John McClane (Die Hard movies) vs Martin Riggs (Lethal Weapon movies.)
Two scenarios.
1: Gun battle. Both are armed with their signature Beretta. Both have 5 reloads. Fight takes place on the Titanic. Before it sinks, obviously.
2: H2H battle in a steel cage. Both are wearing MMA shorts, nothing else. No weapons, just H2H.

Tough, I'm thinking McClane myself.

I thought that for a while too, but then I rewatched Lethal Weapon 2. Riggs is a beast H2H. H2H, Riggs 10/10.
Gun battle, I'd say Riggs 7/10.

I've only seen the Lethal Weapon with Jet Li; Gibson wasn't all that impressive in that, he seemed old and tired.
But overall I can't say due to my Lethal Weapon ignorance, maybe he's better in the other films of the franchise and would give McClane a fight and not just get his ass pummeled or shot.

He's too much for Mac. Too fast and too strong, too skilled.

Gibson certainly wasn't any of those things in the Jet Li film of the series. He was old and tired and he needed his partner to defeat Jet Li.

And this has what to do this thread? This is the high end feats of Riggs. Watch LW2, champ.
Also, better a partner than an SUV. And, in the end, Li died by Riggs' hand, not by gravity.

Relax, I said I can't properly judge as I've only seen one film of the Lethal Weapon set. So I am not saying "McClane wins the thread".
I was commenting that if it's Gibson in the Jet Li film, McClane would obliterate him. Gibson was slow and unimpressive in that film to be a "super-cop". Him and his partner together didn't compare to one McClane in super-copness.

Yet towards the end, he was going toe to toe with Li and almost beat him.

Yet towards the end, he was going toe to toe with Li and almost beat him. After Li had spent a considerable amount of energy beating the crap out of two guys. McClane could solo Jet Li.

Dude, stop. McClane was, at best, an average h2h combatant. Riggs is just better.

Dude, stop. McClane was, at best, an average h2h combatant. Riggs is just better. While McClane didn't have fancy skills, he gets the job done and alone. Gibson in Lethal Weapon 4 was old, tired and needed the help of his large partner to beat guys down. Not better in his fourth film.

Without them, he would have surely lost the day. Again with LW4 Riggs? Stop. Watch LW1-3 then get back to me.

In fights? McClane rarely needs help. When he does need help, it's to further the plot. Solve something etc. I've seen part Four, so that's what I can talk about; I'm not going to comment on a film I've not seen. In part four, Gibson's character was a has-been cop at best. McClane in Diehard 4 was better than ever, he keeps kicking ass, age doesn't matter.

You're the one that questioned McClane's age, so don't get mad cos you've just be proven wrong again. McClane is better all around, going from Lethal Weapon 4.

I have seen all the Diehard films, and if winning = gets ass handed, then we agree.

Forgetting that Riggs took on and pwned 4 asian Triads at once in LW4?

Lulz, look at you, you haven't even seen LW 1-3 and you're proclaiming a McClane victory. I clearly said I'm not saying "McClane wins" considering I've not seen all the Lethal Weapon film, so nice try at weaseling. Your man-crush on Mel Gibson is funny though.

Sup Robtard? Same exact words he used on me on KMC.

Considering I already said "I can't say McClane wins" because I've not seen the Lethal movies, there is nothing for me to dodge.
Hold onto that "you're Robtard; I know you!" crutch. It's all you have.

Considering my argument has always been "I can't say because I've not seen all the Lethal films", there is nothing for me to dodge.
Those clips had okay fight scenes. Gibson surprised a couple idiots who let their guard down because they thought he was dead and killed them with a chain. There is no chain and McClane wouldn't have his back turned.
Keep that "you're Robtard; I know you!" crutch, boy. It's all you have.

And yet you still praise Mac and diss Riggs. Classic Robtard.
"Okay" fight scenes? Those feats, Mac can't even begin to touch them. Riggs is on a whole different level.
BTW, Einstein, Mac "left his back turned" twice in Die Hard.
Saying you're Robtard is not a diss, Rob is my friend and a cool guy. I dunno why you deny you're him when C and I both know it's you.
