Bandai Namco Celebrates 20 Years of the Soul Calibur Series As reported on Gematsu, Bandai Namco recently put out a video on YouTube celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the SoulCalibur series. It takes you back to the series' beginnings with Soul Edge back in December 20th of 1996 and running up to the f2p Soul Calibur Lost Swords which was released 2 years ago. Bandai Namco put out a Press Release detailing the recent Soul Calibur Pachislot machine which is being made in collaboration with YAMASA to sell to that particular market but it also announced that the Soul Calibur franchise has shipped over 14 Million copies worldwide across all the games. The description in the 20th Anniversary video details a Project Soul web page but accessing it right now leads to a test page. You can check it out here. All in all, it's not the new Soul Calibur game announcement we're all looking for but at least Bandai Namco haven't completely forgotten the series. SoulCalibur’s Music Transcends the Stage of History in the Orchestral Memories Concert “The legend will never die” as the–by now–old adage goes. Bandai Namco is keeping the SoulCalibur banner barely afloat, with a distinct lack of new game announcements, but nonetheless celebrating their series–which just passed its 20th anniversary. Lucky fans in Europe will get an opportunity to attend a live orchestral concert featuring pieces from the series’ soundtrack. The exact track list is shrouded in mystery, but the Orchestral Memories event will play on February 4th in Paris, France. There will also be music from Dark Souls, Tekken, “Tales of” games, God Eater, and more. Special guests include the composers Motoi Sakuraba (Dark Souls, and many other titles) and Go Shiina (Tales of, God Eater). Check out the promo video below, and here’s where Orchestral Memories tickets can be purchased: www.wildfaery.com/shop/en/53-orchestral-memoriesSource: shoryuken

Soulcalibur VI Announced Written By: Nyu Nozomi Hyuga The last we've previously seen Soulcalibur games was in 2014 of Soulcalibur Lost Swords (PS3 exclusive Free to Play game) & Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul (iOS card based fighting game), we also saw that Soulcalibur had a Pachinko machine back at Dec. 2016 during its 20th year anniversary. But as of recently that was announced during the 2017 Video Game Awards, Soulcalibur is making its return in 2018: Soulcalibur VI has been official announced, and this game looks like its going back to the original series (SoulEdge to Soulcalibur IV era) since Mitsurugi is back to his younger self (looks similar to Soulcalibur 1) and Sophitia is alive. Plus were getting a new mysterious character holding double-edge sword weapon which we would have to wait and see what this character is. This game will be available for PS4, Xbox One, & Steam. SoulCalibur VI PSX Gameplay Trailer Written By: Nyu Nozomi Hyuga With Soulcalibur VI getting announced, and going back to the older generation with 2 Classic SoulEdge characters looking like something straight from Soulcalibur 1 Costumes. We got more gameplay related stuff announced at PSX where we get to see more Sword action with Mitsurugi & Sophitia in a snowy mountain stage. We see more attacks that looks to be more Special Attacks. The game is taking place in the 16th Century, and according to the press release will "revisit the events of the original Soul Calibur to uncover hidden truths." Mark Religioso, Brand Manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment America, notes that the fast and kinetic gameplay that fans know and love is back in full form with Soul Calibur 6. We'll be seeing a stellar lineup of weapons, and SC6 will feature a simple control layout that will be welcoming to players of all skill levels. Here is a comparison between SC1 to SCVI: Mitsurugi Sophitia Check more images here: www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2017/dec/08/soul-calibur-6-screeshots/2/Source: Youtube (Bandai Namco Entertainment America) & eventhubs (info & images)

Nightmare, Kilik, Xianghua, and Groh join Soul Calibur 6 Bandai Namco released a brand new trailer for Soul Calibur 6 this morning. In it, we see four characters revealed as playable. Series legacy fighters Nightmare, Kilik, and Xianghua all join the battle. In addition to this, the game's first newcomer, Groh, makes a debut. The trailer gives us a look at what these fighters can do in battle. Starting with Nightmare, the large, armored combatant still fights with his giant sword in hand. Utilizing heavy slashes to trample foes, Nightmare also comes equipped with a super move that sees him riding a ghostly horse and charging at the opponent. A much lighter and more mobile character than Nightmare, Xianghua uses graceful sword strikes and kicks to secure victory. Her weapon of choice is the Jian, a Chinese sword, and her super sends the opponent up into the air, slashes them several times, and finishes with a cinematic slice that pauses for a second before the opponent feels the effect of it. www.eventhubs.com/imagegallery/2018/jan/25/soul-calibur-6-new-characters-screenshots/1/Soul Cailbur 6's first original fighter, Groh, fights with a long dual blade that can separate into two smaller ones. He moves fairly quickly, and appears to have a powered up state in which his hair changes color and he removes his eye patch. Lastly, we see the return of Kilik -- Soul Calibur's staff wielder. He has fast strikes that allow him to fight up close, as well as slower moving attacks that have much more range on them. At the end of the trailer, we see a quick teaser of what appears to be Kilik possessed by Soul Edge. He performs a large, cinematic super attack, meaning this will likely be a powerful transformation that the character can use in battle. Source: eventhubs

Soulcalibur VI adds Ivy & Zasalamel Written By: Nyu Nozomi Hyuga Bandai Namco recently have added more characters to the roster which is Ivy & Zasalamel. Ivy was previously talked about when our fellow "allies" the SJWs were talking about her and her controversy, problematic, scantily-clad boob monster Costume 1 which would make them to feel uncomfortable to play the game in front of everyone (check Jan 13, 2018 at 5:31pm). But anyway lets see what the trailer has to offer: Well, Ivy is back in her classic SC1 Costume which won't get these snowflakes to play Soulcalibur VI in front of their friends (they won't be missed). In terms of gameplay Ivy has plenty of juggle combos, long range attacks, she can grab opponents from a distance, her Ivy blade gets enhanced with flame attacks. Zasalamel does play similar to what he played like from previous games with some extra abilities from freezing opponents and sucks opponents like Abyss. It is good to see Ivy in her classic costume which I'll be looking forward to the game, I'll be making some classic comparisons. Enjoy some pics: Source: eventhubs

I'm glad they didn't tone down the fanservice on Ivy. If anything it looks like they amped it up haha.

Soul Calibur Classic Comparison Nyu Nozomi Hyuga here, when Soulcalibur VI made its debut I made a comparison between SC1 to SCVI costumes which the game is going back to the 16th century which Mitsurugi is young (since Mitsurugi had aged in SCV) & Sophitia is alive (who was dead at the end of SCIV, which Patroklos & Pyhrra were the main characters for SCV) which they were wearing costumes based off the first Soulcalibur game (Arcades, Dreamcast, Xbox Live Arcade). A month has passed (Nightmare, Xianghua, & Kilik) & we recently got 2 more (Ivy & Zasalamel). First lets compare to the Azure Knight Nightmare who made his debut to Soulcalibur 1, which Nightmare looks like he is in an updated version of his SC1 Costume 1: Then we have Xianghua who made her debut in Soulcalibur 1, unlike previous veterans (Mitsurugi, Sophitia, & Nightmare) wear SC1 costumes her outfit looks like SCII costumes which Costume 2 & 3 (which 3rd also appeared in SCIII as Cos. 2) were fused together as one with a blue pallet: Next we have Kilik who made his debut in Soulcalibur 1, appears to be in his SC1 Costume 1 with an addition to his top robe: Then we have another female that made her debut in Soulcalibur 1 Ivy, she is wearing her sexy SC1 Costume 1: Then finally we have Zasalamel who debuted in Soulcalibur III, his new outfit looks like a bunch of his past costumes mixed as one new costume design: Head (SCIII Costume 1) Upperbody (SCIV Costume 1) Feet (SCIV Costume 2) New Design

This character meshes with the game wonderfully! I even talk about this. I wonder who else they'll add into the game.

My favorites are characters with sticks like Kilik & Seong Mina, along with Siegfried. For SCVI I'm looking forward to learning Ivy & Talim.
