@#$%!!!!
It's finally happened. I've been able to avoid making the decision up until now but SF IV is coming out soon and I can't miss it so where do I go from here?
Which should I purchase and why?
If I could have both systems represented here that would be great.
Convince me on my next purchase.

Choose the 360 if you believe in important things like "freedom" and "America".
Choose the PS3 if you're a dirty communist who thinks Sony should continue existing.

The 360 definitely has more titles released, the PS3 on the other hand doesn't. The big blockbusters released on PS3 are MGS4, Resistance [well the second game once released], and Ratchet & Clank, all very excellent. Now the 360 has Halo 3, Gears of War. They both share Bioshock and Assassin's Creed. The PS3 [there's a rumor about the new ones that i won't delv into unless asked] has backwards compatibility with all games until the PS1's existence started. The 360 has BC with only a few titles. They both share some 3rd party downloadable games and have their own through an online store accessible through the console [some on the PS3, and some demo's for PSP, are available on your home PC]. Have any questions about the nitty gritty on either console? Ask me, I have both sitting in the same room with me at the moment

Xbox 360 is better in my opinion because there's more good games on it than PS3 plus you have achievement points.

We have a communist in our midst.
I just watched E3 for the PS3 today. I don't know why I wasted upwards of two hours watching a bunch of self important Sony employees march around a stage and talk... a lot. But yeah, I say 360, even though I own neither. Might as well go for the lesser of two evils.

MGS4 is amazing, I beat it twice, and my friends borrowing the game and console.
and since a recent update, they're allowing developers to make achievements for the games on the PS3, I can't check it out cause my console isn't in my house atm....

hey I heard MGS4 was a little too much of a movie and not enough a game. do you think they have a point? or they're being too picky? or maybe they have no idea what they're talking about?

MGS4 does have long ass cut scenes in some points, but then the game looks so great, it flows straight from a cutscene into gameplay, it just throws the HUD up and suddenly you're playing. I have a love/hate relationship with these guys atm. They have a point about the cutscenes, but it's the last chapter for Solid Snake, they make key story points throughout the cutscenes about whats happening. Then the gameplay can last for a really long time in itself if you never advance though the battle field. Some boss fights can take more time too, there's no straightforwardness at all. You have to stay awake during these cutscenes unless you've watched them all before of course. They give hints and clues that make you think in different ways to get the job done.

Didn't they do that with MGS2? Too many cutscenes?

I don't recall, it didn't have too much replay value to me. But the MGS4 cutscenes are deffo worth it, FUCKING LONG, but worth it.

The problem with MGS2 was Raiden though, not the cutscenes. I agree; the replay value was more or less non-existent. And yes, some of the cutscenes in no. 4 are supposed to be a lot longer than 5-10 minutes, though I still haven't played it.
