Every character has fanboys. More mainstream characters have more of them. Wolverine was going crazy for a while but he's died down a bit.

Spider-Man isn't generally that bad. People often give him the loss against MA's like Capt. and DD, which is no longer valid as he is now an MA himself.

Spiderman fan's have very good reason to be cocky,The guy had the privilage of meeting the Highest power in MU and the one above all likes Him.Spiderman is a great character to be fair,he has some of the best villains to fight,and has some notable wins under his belt,Hulk and juggernaut are on that list.

Spider-Man is great and is popular because he's never *too* powerful. Powerful, but also has real issues he deals with. He has some fanboys, but I've never seen them go as far as Wolverine, Superman, or Batman. Hulk has had some severe ones but they aren't high in volume.
