This is as official as it gets people. You can talk about America's next president here but nowhere else under ANY circumstances (jk).

What do you anticipate from the next president? What are your concerns? Do you dread these coming 4/8 years (God forbid another number), or do you have high hopes that our nation will recover soon?

Say what you want, but use caution because if anybody so much as slips up, we will drop the ban hammer on your ass. (also jk... or am I?)

I don't think he'll be "flawless" and I'm not going to look for him to mess up, I think he has a good view and vision and that is what we need. It isn't just up to him to "save" America though, we all have to take a part.

I don't think he'll be "flawless" and I'm not going to look for him to mess up, I think he has a good view and vision and that is what we need. It isn't just up to him to "save" America though, we all have to take a part.

This is how I see it. If we find out that there's a a giant meteor en route for Maine, we've got just the guy to blame it on.

Did you hear about the guy that threw his shoes at Bush when he visited Iraq? His surprise visit definitely had some surprises.

Yeah, I saw that in the news this morning. Honestly, I'm not the surprised at all. Bush's reaction made me laugh, though.

I wonder how he would've reacted if it was a bullet instead of a shoe...

I'm pretty sure that the only reason why Bush reacted the way he did was because the shoe missed him. I bet he would've said something different if the shoe made contact with his face.

I'm sure you would. Bush has a lot he needs to be blamed for lol especially to foreign countries, I'm surprised he showed up. Thankfully he's coming out. Nevertheless how do you feel about Obama coming in?

I'm okay with it. I admit that I was ecstatic about having a Black president at first, but I just hope he does a good job. I think he'll do great because he was very passionate during that 30 minute campaign he did on television and really wanted to make some changes in our country.

I'm sure that there are still some people who can't believe that the commander in chief is going to be a Black guy, but they'll just have to get used to it. I'm pretty sure that there'll be more assassination attempts since hate groups are still present in our society, but I'm sure Obama will be well-protected by his guards.

It's nothing wrong with being happy that the first black guy overcame odds and became president, I think we should thank Bush for that partially. Some old dogs don't learn new tricks, but that's the world. Might as well give him a chance to mess up like the others did.

But anyway, Obama is bound to make some mistakes. That's just how the world works. I just hope he doesn't completely screw things up. He seems like a bit of an idealist to me, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. I'm just not sure what this country needs right now.

Since Obama isn't perfect, it's guaranteed that he's going to make some mistakes. They may not be as bad as the mistakes Bush made, but they're going to happen. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Well it's good that you aren't trying to be like a lot of people who "know what the country needs" while they sit on their couches. I think it's a bit of a stretch to say any one person, especially who aren't involved in office to that level can say they have the absolute right opinion about what the country needs, because it really is going to take all of us to get things better.

Bah you Bush fanatic. I wasn't talking about what he did as president, I was just making light of the situation with the shoe like everyone else, and it was interesting conversation because everyone's talking about it. The man has matrix like dodging skills. But it is off topic so we'll stick to Obama.

I like his approach on the foreign policy, I'm curious about what he wants to do with education however, that has been tossed to the wayside for a while now.

Well that's better than the death threats he received at least. I read about it but I haven't seen them yet. It tells you how much America knows about politics, though taking care of yourself shows you have good esteem and will take pride in other things generally.

I mean what do you want to hear, you asked what we thought about them. I like what he "promised" he'd do about finances, I just wonder if it'll go through like that, will he really support the "middle man" who is responsible for much of the stability in America.

I like how he feels about funding schools, Americorps is a wonderful idea. Of course you had your haters saying that he "was dumb" before they even knew what it was. I can expand on Americorps if you'd like.

Well, Obama's inauguration is in two days. I'll be watching it on CNN. Are any of you actually going?
