Final Day at EVO: Starting My day I couldn't pass due to My snack & drink (which the drink I got yesterday) I bring with Me, so what I wind up doing is eat the chips which there wasn't much, and wind up chugging the full bottle of rootbeer because I wanted to get in there in time to start EVO Finals.
There were some pretty exciting matches mainly MKXL & SSBM I've mainly see parts of it since I head to the bathroom so I haven't seen everything, even at some point wrote notes when I was seeing exciting stuff in MKX, while UMVC3 (which had some hype & funny moments I wasn't as excited compare to everyone) & Guilty Gear didn't wind up writing much and even lost My pen so the only thing I'm going to have left to show My personal excitement or funny moments is My memory which isn't the best. When UMVC3 was starting I gotten a call from My mother wondering about a message I sent to her for some reason and I was thinking of the time when I was in traffic in the elevator. When I check My phone apparently I sent it despite not texting her about food for no reason especially there are places to eat at the convention center, My mother told Me it could be the next works messing up bit which My mother wound up getting a message from someone that isn't Me. It was funny when people were chatting & cheering for an old TV especially when Melee was coming up.
I saw plenty of stuff before I came home because of time reasons starting from KOF seeing the first Boss character in gameplay & saw the intro of the Final Boss, Guilty Gear Xrd adding Dizzy tomorrow & got a preview of digital character model which was nothing but a black screen, Harada announcing new characters from Bob & new character Master Raven along with Ono announcing release date for Juri & announcement of EVO Japan.
The only upsetting thing was I couldn't be able to talk to Ono especially he is in an area where only VIP people can get on the floor, along with My stepdad picking Me up so I had couldn't talk to him. I was really fustrated & depress especially wishing to express My criticism on the changes of the risque camera shots, I could've make an effect in SFV history to add a risque option just to be completely denied so hard of any chance. What I wind up doing is walking to the lobby for My stepdad to get Me, but it turns out he was at the EVO entrance meaning I had to walk all the way there, and even worse had to walk a marathon just to ride the monorail.
So in conclusion I had a blast in EVO and at the Casino which I'll be going home with $100 (which for last day spend $21 on the first Chinese theme part of My lunch money & what I won last night), My only major disappointment was not being able to get a contact like an email from Ono or at least SF members that could give Ono the message, something SFV could've really benefit for people that prefer risque shots & people that hate them. I will be signing out because I to be up extremely early to fly back home, this is the end of My EVO experience.
PS. Once I return home I'll be planning on displaying clips to show off My personal moments, I might wind up just display time markets (which I will do regardless) or might want to add some opinions I'll figure things out when I return home.

@sep. 6 2016 Evo Japan, LLC Now a Registered Legal Entity in Japan, Has Huge Media Conglomerate Backing
Before the Top 8 of Street Fighter V at Evolution 2016, we were treated with the announcement of Evolution Japan. 4Gamer, a Japanese gaming publication, released information–translated by Ryan “Fubarduck” Harvey–that Evo Japan, LLC, has been registered as an official legal entity in Japan as of late September. It is a joint venture of SRKX Productions–our parent company and operator of Evolution Championship Series–and three Japanese companies who have split a $1,000,000 stake into the company: Hearts United Group (a subsidiary of Aetas, owners of 4Gamer), Shochiku Broadcasting, and Aetas. With Hearts United Group owning a 45% stake of the company, and Aetas owning an additional 10%, this makes Aetas majority owner of Evo Japan, LLC.
While this may mean little on the front end of the operation to the competitor planning to travel to the land of the rising sun for the event, what it does mean is that Japanese conglomerates are putting stock in Evolution Championship Series, and are willing to take a chance on striking gold with the tournament’s Japanese presence.
After news broke from 4Gamer, Mark “MarkMan” Julio took to Twitter to announce this was not the only information we should expect, and that he believed that Evo Japan is “the future of gaming.”
@sep. 14 2016 The First-Ever Evo Japan Has Been Scheduled for January 2018
Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar has just shared even further news on Twitter regarding Evo Japan, which now has a rough date scheduled.
One slide from the Tokyo Game Show gives the most prestigious fighting game tournament’s debut in Asia a tentative January 2018 launch.
While no exact date has been penciled in, we at least know when to reserve our flights, roughly. Be ready for January 2018, folks!
@sep. 15 2016 Evo Now Under New Parent Company, Expect Big News January 2017
Amidst the Evo Japan news being revealed at the Tokyo Game Show over the past few days, one important aspect of Evo’s future has come to light: going forward, Evo will be operating under a new parent corporation called Triple Perfect Inc. instead of SRKX Productions.
Joey Cuellar and Mark Julio are presently discussing and promoting Evo Japan at the Tokyo Game Show, and the target date of January 2018 has been announced for the first-ever event. A pre-Evo Japan event is planned for sometime in 2017, with details still to be announced in the future as they are finalized. As for Evo Japan itself, the plan is to bring the successful Evo formula from Las Vegas across to Japan–while noting that the Japanese FGC in particular will open up opportunities to feature games that are more popular in Japan as opposed to North America, such as the Virtua Fighter series–but attendees can expect similar vendors and BYOC areas, in addition to possible new novice training/play areas, and new cosplay events.
Mr. Wizard has also teased a big Evo secret that nobody knows yet, to be revealed in January when more Evolution 2017 information is released. It is also the hope to have Evo Japan’s final dates locked down by that time. As Evo continues to expand and engage the fighting game community in North America and Japan, the future of the event–on both sides of the Pacific–looks bright!

EVO Poll Pits Mortal Kombat XL against Injustice 2: Hints that only One will be Selected
EVO, the world’s largest fighting game tournament in the world, is scheduled to make their selection of games on January 24th. The competition for spots can get heated with new and old titles filling the 8ish spots. NetherRealm Studios scored their first EVO spot with Mortal Kombat 9 in 2011 and found similar success with the sequel and Injustice: Gods Among Us.
However, NRS has had difficulty having lasting games with the worldwide tournament’s history. Capcom, Microsoft, and Nintendo have all had spots taken year after year by their fighting game franchises whereas the MK and Injustice series sees high turnover with each new iteration. However, MKXL has been heavily supported since the 2015 release with the last major update released back in October; This meant that the game had a better chance of making it into the EVO 2017 selections.
But the head of the Vegas bound tournament, Joey Cuellar, sent out a post polling his followers based on NRS’ fighters. The tweet asked if people would prefer Injustice 2 or MKXL for the next EVO. The Super Heroes won out in this case with 59% of the vote of over 2700 clicks. With the recent announcement that Injustice 2 will be coming out on May 16th, it’s more likely that the brand new game will make the cut.

Evo 2017: Mr. Wizard Talks to SRK about the Games That Made It, the Games That Didn’t, and Why
Mr. Wizard elaborates on the games that made the cut, and some that haven’t–at least not yet.
With Evo 2017’s main games revealed–all but the final game that is, to be yet determined by vote–the stage is set for an epic battle at the (air-conditioned, presumably) Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas’ searing July heat. I asked Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar some questions about the upcoming event–particularly regarding what titles made it to the main stage this year, and why.
Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra: Was the decision to stay at Mandalay Bay–and consolidate the event there, rather than two separate venues again–made pretty much immediately after that spectacular arena Finals showing last year? Or were there other possible locations considered?
Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar: It was an immediate win for us to consolidate everything into Mandalay Bay in 2017. Ideally we would have used just one venue last year, but we weren’t able to book a space large enough for all our players. So last year was a bit of a scramble, but this year we think we’re incredibly happy with our space at Mandalay Bay.
mushin_Z: Street Fighter V topped a massive 5100 entrants in 2016. Are you confident SFV can break that record in 2017?
Mr. Wizard: Records are meant to be broken, so anything is possible! We have a lot of space this year, so accommodating tournaments that break records should be doable.
mushin_Z: Smash fans are likely thrilled, but not everyone is, surely–what justifies the inclusion of both Smash 4 and Melee once again?
Mr. Wizard: Having the 2nd and 3rd most entrants last year, with a very diverse cross-section of Smash players, says a lot. These are two dedicated communities and we see the value in bringing them both back. Smash is in fact a fighting game, and they deserve to be represented at Evo.
mushin_Z: Air-dashers might be surprised that both Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and BlazBlue: Central Fiction made it to the main stage this time, more likely expecting one to edge out the other. What made you decide to let them share the spotlight? Did the upcoming release of GG Xrd REV 2 make a big difference?
Mr. Wizard: We were all set to let BlazBlue have the spotlight this year, but then that surprise curveball of REV 2 getting announced a few days ago changes things up. We wanted to make sure that we could include both games this year, as we recognize that they have different communities for those games. Evo 2014’s BlazBlue Finals were epic, so we’re looking forward to seeing what players can do this year!
mushin_Z: Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 (especially) are releasing on console pretty close to the event date; do you think publishers are taking Evo strongly into account for their release schedules? Is Evo becoming the “Oscars” of fighting games?
Mr. Wizard: If they are, it’s an honor for them to do so. We don’t dictate release dates, but them reworking their schedule around ours is crazy! We are just a celebration of fighting games, so we want to give the big stage to as many awesome fighting games that are out there.
mushin_Z: Pokkén Tournament debuted last year, and is now out of the lineup–was it a hard game to cut? How strongly was it considered? And were Killer Instinct or Mortal Kombat X even in the running this year?
Mr. Wizard: Every fighting game is in the running and is considered every year. One of the key elements that we look at is if people are still playing it, and how often. Evo can only do so many tournaments every year, so that’s why we included all those titles in the vote so that we can make sure everyone has a shot at the final game.
mushin_Z: Why make a return to 2013’s voting model to choose game #9?
Mr. Wizard: Giving back is one of the core values of Evo that we try to always do. We thought with so many games this year and a finite amount of time and space, we thought we would leave it up the community. The Evo 2013 vote was wildly successful, and we hope to recreate that magic again this year.
mushin_Z: Considering the Marvel hype from upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s reissue, do you think it’s the lead contender to be voted back into the #9 spot?
Mr. Wizard: We think it has an excellent shot at claiming the top spot. There are however 8 other games that could easily make it in. If you have ever thought about getting involved, now is the time! Lets raise money for kids with Make-a-Wish International.
mushin_Z: What game do you personally wish could’ve been included, but didn’t make the cut?
Mr. Wizard: Personally I would love to see ClayFighter make a return, but there is only so much I can do!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 officially joins the EVO 2017 line up, registration opens today at 2 p.m. The Make-A-Wish Foundation charity drive to decide which game would be added to the official EVO 2017 line up concluded last week with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as the top earner. The community raised over $70,000 to secure the 9th game spot at the event this year. EVO tournament organizer Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar took to Twitter earlier this week to announce that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has officially been added to the event's line up. Registration opens up at 2 p.m. PST / 5 p.m. EST today. If you're looking to join in on the action this July, you can sign up for the tournament over on Smash.gg. smash.gg/tournament/evo-2017/registerMr. Wizard noted on Twitter that this year's Marvel tournament will be ran using the recent PlayStation 4 release of the game. This differs from the traditional Xbox 360 version of the fighter that many top players feel is the optimal choice. Source: eventhubs

Evo Japan: dates and location officially announced for 2018, including [sài] lead-up event in 2017 The world’s largest fighting game tournament comes to Tokyo on January 26-28, 2018! Hot news from the Evo Japan Executive Committee: they are proud to announce that the first Evolution Championship Series: Japan will be held on January 26-28, 2018. The location: Akihabara UDX, mere minutes away from Akihabara Station in Tokyo, Japan. The Evo Japan concept was originally revealed during Evo 2016’s finals at the Mandalay Bay Event Center, and last September–during the Tokyo Game Show–we learned that January 2018 was the intended target, now confirmed. Additionally, a new tournament that leads up to Evo Japan will take place in 2017, in collaboration with the staff and community of TOPANGA and GODSGARDEN, in order to “unite gaming communities and celebrate the fighting spirit in Japan.” This event is called “[sài]” and will be organized using the Evolution Championship Series formula, using the double-elimination format. This event will be an open tournament, allowing anyone to register and compete. There will be no preferential treatment or seeding based on skill level for the tournament bracket placement. [sài] will take place May 20-21, 2017, also at Akihabara UDX, and is free to enter. There will be three main events: Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, and one other game, yet to be determined. More information will be announced soon on the Evo Japan website. Message from Noriyuki Kaneko, the chairman of Evo Japan Secretariat Fighting games have been around for over 30 years, stemming from a single genre within the arcade gaming industry it has evolved and transcended the world of gaming. In recent years the fighting game communities based out of North America have expanded the genre and player base, most notably through Evo and has had great success in hosting the world’s largest open gaming tournament – for all games. I am honored to be part of an Evo event in Japan, the birthplace of the fighting game, not only as part of the staff but also as a fighting game fan & player. Although it is known that Evo is the world’s biggest open gaming tournament, it’s more than just that. In my experience, Evo is also the best event for the separate fighting game communities. Evo Japan will work to unite these many communities and fighting gamers from all over the world as well. We welcome everyone that has their own specific goals, ideas and purposes and hope to enjoy fighting games together. We look forward to seeing you at Evo Japan 2018, let’s have a great time together! Evo Japan: No Street Fighter V at [sài] lead-up event; Evo Japan’s lineup to be announced at Evo 2017
Expect to learn what we’ll be playing at Evo Japan at this summer’s event in Las Vegas.
We have just recently learned that Evo Japan will take place at Akihabara UDX on January 26-28, 2018, and that an open-entry lead-up event called “[sài]” will take place at the same venue on May 20-21, 2017; while [sài] will feature three titles for competition, only Tekken 7: Fated Retribution and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 were confirmed so far. Street Fighter V seemed like a strong bet for the third slot, but Evo Japan Chairman Kaneko “hameko” Noriyuki revealed on Twitter tonight that [sài] will not feature Street Fighter V as the third game.
However, hameko also revealed that we can expect to hear about the game lineup for 2018’s Evo Japan itself at Evo 2017 in Las Vegas (July 14-17, 2017)!

Street Fighter V & Super Smash Bros. currently lead the registration turnout for Evolution 2017 Meanwhile, The King of Fighters XIV currently has the lowest number of registered players. As we get closer and closer to Evo 2017, the present “leaderboard” for event registration has been shared–and for the most part the results are what one would expect: generally consistent with 2016’s closing numbers, and reflective of each game’s overall popularity: 1. Street Fighter V 2. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 3. Super Smash Bros. Melee 4. Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 5. Tekken 7 6. Injustice 2 7. BlazBlue: Central Fiction 8. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 9. The King of Fighters XIV Street Fighter V already has a substantial lead, with the two Smash titles finishing the top three, for now. Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 is currently in the 4th spot–but Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 are possible contenders to overtake it as they get into the hands of the gaming public! The Player’s Choice winner Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is presently only in 8th place for its Evo swan song; and newcomer The King of Fighters XIV could use some more love, sitting back in last place. Of course, we’ve still got about two months for this list to get shaken up a bit with new sign-ups. Registration is still open for Evo 2017 through smash.gg–and you can join additional games after your initial registration too, so get in there and support your favorite titles! evo.shoryuken.com/registrationopenssoon/Evo 2017 takes place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 14-16, 2017. A Pokkén Tournament side event is coming to Evo 2017, via Pokkén Arena & AnimEVO Pokkén Tournament returns to Evo (unofficially)! Looks like Pokkén Tournament has made it to Evo 2017 after all–as a side tournament, hosted through a partnership between Pokkén Arena and AnimEVO. The event will take place in Evo’s BYOC area, and entry is $5.00 USD–cash only, paid on-site. You naturally will need a pass to Evo 2017 itself to participate in this event–or any of the side tournaments that may be held. Keep an eye on the smash.gg page for more info on this event. It will be streamed on Twitch via KernCountyEsports. www.pokkenarena.com/smash.gg/tournament/pokken-tournament-at-evoThe Pokkén Tournament community has been quite active in supporting the game that they love, fighting to keep interest alive while we wait to hear if Nintendo will finally patch the Wii U game to match the arcade version, or maybe announce a complete port for Nintendo Switch. xhttps://www.twitch.tv/kerncountyesports -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evo 2017 flash sale: 20% off tickets for the World Finals on Sunday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Get tickets to the arena finals on Sunday for a discounted price! EVO17 is here and here are the schedules Here are extra info: Tekken 7 exceeds 1000 registered competitors for Evo 2017 Originally revealed by Mark “MarkMan” Julio on Facebook, registration for Tekken 7 at Evo 2017 has risen to more than 1000 players! This is nearly double 2016’s total of 543, demonstrating that Tekken 7 has definitely made a strong impact on the FGC — especially now that it’s available on PlayStation 4/Xbox One/PC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aksys Games to support BlazBlue and Guilty Gear at Evo 2017 with new merchandise & pot bonuses Aksys Games — in conjunction with Arc System Works — is proud to announce their partnership with Evo 2017 to support their featured air-dashing titles, BlazBlue: Central Fiction and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2! Their booth at the event will offer everything from previews, playables, free swag, signings, and more! To commemorate the appearance of both BlazBlue: Central Fiction and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 as main tournaments at Evo 2017, Aksys Games and Arc System works are providing additional prize support: both titles will each receive a $10,000 pot bonus. Showing your proof of entry into the BlazBlue or Guilty Gear tournaments at the Aksys booth will get you a commemorative bag (limit one per person!), and new merchandise made specifically for Evo will also be stocked at the booth. Additionally, Arc System Works developers Daisuke Ishiwatari and Toshimichi Mori will both be in attendance for exclusive signing sessions. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon. Aksys Games and Arc System Works will be livestreaming from their booth via Nico Nico Douga (Japanese) or Twitch (English). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The King of Fighters XIV at Evo 2017 gets a $14,000 pot bonus from SNK & Atlus The King of Fighters XIV was already going to be a fierce struggle between master-class competitors at Evo 2017, and now the payoff for victory will be even sweeter: SNK & Atlus have thrown in a $14,000 pot bonus to the event! shoryuken.com/2017/07/04/evolution-2017-preview-snks-flagship-franchise-returns-with-the-king-of-fighters-xiv/Source: shoryuken

This final will provide no shortage of compelling competition, and we look forward to delivering this event to fans.” Last year, we saw nearly 2 million people tune in to ESPN2's EVO broadcast. Balrog is just the dumbest character in the game and I don't know why TAP is plus and invinicible on block while doing huge damage. It's like a free super!
Smug got bodied by a Chinese Ryu player though. SFV needs to take the dumb stuff out the game.

Super Smash Bros. and Street Fighter 5 EVO 2017 finals to air live on Disney XD
EVO Sunday just got even more hype. It has been announced that both the Super Smash Bros. Wii U and Street Fighter 5 finals will be broadcast live on Disney XD tonight.
According to Zap2it's TV listings for the channel, Smash Bros. is set to air at 3 p.m. PDT / 6 p.m. EDT tonight, while Street Fighter 5 will kick off at 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT.
A quick TV spot for Smash Bros. was uploaded to the D|XP Twitter account (which was retweeted by the official Disney XD page). Looking at the Disney XD schedule, we also see that Street Fighter 5 will be rebroadcast the following Monday morning.
This is the first time we'll be seeing EVO aired on Disney XD, however, not the first time competitive fighters have made it to TV. The Street Fighter 5 EVO finals return to ESPN2 this year after a successful run in 2016 where nearly 2 million viewers tuned in.
