You think so? The reason they did it is because apparently it is hard to use a ton of weapons on consoles. It sucks when consoles become the standard for these types of games instead of PC. But it costs so much to do it for everyone especially with pirating and all of that.

To give him all weapons would break the game if they didn't change everything else. I never had a problem using tons of weapons with the console myself.

Bah! Thats bullshit... Hell, look at games such as Oblivion and Fallout, or Doom even... Both Fallout and Oblivion have at least over 100 weapon choices each, and Doom at the very least has a dozen... And all 3 made it to consoles intact... These guys are looking for an excuse to do poorly, and the game isn't even out yet! #sadwalk#

Well now I could see the RPG's (lol) having that many weapons because you can select them through a menu and it isn't as fast paced. But they could do at least a dozen weapons with the inventory. Supposedly it's less "modern", but the Duke is Duke, he should be able to do it.

Duke revolutionised 3D shooting about as much as DOOM did, and he did it with style... If they take this gigantic leap backwards and crap on Duke after 13 years of development, I'm afraid I'll have to boycot Duke Nukem Forever and stick with 3D

Wow it is a big deal to you huh? I do agree that it revolutionized 3d shooters, Doom set a lot of standards and Duke has set many as well with level design and personality in a game, especially shooters.

I'll still buy it, but it is a nuisance. I did show you the new Duke 3d right, it's like the Duke Nukem Forever at heart. They upgraded everything.

It runs off of that platform.

This mod doesn't just enhance graphics, it enhances gameplay in every way. Dual wielding, better weapons, you can move items, spawn bots, capture monsters, use a bike and flying carship (in some TC's), use martial arts kicks, carry the Battlelord's gun, store health, use your inventory better (like using night vision to detect puzzles, and everything.

I must say, that looks impressive.

However, I think they should have upscaled the cycloid and the Alien Queen to match the 64 version, that Cycloid was friggin gigantic, and worthy of the title emperor (Besides the fact that he could absorb 6+ fully charged plasma cannon shots, the 33 charge fueled nuke scaled blasts that is)

Nono, those ones I captured were the mini versions of the bosses (like the Battlelord Sentry), You obviously can't capture the full ones because the episode ends. Actually the older versions used to have the full sized bosses show up, but they'd die and you'd finish the episode, sometimes on the first level (they only had 1hp too for some reason). These versions are better as they can fit into places.

The random abilities makes them much tougher, as enemies can all teleport instantly, they can shoot grenades and rockets, ricochet bullets, shrink rays, and they have tons of instant death attacks. However they also drop random things (even jetpacks sometimes!) so it evens out.

The Queen is full sized there, just very far away.

Oh I see. I think they did make the emperor larger, but I'm not sure if it was like the 64 version (I never did like that model though in terms of looks), size didn't bother me one way or the other.

Actually I must say the smaller enemies are much harder in this game with random abilities on. The mini emperor will be in a tight pathway and shoot missles *and* grenades everywhere, much tougher than the original, he is also smaller making it easier to hit you. The original emperor was in a very large stadium which gave you room to move. In fact the Battlelord was actually the toughest as you couldn't dodge him and you didn't have the devastator/plasma gun.

This version is a totally different game. Even the troopers can kill you in one hit with their homing missles. They were actually broken at first and made them the deadliest enemy in the game at large numbers until it was nerfed. The pig cops have a double barreled shotgun which can kill in one hit (it does 140 damage max), and then they can also shoot Octabrain blasts, ricochet shells and grenades. They also increase the HP of many of them and make them immune to certain weapons. I also use the double enemies/double items option. One thing that is cool is that you can carry the Battlelord's gun, and you can also use a BFG weapon.

Your right, the model they used was crap for the Cycloid in the 64, he looked like crap, but due to his size and his added weapon, he was a bitch to beat... Near full charged plasma cannon that fired as fast as his missiles was insane to try and dodge in the seats.

Now I'm really interested in this new Duke.

It's been worked on and updated for years. There are all sorts of things cool about it. Be wary that it takes a very high end computer to play with full graphics and effects (it is more demanding than Crysis). BUT you have many different graphical settings and can play on classic as well. I'll fetch the links.

You can also use a gravity gun like in half life, useful for getting pickups. Also a mind control ray!
