You can play them on the standard graphics settings. Like old school Duke. There are gameplay mods which change the gameplay and you can keep the graphics.

No, I mean, some modders are absolutely nuts with what they think up...

You should see the mod lists i have going for games like Oblivion, and the two Fallout games... absolutely insane.... and mods for a Duke game are going to be mindboggling.

See, I've seen little tweaks for bethesta's games from adding clocks to all the cities in Oblivion that all actually run ingame time, to massive complete overhauls that go right down into source codes, ones that add hundreds of new monsters items weapons and areas.... the shit was nutz. with a Duke game, because the character is WAY out there, and the nature of the game is also way out there, the amount of modability is going to be huge, not Bethesta scale huge, but really big. Now, if we add in Duke to say Fallout New Vegas as the Player character, complete with voices....

I would shudder.
