything else.

You've been able to unlock sexy costumes since at least Legend. It stopped with the reboot.

Not every game will have sexy unlockables and nor should they, it's just dawned on me that they've been disappearing and there's no good reason for them to disappear.

So you think it's a conspiracy of sorts? I guess it depends on what you call sexy. Some might see it as fetish wear.
