I admit that some of the news channel seem to constantly talk about the same things to obtain ratings, but at least they live up to their names, unlike MTV.

Anybody who loves to be entertained at other people's expenses would love MTV. Most, if not all, of the reality shows on there are constantly making the contestants look bad.

I don't know, but I just don't think being on an MTV show is worth being embarrassed on national television.

Did he have a decent reason of wanting to be on that show besides "I want to be on television"?

Everybody wants to be famous nowadays...

Well, everyone has some sort of talent, but they may not want it to be exploited to the public. Instead, they just want to get on television and misbehave in hopes of being "the popular" one in the show and that person will end up having his/her own series.
The perfect example is that Black girl from that trashy show on VH1. I think her nickname was New York, but I don't know her real name.

Of course. Audience interactivity is a great way to boost ratings because people will think that they're vote actually counts for something, but it's pretty obvious that the producer still has the final word as to who actually wins the competition.

"...That KNOW we get Os like CHEERIOS, That KNOW cuz they seen us in the VIDEOS, That KNOW, that the day that you play me Will be the same day, that MTV play VIDEOS..."
-Kanye West-
MTV is in the same boat as VH1 now. Suprisingly, BET has gotten better. They played TOO MANY videos at one point.

Haha, you're not suppose to use the same word to rhyme with itself. Kanye should know that...
MTV is still worst than VH1. VH1 has countdowns and other sideshows that are actually decent to watch. I admit that most of their reality shows are as trashy as the ones on MTV, and that's the problem that both of them share: trashy, reality garbage.
My main concern with BET is the content. I know it's suppose to be entertainment for Black people, but that doesn't mean they have to constantly show movies and reality shows that put us in such a negative light. In fact, I think one of Tyler Perry's movies was on last night on BET. His movies are guaranteed to have Black stereotypes (mostly negative) in them. The only thing I watch on BET is the gospel segment every Sunday morning before church and a few of the sitcoms that originated on other channels, like "My Wife and Kids".
What makes MTV the worst of all channels is that they're the perfect example of what happens if all that the executives care about is ratings, not to mention that they barely live up to their name anymore. Last time I checked, MTV stood for Music Television. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they decide to change their name to something else, like RTV (Reality Television)...

IMO, both channels suck equally, MTV plays random videos at night. Both just have too many disgustingly stupid shows that come on WAAAAYYYYY too much. Both MTV and VH1 are owned by the same guy. They don't want you to know that. BET has gotten alot better. I'm afraid it still suffers from too much (sorry if anyone gets offended) "Nigga Shit" and not enough "Black Entertainment". It's good that they stopped wit the constant videos and Comic View EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. But, damn, how many times does Soul Plane have to come on, that stupid ass movie comes on EVER DAY? Why is BET News only like 2 minutes long? Why is BET givin' so much exposure to Lil Wayne and er body he is affiliated wit,"Does anybody make real shit anymore?" Why do they make black versions of white shows? Why can't they just make black shows? But again, BET has gotten better and does a lot of good. They even shot a movie in my neighborhood and my school was in a BET movie. FYI, there is a Reality Show channel. MTV is such a ratings whore, but at the same time I wonder when I see some of the shows, who watches this shit? How can they have ratings? It's a shame that I ask the same question for MTV that I do when I think of Bill O'Rileys' show.

P.S. Tyler Perry is a genius! I love what that guy does, he's pretty good. When I'm in Atlanta, I go to see his plays often. Altho, he needs to slow down wit the movies. He comes out with one every month. I had to take my younger cousin to the show wit me and I wanted to see a action flick and O'course she didn't. I told my younger cousin that Ninja Assassin was a Tyler Perry movie and she believed me.

Other than the premium channels, I can't even stand watching T.V. anymore. As for music, I just listen to mix tapes. Since the "music" channels have just become an advertising machine for the same artist. Really, anyone who claims to be into music and listens to 106 & Park is a joke. . .real talk.
