Nintendo Sued

It seems like Nintendo is getting sued for patent infrengement. You can read the article HERE

I personally don't think it is going to go through. I don't know how long it took Nintendo to make the controller, but I would think they probably started making it before this patent was place.

How do you know that this company is not just trying to get money? I would think the controller would take a few years to develope, which would mean it was around before this patent was made.

The problem is that there is a patent and those aren't easy to overcome. Even if Nintendo was developing it first it all depends on being the first to get a patent and if they were issued one then they get it.

I never heard of the other company so they are probably pretty small, so Nintendo can probably just buy their way out of it.

UNLESS

Someone else buys them out in the meantime, which would shift ownership of said patent to the new owner.

Isn't Microsoft the biggest company out of the three so I'm guessing they could probably put forth the most reasonable price without it effecting the business.

This is unbelievable.

It's also total bull. They say the technology is SIMILAR! Not exact. I find it hard to believe that Nintendo stole any tech. Just because Nintendo is using a controller shaped like a remote doesn't mean that it's the same as what these people have made. Essentially what these people have made is a low-tech version of what Nintendo did.
Kind of like Thomas Edison didn't invent the light-bulb but he did perfect it.

They want a mouse. Nintendo wants a controller. There's a big difference.

It's good that they're all pretty much the same amount of evil, that way there's still competition.

I forgot about this thread. I did find out what happened in the end. It turned out that Nintendo won. It turns out that a person that worked for Nintendo, works for this other company now, and that picture they had, was actually an early prototype for the Wii controller.
