Well 360 has a solid foot hold right now with being the first out which helped the Ps2 out alot.
The PS3 though is going to have brand name games but Halo 3 has been slated to realse on the same day.
The Wii is odd looking and with failing named games and possibly just the lack of the normal market because it won't appeal to someone not willing to try a new thing.
Basically I see the 360: Already has a huge online market of games to play that are far more established then Sony that makes them first.
Then the PS3
Finally Nintendo

I would be more inclined to agree if they had a greater share of wanted games to start out with. People generally look forward to Microsoft for the H word.
Nintendo is appealing to diehard fans nowadays. Sony is very expensive so most will wait a year or so to buy theirs. Consoles are slow their first year but catch up.
I haven't seen Xbox do anything extraordinary in sales just yet, even though they've been out near a year.

X box is lacking in the quality games thus far. They really need to up the ante and bring in some high caliber stuff like Ninja Gaiden. If they improve their stash then they might stay in the race but so far they've been one step behind of the competition. Honestly even though it looks like they may be doing good...they aren't. They are losing sorely in the Japanese markets and they are just a little too far behind on their tech. You'll see why in a minute.
The PS3 will drown the competition in graphics and gimmicks possibly. It has that Blue disc tech which an ordinary blue disc player will run you about $1000 so it's actually a good deal. It has wireless controllers that use similar tech as Nintendo's *cough-theif-cough*. And it's internet access is free! That's right free. That's a lot to compete with. Accent that with a strong gaming base and you've got a winner. However, the price is still too high. Even for hardcore gamers this is asking for a bit much. That price will definately cost them.
The Wii has a great starting line-up for games. Both from them and from other parties. They've done a great job of setting the system up for all audiences. There's stuff for the hardcore Nintendo fans and fans of a more adult genre. They're wireless tech is by far the best mostly because it combines so much flawlessly. They also use the rumble feature on these new controllers. (the PS3 is the only one not supporting rumble this year). It's internet access is also free with many, many features already on the web including the option of downloading or "renting" older games. It's backwards compatible (a first for Nintendo) and it's cheaper than the other systems. The price helps. It also has a good strong start in games. The Wii won most of the prizes on E3 for most interesting start and it has a very strong market right now. People in general appear more interested in it. (going by polls). The PS3's market has dropped due to a standard rise in pricing and the X-box is beginning to lose interest due to the new system's arrival.
I give the win to the Wii.

That is the big thing Halo 3 everyone is going to want to get it trust me Why? it is possibly the best Multiplayer game ever made for a consol. People are going to go out and get it just for that everyone knows this. This in turn means that many people are gonna go out and get it just so they can play their friends trust me I already know a bunch of people plannin on getting it. As for Sony's graphics hard to say because they packed in a lot of terms but it doesn't always equate to better graphics because what show us the raphics is completely different. And the games they have shown c,ose to being finished havn't gotten me that excited for it.

But that's the thing in economy, sell the consoles and make the profit off of games. Consoles never do their best their first year. My guess is that wii will kick ass this holdiays with their extra shipments and low prices, but eventually Sony will be reasonable and catch up. Nintendo seems to have the same people buying their stuff while people want something new. Despite some of the "unnecessary" stuff, sony has new things that will make people who don't even play games that much drool. But IMO, Xbox is out of the question. Microsoft,

Yes I did Judge it by how it looks becuase it will play a big factor. While I've heard it is very comfortable it is new and seems awkward. The person who has saved up three weeks pay check would more than likely go for the familar because it is familar. Seondly by lacking games what I meant again is that alot of those games aren't widely popular among large audiences. LOZ and the Marios while familar aren't the drawing forces people think they are. Very few people will actually buy the Wii based on the name brand games when newer names have come to dominate the market like Halo and Final Fantasy Yes Nintendo has kind of nose dived from Market Favorite. It has clearly taken back seat to Sony and Microsoft and it shows in its selling scheme by going the cheapest route.

Seondly by lacking games what I meant again is that alot of those games aren't widely popular among large audiences. The familiairity argument is how Nintendo keeps their sales anyways considering most people who get Nextgen nintendo have gotten previous consoles. I think Nintendo will become like sega, excellent ideas, but eventually the next best thing.

Ubisoft has a unusual set of games ready for the Wii on it's opening day.
Also Farcry (that awesome PC shooter that everyone loves) is coming out on it this year.
There many other titles that have people going, "What happened to the childish Nintendo that made Gamecube and took all the blood out of Mortal Kombat back in the day?"

EL want Wii.
I love my Gamecube way more than my XBox or PS2. The whole thing the XBox had going for it was gratuitous violence and adult themes. Sure, that entertains all the attention-span-less Mountain Dew junkies, but EL not care so much. EL perfectly content with happy little fairy boy in Wind Waker or cute little ghosties in Luigi's Mansion. You know why? Because the games were just plain FUN!

I agree (although I'm too much of a sissy to say that without some backing)
Nintendo focuses more on fun than the others. I find that I generally have more fun on an average Nintendo game than on half of anything else. Except Capcom. Capcom is my baby.

I don't think GC is kiddy anymore, I think it still appeals to it's strongest fans, meaning that people who usually get a next-gen nintendo tend to already have the prior two systems. If you're content with that, then by all means enjoy that. I think I'll wait awhile, and most likely get a PS3.

Now Xbox is a different story. I can very easily see Microsoft being the next Sega in the console wars.

I think your confusing what I think of the game with what I'm saying. I'm not saying my personal opinion as to which consul system I will get I'm telling on a whole how I see people looking at the new systems. And yes as a whole such look and familairty does play a role on whether people in general buy things. Mario and LOZ haven't been the big reasons why Nintendo has still competitive. Yes their games have been good but the big reasons why people buy the Gamecube was because it was cheap and many many people saw it as N64 the second coming. Next third party developers especially EA and Ubisoft aren't console specific. All of EA's games are multi consle supported and a number Ubisoft's will be as well. Now once again this isn't my personal opinion on the matter in fact the Wii has me intrigued by the new ideas it is using but asa whole I don't see it being a huge market block buster that is putting it past the other two. And CM a big thing involving the PS3s is that they aren't planning on shipping many consoles over in the begining.

Now why I've heard it is supposed to be the most natural feel ever you've got to agree that looks play a role in romeone buying something knew as well as familiarity. It isn't a bad thing about ebing cheap and N64 V.2 but they were pratically the only reason the GC was succesfull. Even still it didn't really compare to the other two. Next Third Party Games are the deciding factor here because all three systems have their's. EA will produce games for just the Wii but its most succesfull ones the sports games will be Multi-Console because it brings in more money.

With the Wii it is basically the same thing with PSP and DS. DS is winning not because of graphics, but because of new style of play, which makes it so much fun. Plus, the DS & Wii have a lot of good games.
The Wii has the Virtual Console, so people can download nes, snes, n64, Genesis/Mega Drive, TurboGrafx-16, and Commodore 64 games you can not find anymore. Plus, some snes games are like $40 because they are classic rare games, but with the Wii you could download them for $5.
Basically the Wii is a new fun way to play games. With the controller developers have more options, and the ways to play a game are endless. Plus, it is going to have good online play.
