Because all his attacks were doozies and he was so fast moving for a boss and he never seemed to employ a big pattern.
Basically all he did was hit you with everything and the kitchen sink and you had to hope he didn't eat teh sh*t out of you before you could win.
Of course though I was young when I played it so it could b different now.

That guy in Time Splitters 3 who fused himself to that machine has to be one of the most difficul bosses. Da Masta knows who I speak of.

He has too many anti-air capabilities, he doesn't have enough against crouch... especially since he had less moves in that game.
Nevertheless Shin Akuma old school was a badass/cheapass...

No. Appearantly we aren't familiar with the SNK boss syndrome? It's pretty well known that SNK bosses are unfair in a way that makes you think of suicide. It would probably be more humane.
Orochii. He's the definitive cheap boss. Everything he does is ridiculous.

That game was godly cheap all the way through, Shin Akuma made it so cheap that it was an honor to get beat by him.

They do. I can't remember the bosses name but he's in the Last Blade II Or Amakusa from Samurai Showdown M Bison in SF Alpha 3. Once you get going it's not too hard to tear him apart but if he pulls off that damn Psycho Crusher it will kill you.

I thought Bison was rather easy when you memorized him, his regular moves aren't as bad as they are when he's skinny, and those matter more, his priority in CvSNK 2 is sickening, my cousin loves being cheap with him.

That guy in Time Splitters 3 who fused himself to that machine has to be one of the most difficul bosses. Da Masta knows who I speak of. indeed but I wouldn't say he was the hardest boss ever. We just couldn't figure out where to hit him for the longest time, otherwise he was pretty easy, just cheap ... If you all want to know the hardest boss/ boss chain ever, witness Megaman X: Sigma's dog (pushover), Sigma (semi pushover), Big ass mega dragon thing (has been recorded to cause siezures for people due to frustration and anxiety). He is very hard. His weakpoint is very difficult to unveil let alone hit. He has a HUGE life bar. It is time consuming just to get to him (you have to beat the previous two bosses beforehand each time). As opposed to fighting him in a room, he is the room and he is almost always shooting stuff at you. You can count on being hit pretty often even if you are great at dodging. while I would usually say RPG bosses are pretty easy since you can just level up a ton before hand, there are exceptions... My friend was saying that emerald weapon was hard, but I think he beat omega weapon. Anyway, I would say Mario RPG has the second hardest boss. I forgot her name (something along the lines of agoogleplex). She's a secret boss, and she has several crystals each with special powers (ressurection, healing, powerful elemental spells). All of them had formiddable HP and I think I only managed to kill all of the crystals once, and by then I was half dead facing off against that evil boss... If that's not enough she has a massive arsenal herself, and, to top it off, has an inconcievable level of HP. Definitely the two hardest bosses in a video game.

I will concur on the Sigma thing And as I recall the boss in Super Mario RPG that you are speaking of was also exceptionally hard.
However, I still stand by my guns that Orochii is the toughest boss I've had to fight thus far. At least Gill could be beaten. I don't know what SNK was thinking with Orochii.

I should look into this orochii, because my friend is a big SNK fan. What's the game title and platform? as for SNK, my memories are with Mr. Karate.

Guh. RAAM is a freaking turd. I'd go with The Fear from MGS3 on the hardest difficulty. Try beating him without the Patriot.

Anybody ever play Killer Instinct? Remember Eyedol? I do. I was about to list him, but you did it first. Definitely a lot harder than any other guy mentioned. Simply disgustingly difficult when you add some difficulty level...
