Yeah, that's right, I'm sure you all remember those painfully nostalgic days of Toonami. Everyday rushing after school to watch Toonami, the show that introduced anime to america. I Love toonami, and if your here I guess you do too. So, post all your favorite Toonami moments here.

I seen that Toonami Tom wasn't the host of it when it first came around in any form it was Moltar from Space Ghost who actually was a better host I wish I had footage to proved my point he was my favorite host of Toonami.

I preferred Tom, he just had more personality than Moltar [Who had personality himself]. Though, Moltar was a good host and I'm sure he has some fans here and there. Tom was just more of an immersive host. . .current Tom sucks.

How are the programs on that channel now? Terrible, there are only a few shows and they show it only on Saturdays as opposed too the original 6 days a week. They mostly show Naruto and some other crap. They had some good shows, but I lost interest. It's become a kid show and the host well:

I dislike the current Tom along with his friends. Cartoon Network needs to bring back the previous Tom because he was much better.

Well, you never know. Besides, Toonami could just re-use the clips of the previous Tom instead of making new ones.

I'm not sure, but it may have been low ratings or something.
Because of that, I hardly watch Cartoon Network anymore.

I haven't paid it any attention. What makes it so bad now? It's not bad, but it's not for me anymore. When it first came back, I knew what was going to happen. the basically just air mostly mainstream shounen jump anime. I saw that comig, because that's how the anime fandom online is now. They either watch: Flavor of the month light novel adaptation or Some Shounen Jump title. Toonami focuses on the later. When I got into anime during the boom, it was diffferent [not Toonami necessarily] But, it seems like back then on Cable Tv they aired more variety of anime from different eras as well. The old school anime blocks had more variety: I love watching anime from all eras, but this block seems focused on only the most popular stuff from the internet. I dunno, it's not the same. Couple that with the fact that the anime boom is over and there's been a shift in fandom [They only care for new shows]. It's just not for me. I did enjoy when they first came back with Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins. But, it's not worth my time anymore. I feel like I have to move on.

Hey are you into Seinen?

Older works are now considered seinen because back then they were more raunchy or violent.

Older works are now considered seinen because back then they were more raunchy or violent. Well generally the content is also more adult in terms of themes. I mean Yu Yu Hakusho is more violent than many shows, but it's the general "Kid gets powers and saves people." In it's general premise. No heavy look into adult relationships and infidelity, jobs, psychology, etc. Even with the content it still has that basic "teen" theme. Like DBZ, Yu Gi Oh, etc.

I think on another level, I dislike the new Toonami because I've come to the realization that I no longer "belong" in that type of fandom. Honest, in the last 3 years I've gotten so good at finding anime that I like [ even created a methodology for finding good shows] and I'm generally alot so much more knowledgeable than the typical english speaking fan. That it's no longer any use to me, same with the fandom. It's like out growing a pair of old jeans you used to love to wear. You may like them and may still want to wear them. But, they no longer "fit" you.

When I find something I end up liking it because I know what I'm looking for.

It's much easier for me to find something than for someone to recommend something for me.
