dc vs streetfighter?

In non-related E3 news, we heard some buzz from Capcom a deal with DC that was close to completion (as of April 2006). In the original agreement, the first planned game was to be none other than DC vs. Street Fighter. At this point though, the licensing hasn't been finalized and we aren't sure whether this it's at a halt or is still in the works. We confirmed this news with both sides, Capcom and DC and discussions between the two was/is in the works. We really, really hope this game comes out, because as much as we love Marvel characters, DC characters are our favorites. Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, yeah, this would be awesome.

We reported two years ago that Capcom was planning on a DC vs. Marvel vs. Capcom and as we know today, this won't happen only because of the complexity in the legalities between not two, but three companies. Yes, it all comes down to money and the royalties that Marvel charges now because of it's current high demanded IP's, it's not as profitable as it once was.

In more non-related E3 news, we finally discovered from Marvel reps. the reasoning of why there was no X-Live feature in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the Xbox. Marvel at the time wasn't too familiar with how the Xbox Live online service worked and thought that Capcom was going to make residual income off each game played online, hence they wanted royalties based off how many times a gamer would go online for battle. We suspect that there's more to it than this, but this was how the Marvel representative interpreted reasoning of why the deal fell through.

Next up, JAMMA 44th AM Show in September 2006, Tokyo, Japan. In the same month, Tokyo Game Show 2006. We'll be there for both shows and have a full report and hopefully videos also.

Depends on their level of powers and the showings of Charlie you are using. Which is why I must ask... which showings are you using?

the recent issues from this year. charlie was the best street fighter for the good guys side. guile was the second and even he stould no chance vs charlie when they fought the last time. charlie even with multiable bullets through his chest was stalemating bison

I'm trying to remember whether that was Malibu, Udon, or DDP.... I've seen Charlie quite powerful, but I've seen Ryu powerful on even more occasions and in canon. However that kick he did through the mountain was hella impressive. ;D

I know, the media for SF is confusing though... true 100% canon is what's happening with the games. Ryu is training under Oro right now.

True, comics have more showings where games are mostly about endings, but the comics fluctuate a whole bunch.

Those are ok, but a polished game would be hella fun!! I wonder how characters like the Flash would be in the game, I could see him being broken...

If you look at the Total Justice fighting game the DC characters were translated pretty good but I was kind of hoping for more characters.

unfortunately, Capcom isn't making any more street fighter games. So I guess it won't be easy to find anything 100% cannon after SF3. SF4 won't even happen.

I just hope it's good. Would you prefer the all powerful Capcom vs. SNK 2 style with the flash, or the basic but more mature Street fighter 3 style?

They need a new SF though... I liked the C vs SNK and Alpha styles as well, 3 was good for timing, but a bit simplistic at times.

I'm not sure. Perhaps they're under-staffed. They really have to prioritize their time because they need to be looking for the next big thing.
I mean Resident Evil is big so they need to work on that.

Viewtiful Joe was a really good game, I might pick it up from the favorites bin.
