Is time travel possile? any time? in the past, present or future for the human race?
If you belive its able to be real, what year, soon? in the future, how far into the future?
If you had a time machine, what would be your 3 main activities in useing it?
those are my questions on Time but you can make your own.

Time travel is possible I suppose, but the chances for so much to go wrong would be mind blowing for quite some time until it was perfected. It would be useful in court though.

Is time travel possile? any time? in the past, present or future for the human race?I have no clue, the only theories on time travel I've heard of have been from science fiction novels. So I guess for the most part, I doubt it. If you belive its able to be real, what year, soon? in the future, how far into the future? Science has relatively no theory to speak of regarding just time itself, much less time travel. So maybe distant future. Who knows? the tools for constructing the thing may come right off hand. If you had a time machine, what would be your 3 main activities in useing it? Oh this is a great question. What would I do? I'd probably be really selfish. Granted I probably wouldn't do anything if if I had to worry about ramifications. So let's just assume there won't be any dire paradoxes or anything. First of all, I'd probably try to go back as far as I could without running into some celestial chaos where I will most definitely meet my demise, just to see what things were like. Also, if I was the only person in the world who owned one, I would start screwing with the government. I don't really know how. I just would. And of course, I would go back in time at noon three times a week to eat Donato's pizza for lunch. The long lost pizza place which sat on a hill. *sniff* I miss you Donato's.

Is there a way people would be able to view the events unharmed but still be there?

hmm good answers Majista, indeed, My argument against time travelwould probably be that surely if people travel time, someone would have spotted it or the users of hte machine would make it known, surely if it were ever to excist "someone" who uses it would be seen today for example.

Maybe all those UFO sitings are really time machines! Actually, seriously, Even if one of us actually were to catch a glimpse of one, we'd still have no idea what it was. It certainly explains how the pyramids were built though.

I thought i would reply to my own thread, i feel rather foolish if I do not lol Is time travel possible? This brings a lot of things to my mind, some ive said already like how I belive that someone would record a being, for example a time traveller in history, for example maybe some futuristic dude with a time machine woudl want to actually go back and meet Julious ceaser, say hello to Cleopatra or Ramses, or even intervene in the more recent wars, and most of all, have a look and see if the Christ and all his miracles are true, but none of this is written or dated etc etc (maybe christ is a time traveler ) If I had a time machine, hmm, indeed if only. my main objective would probably to go back in time with a camera and take loads and loads of pictures and video footage of me with my girl back when we were happy together, its things like that, those things that are the few things that mean something to me in this world, and its unfortate that all I have is memories, but I wish i had vids and pics of such a long time ago but i never had access to such resources this is more of a secondary, relive all the fave moments I had with my girl, perhaps again and again, like a rewind, maybe even change some, although I would fear to shake balance and bend paradoxes, lets just say I knew it wouldnt matter and that this would be some sort of parallell dimension if i were to change things I would. Finally and perhaps least important thing to me but something interesting to do is what i said earlier, see if Christ, religion and all these miracles that have been said are perhaps true, go back to all these writings and see if their real.

There are already theories on top of theories dealing with everything from the grandfather paradox all the way down to why we haven't spotted a time traveler yet. But I always enjoy a nice conversation.

That is always a big one. Reliving the "good ol days", but I always find that the worst times become "good ol days" when they are far enough in the past, which for me is usually about 5-6 months, the end of last year seems nostalgic, but I know it was far from it when I was experiencing it, but I also knew it would feel nostalgic later.

The grandfather paradox happens when you travel back in time and accidently (or intentionally ) kill your grandfather before he sires one of your parents. The paradox is since one of your parents wont exist, neither should you. But you do because you killed your grandfather. But your grandfather never had one of your parents, so you shouldnt exist. But you do because.... That is the paradox. I hope I explained it so people can understand. I am a bit tired.

It would be the same case if you killed your father before he was your father too right?

I'm sorry to come in sorta late, butt: Time Travel may be not possible now, maybe in the future. It seems rather impossible thinking of it. Cells, constantly growing, constantly progressing. A machine would have to thrust you backwards, would have to make everything hit the |<< button while you're in the machine. How can a machine take you back? By reversing things around you. Lest it reverse you, straight into nonexistence. If not now, far future, and a crap load of math that is currently unavailable, lol. Great last question. First off I'd go back, kill the guy that told me I can only change 3 things, put on his face like Hanibal [sp?] Lecter and say I can do all the shit I wanted. Then I'd do change a lot of things I wish I could change in my personal life and then some crazy shit as illustrated by this comic strip:

From what I know then I believe that according to the theory concerning the speed of light and the theory by einstein, is that if you are capable of moving faster then the speed of light then time will go backwards, because you will create tachyoners I believe they are called, they are a princip based on antiparticles, but I to answer the question yes I believe that one day, we will be capable of traveling in time, maybe not hundreds of years back in the beginning maybe the same distance as we currently are capable of teleporting a atom a few milimeters, then we will be capable of traveling nanoseconds.

In some way for instance you need to accelerate a proton to a significant degree before you can turn it into a anti proton you then further need to accelerate that anti-proton into a tachyon, and with that Tachyon you will be capable of (in theory) time travel. So I guess you can say in some way speed is related to time, though not directly, but I will frankly admit that I doesn't know alot about this theory only what I have read.

Not exactly I gave the example of how the human race currently are capable of teleporting a atom a few milimeters I believe it is, I then continue to say that we will perhaps some day in the "near" future travel a few nanoseconds. It wasn't my meaning to set distance as a meassurement

lol, i feel happier that i read it that way then.
then i also feel better that we may be going a few seconds in time.......oh wait i just did it! not to be condescending, it's still really cool that we can even do that at the moment.
