So it's a blend of all of the old ones? Interesting to see how it plays out. I remember Sonic 2 had those rings and bombs.

Sonic Mania PC Version Delayed by Two Weeks
Sega just announced that the release date for the PC version of Sonic Mania has been pushed back by a few days.
During a livestream on YouTube, we heard that the PC version of Sonic Mania will now be released on August 29th. The reason mentioned is that the development team wants to provide a bit more optimization to ensure the game is of the highest quality when it is officially available.
Fortunately, there is a silver-linning; those who already pre-ordered the game will receive a free copy of the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The offer will be available to those who pre-ordered either the Standard or the Collector’s Editions. While PC owners looking to get their hands on the retro Sonic title will have to wait a little longer.

Sonic Forces Shows a First Look at ‘Tag’ Gameplay in New Trailer Sega launched a new trailer for their new 3D Sonic title, Sonic Force. The trailer introduces “Tag” gameplay, a style in Sonic Forces that players will most likely master as they play through the game’s levels. In this modern Sonic title, players can use their costume created character to team up with Sonic and work in tandem with the Blue Blur. How this works is the character leading the pack will depend on the moves that the player uses. So when Sonic takes the lead while boosting, the Hero character can take over when using its Wispon, the trailer shows off a Wispon called the “Cube Hammer”. Sonic Forces borrows gameplay from multiple Sonic titles and brings them together for a fast action title featuring 3D and 2D levels for players to experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sonic Forces Receives Release Date This November Along With Physical Bonus Edition As of now, fans are about to pre-order the physical version of the game on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, with the digital pre-orders opening up soon. This physical only Bonus Edition will be available for a limited time only and contain a Sonic Forces controller skin and a Sega/Atlus Pack Addon, which adds 13 in-game outfits items and accessories to recreate certain Hero Characters across the developement studios. Sonic Forces is being developed by the same team that worked on Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations, two of the highest regarded modern Sonic titles. Sonic Forces has players play a mix of different gameplay style from Classic to Modern, which will break up the gameplay to ensure there are new elements introduced throughout the game’s campaign. Furthermore, Sonic Forces allows players to create a Custom Hero to team up with Sonic on his adventure. One gameplay element that has been added with the custom hero in mind is the “Tag” system, where Sonic and the Custom Hero can both be controlled in battle. The game will be available on November 7. Free “Sanic” DLC is Actually Being Added into Sonic Forces You can download a “Sanic” the Hedgehog T-shirt completely free of charge in Sonic Forces. The T-shirt can be used to further customize your avatar in the game. Sega revealed the strange DLC on the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account. The terrifying Sonic illustration originated back in 2010 when a YouTuber by the name of 0nyxheart uploaded a video of the iconic character being drawn (poorly) in Microsoft Paint. The video has since been taken down but other users have reuploaded multiple copies of the video to YouTube since then.Even though the new T-shirt is nothing to write home about in terms of style, it sure is funny that the Sonic Team decided to put it in the game. I did a sneak peek reaction on this. It's looking decent, but the stages seem kind of "empty" so far. I'd still like a Sonic Racing game where they race on foot like Sonic R though.
