I was thinking about this issue in this thread here: thacmaster.proboards.com/thread/3066/overwatch-thread?page=2&scrollTo=56184I've been noticing this for years but these gaming communities have become awful and are often affecting the entire game with moronic people complaining about things and then getting catered to. What do you think caused the rise of this mindset? It wasn't prevalent in the past. Is it because the gaming scene is really casual overall. A quote I posted on the other thread as well: "so much bads in this thread that it's not even fun to read it. ppl having 0 playtime on champs making demands about nerfs and throwing "arguments", because we all know you can copy arguments from random internet site, no need to check them out. so, bunch of 0 playtime on WM bads are asking for nerf to the ground, and others, who play them, and said "hey, it's not that easy as you trying to show it, please try by yourself if you don't believe" are just massively downvoted and overruned by bads. bads overrun this forum and every normal discussion. we don't have topics "should xxx be changed?" anymore, instead now we have "nerf xxx because.". f*cking witch hunt.
blizz, you've made very, very, VERY good game and i'm love playing it, but this forum is piece of sh*t, and normal players should abandon it.
edit: oh, and i almost forgot. game is about hero countering, hero swaping, hero stacking, overtimes, etc. and what we're witnessing here? "nerf xxx because i don't know how to counter/swap", "disable hero stacking", "remove overtime". HAVEN'T YOU SEE WHAT PRODUCT DO YOU BUY? when you're buying milk you also ask producer of it to change it into water?"

I mentioned the samething with Street Fighter and imo it's the old stereotype that gamers are just losers you mentioned a while back. Too many idiots.

Well these people tend to be the vocal minority in a lot of cases but think they're the majority. Most people don't care either way but you have these terrible players who just want everything nerfed since they can't deal with it properly. These places I mentioned are just nerf witch hunts. Can't even go 5 minutes without seeing some topic about it.

They're definitely a vocal minority. I personal have given up on communities in general. Doesn't matter if it's politics, games, etc. Same idiots have monopolized discussions. Not worth the trouble.

The thing is that it's the very worst ones who have these opinions. People who know nothing of what they're talking about pretending like they do. It's maddening.
People who are actually good at these things aren't online discussing them. They're doing them.
Whiner nerfs happened on Overwatch. Saw it coming. Wouldn't be as annoying if other silly aspects were fixed.

Yes that's what caused the death of many of those sites. People are now on sites like Twitter and facebook talking to players directly. The 09'ers destroyed srk. The new players telling knowledgeable players they're wrong and insulting them, etc.
This happens on other sites too. A bunch of knowledgeable and cool people are there and then the morons show up and the place goes downhill. There are videos and other avenues for information nowadays. The classic "forums" as we know it have become much more niche than they were a decade ago. That's for sure.

Found another good site: game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/index.html?lang=enThis one has alot of story content and is actually made by Capcom. I saw event-scrubs referencing it alot with the profiles. It reminds me of those web 1.0 sites back in the 90's, pretty cool.

It's more about the game than the "hardcore" community nonsense. So, that's a plus.

Yes, just get down to the facts and be done with it.
