Possibly, that was considered non canon wasn't it? I was backing that for a while myself.

While the rumors come form an unconfirmed source, I actually think that the story has some credence to it.

fact is, they are similar in apperance and attitude in almost every respect. the only difference is Ryu has morals that where drummed into him since infancy by Gouken. Then there's the entire thing about Ryu having untrained, natural access to Satsui No Hadou... The fact that Gouki was initially training with the Satsui No Hadou at the time of Ryu's conception would make a damn good explanation for Ryu's apparent natural access to it.

Then there is the physical similarities. if you look at Evil Ryu now, he looks like a young Gouki.

The fact that Gouki himself doesn't know that he is Ryu's father explains the way Gouki treats him. I'd imagine Gouki would be somewhat suprised to learn he has lineage in the world, considering he considers worldy attachments as a weakness. it would be alot like Vader and Luke, with Gouken playing the part of Obi-Wan.

Yea, I think that makes sense. I guess they wanted to leave it as a "mystery". I did think of it as Star Wars though, some other people likened the correlation as well.

Well games in general have become easier and have catered to newer gamers. There were days were games were a lot more broken and challenged you for the wrong reasons. There was however a sweet spot where it was challenging the right way without the bugs or things like computer controlled characters doing moves without charging.

I haven't played the later versions much if at all. I have the classics on my psp though.

The classics are the best. Everything after Yoshi's island I don't quite like. but World and 3 are my alltime faves.

Yes, 3 and world are a tossup to me. Not quite sure which I prefer over the other.

Mario64 wasn't bad either.

64 was alright. but the N64 technology was very new back then, and it made the game a little difficult to play at forst (Damn I hated that control stick when I first used it.... it was irritating till I got used to it by playing Golden Eye and Perfect Dark)
